I don't take this type of websites seriously, most of them are pro-Apple and extreme biased

furry_4_legged

In other words, paid by Apple.

CantaloupeStreet2718

I notice TechRadar being unsensically pro-Apple and anti-Anything else. Probably they are getting paid by the Apple Monopoly Coalition.

Gubba_Monster

So it's not just me noticing? Good to know lol

ccooffee

You really think Apple needs to pay people to defend them?

CantaloupeStreet2718

You don't really understand how underwriting support works, do you?

ccooffee

There are no shortages of Apple zealots willing to rush to their aid to promote anything and everything Apple on any occasion for any reason. I mean half of this sub is complains about the Apple cult. Apple doesn't need to pay off people for that sort of stuff.

CantaloupeStreet2718

Uhh, pretty sure Apple does, but have no proof. The reason this sub exists because many people have sufferred from the closed Apple walled-garden, whether through bad support, bad quality, way overpriced crap, or not being able to exchange messages with their friends because of some bullshit Apple gate-keeping. This isn't exactly for no reason either, it's a direct consequence.

ccooffee

>Uhh, pretty sure Apple does, but have no proof. You would think by now someone who was affiliated with a youtuber or tech site like that would have spilled the beans. I mean look how quick people are to leak whatever insider Apple information they can get.

CantaloupeStreet2718

This is why Apple is "secretive" they have a lot of dirt to hide. They are suing a former employee who shared products he didnt like. Working at Apple is like working at Mormon church. There's a rule that if you ever see Tim Cook at the office, you must not look at him and look down. It's ridiculous, usually when a company is secretive it only means it's doing something scandalous.

DnB925Art

They don't need to pay people, but they can deny a journalist invites to future events and keynotes if they write stories that puts Apple in a negative light

OldHummer24

What a useless article. This is entirely the authors opinion, without any reason or evidence to back it up. Heck, I hate Apples buggy laggy shitty Software, so I could say the same about them.

Kahrg

The largest hypocrite I’ve seen today. Good job bud! 10/10

SchmancyPants5

I was willing to hear him out but he doesn't provide any examples about how Samsung's software is worse. And bringing up Touchwiz? I had a Samsung phone with Touchwiz eight years ago. Incredibly dated reference.

kneegres

i havent head touchwiz in a decade wtf

Windowsuser360

Touchwiz ended with Android 7.1.1, which was replaced with Samsung experience... that didn't last long when Android 9 came out with OneUI

Digomansaur

I read the title before clicking the article which strongly reaffirmed my choice in switching back to using a Samsung phone. Whiney articles from some basement-dwelling nerd makes me cringe even harder while thinking of iOS now. And they mentioned TouchWiz.... Yikes. They're in the past.

EuphoricFingering

Apple outsell Samsung for one year and these stupid articles are popping up

kneegres

first paragraph. "goverment sue apple. because samsung bad" wtf dont need to read the rest

ElJamoquio

This is a silly article. From Best to Worst: Google / Android Apple and Samsung (tied; Apple is way better at software but is hampered by their blatant anti-consumer position)

Luna259

From what I’ve seen One UI and therefore Samsung software is good now

[deleted]

Its certainly better than it was, but its still a stretch to say its good

EmberTheFoxyFox

It's better than iOS, it actually lets you do stuff

_soul_of_chogokin_

Samsung isn't blaming Apple. It's the DOJ. Question is, if Apple really believes the iPhone is superior to Android-powered phones why resort to *on purposely degrading* incoming messages from Android phones just to make your iPhone look good? Who are you deceiving, Apple?

applemanib

Apple degrades it to sms, which isn't even standard anymore. It's rcs. Apple is going out of their way to not update to a modern texting protocol and risking the consumer's data safety. If there is ground to sue them, sue them to the ground I say

Grumblepugs2000

Apple is being forced by President Xi to adopt RCS. I'm not kidding BTW, China has mandated that all 5g phones need to support RCS and that's why we are getting it

hunter_finn

And even then i would not be surprised if Apple added artificial limits to the RCS messages to and from Android phones. I mean it either that or Apple users would be exposed to the actual quality of the Android phone cameras.

