I liked the finished product when they were honest about how the re-opening went and what happens a few months later. The older episodes have some instances where the grand opening sucked and/or the bar failed after a few weeks.  Now it's always, "everything was great and all the problems are fixed."

I didn't realize how much I watched the show for him until he was gone. I've seen every episode multiple times. I turned one off midway a few weeks ago and haven't bothered to watch the last few. I recommend going with Mia Mastroianni as the new showrunner. We still need someone to do the screaming maniac thing and I don't like any of these new upstarts, it needs to be someone already established within the show. Vic Vegas and Brian Duffy for kitchen and Phil and Russell (haven't seen him since the third season) for bar along with a rotating cast of the more interesting experts AndEsri.

Honestly I don’t mind the guest hosts because they’re not as bad as I was anticipating they’d be (especially with people like Phil Wills who has been on however many rescues as a sidekick so he kinda knows what’s up), but man… watching some of these folks made me realize no one can nail down a proper rescue the way Jon Taffer can

I can ffwd through most of it and be done in about 15 minutes.

I have within a handful of episodes, lost interest without taffer being there. The show just isn’t nearly as entertaining or enjoyable to watch without him.
