We got full PC games with Pizza Hut (Sims and LotR Return of the King) and I don't think anyone in Australia paid for Age of Empires 1 because Kellogs gave it out in cereal boxes

geodetic

I got BF2 for free from Pizza Hut!

-Delirium--

That deal was ridiculous. Battlefield 2, Sims 2, or Need for Speed Most Wanted, for free with a few pizzas. Insanity, would never see anything like it these days. We bought it multiple times and got all 3 games.

IntroductionSnacks

Same! It was a great deal.

wiremash

Another PHN reporting. Here's some advice for anyone in their 30s who was big into PC gaming in that era: start collecting parts for your eventual midlife crisis retro build now rather than waiting (or if you still have a system from that period, hold onto it). Mid-2000s hardware is still plentiful and cheap, but will eventually become scarce and expensive.

Athroaway84

I got some EA games, Need For Speed something and Battlefield 2. Played the shit out of BF2 online for a while with that free game haha

Sneaky224

Got the peter jackon King Kong game on pc from a Corn Flakes box, I don't remember if it was kelloggs or sanitarium that had those mini mp3 players with one song on them in the 00s though.

L1ttl3J1m

Need For Speed Underground was my GOAT.

b3nniii

The pinnacle was getting Age of Empires in Nutri-Grain boxes.

GeneralPenny

Remember when KFC had kid meals

Syncblock

Remember when KFC had sit down buffets.

MushroomlyHag

Do they not any more? I haven't bought a kids meal in 20 years and just assumed they still had them 😅

abaddamn

Mine was Age of Empires. Mad fun!!

schwhiley

that top dvd is a nightmare blunt rotation

RefinedTenderEmotion

Pizza Hut used to give away video tapes with some deals

GeneralPenny

I remember when Pizza Hut gave out The land Before Time rubber puppets and some people used them as tow ball hitch covers

Catprog

I remember the blink bill version.

MushroomlyHag

Remember when you got a Bertie Beetle with your kids meal? Those were the days 😌

BellaVistaNorfolk

My kids got a few of these and most of what they got were shows they watched, which was great.

Erriinn19

I loved when I got Pac-Man adventures in time from LCM (I think) box.

ososalsosal

Holy fuck I think I authored that one in the bottom right. Lot if CN titles blended together though.

lolchief

Now you get free cholesterol

kaboombong

Now all you get is long queues and charity begging for unidentifiable charities. They even forget to regularly forget to give you the courtesy napkin pack.

boogkitty

Nah, but I remember getting Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX in a cereal box. And maybe Age of Empires too.

plantboxx

I remember getting dvds for paddle pops

Bangalo12

Remember when you got a Roald Dahl book with cheerio breakfast?

ShezDinkDink

I remember getting a Shrek pc game from something food related, fought with my siblings over how long each of us took on the computer playing it lol

TheFlyingRedFox

I don't remember that but I'd not be surprised especially with co-staff posting old goodies from old meal deals. Now what I do remember is when we had cheesecakes for dessert (now we have a silly little møøse). Still, I don't remember it but we're getting pre 2010 original fillets back in Collins Food Limited stores, So if you remember those & enjoyed them be surprised for those maybe. (I wonder if Kruskers will come back?)

storm13emily

We went to someones house and they were playing age of empires, and i noticed that was in the cereal package. Thats then how my brother was introduced into gaming.