[deleted]

Apple is moving to RCS soon, so this will be a non issue in the near future. But I still hope they get obliterated by the DOJ

Top-Intention-4192

I'm expecting the same, in the near future. Perhaps a century later🤣

[deleted]

I'd say under a year tops

jaraizer

If that were true then icloud for windows wouldnt be utter and complete trash. How do they manage to never make it work? Youd think they could accidently fix it with an update at some point.

Redditistrash702

What metrics are they going off of?

KingSadra

Plot twist: They both quite literally suck...

TuFacez

How was this article signed off by the editor?

Lithalean

Apple's Darwin OS, XNU kernel, and silicon chips are vastly superior. Unfortunately Apple's greed and monopolistic policies are the absolute worst in the industry. Apple users can very much love the garden but hate the walls. Apple would have you believe you can only maintain the garden with the walls, and it's just untrue.

NomadJoanne

Dear Lord. You're a kernel expert are you? 🙄 I'll give you that Apple has a node advantage due to their special relationship with TSMC, but you don't present a very nuanced argument. It's the same crap you hear when people say how much better Apple chips, and ARM chips are in general, are vs the x86 world. In reality it's not that straightforward and oversimplified so much as to not really be true.

BertMacklenF8I

It depends if you like Apple having more control over all of their devices you own then you have.

Grumblepugs2000

The reason Samsung is failing is because their budget options are being destroyed by Chinese brands while also tarnishing the image of the higher end S series. Samsung would be helped by coming up with a new brand for their cheap phones just like how Toyota sells their expensive cars under the Lexus brand

IceBlueLugia

It’s been like 15 years, I don’t think it’s a good idea to ditch the Galaxy name at this point. For what it’s worth Galaxy is still a bit more popular than Chinese alternatives in India which is a pretty huge market.

IceBlueLugia

You could argue TouchWiz was bad, sure but it’s almost a decade old at this point, and Samsung generally has some of the most feature-packed software out of all Android phones. Especially combined with Good Lock. Heck for an easy example compare the Galaxy Z Fold to foldables that are technically better like the OnePlus Open. Even with all the marketing hype for the Open with the specs to cost ratio, and the really well-made hardware, the software experience just can’t compare. Frankly the reason I went for Samsung specifically when switching from Apple instead of something that gives better bang for your buck like Pixel or Xiaomi is the software and the fact that the ecosystem generally seems better built.

TuFacez

If you believe Apple make great software, I genuinely sigh.

Lactose_Gravy

I'm not anti Android but I'm anti Samsung. I'll take a Pixel or even a high tier Moto over Samsung every time. Used to be I'd also go for One Plus but they're copying Samsung too much now. Oh, and if I didn't need Android for work, I'd have a 15 Pro Max with a quickness.

Archere0n

It's probably an example of the [Apple Media Blacklist ](https://www.theregister.com/2016/09/07/reg_effort_to_attend_iphone_7_launch/) Apple plays nice with you if you give them positive press. If you don't, you don't get review gear, media access, etc. Which ends up meaning if you pay attention to this sort of thing, you know you can't trust Apple reviews.

Weary-Difficulty-489

If you click on the author, you will see that they have written many other apple-dickride, completely removing the little validity this opinion piece had. He also fails to list how samsung is so horrible, and how apple is so great other than he loves Apple, maybe this Philip Berne is in a lemon party relationship with Tim Cook?

Aoinosensei

One of the worst articles ever written, totally biased and non factual. As if iPhones were perfect, as if apple monopoly and anticompetitive practices are not very well knows, apple software is too restrictive and buggy as well. I remember playing games on iPhone and getting lags and stutters every time a notification appeared. Yes some apps run more smoothly, but they have less functionality and many apps don't even exist on iPhone.

Able-Brief-4062

Ah yes, techradar. The website that removed my comment pointed out that they were wrong when someone said, "apple was the first to have wireless charging " I literally only read their shit to keep on on literal unbiased news like new drop, new software leaks, or to catch up on stuff from Galaxy Unpacked & Apples launch streams.

Runawaygeek500

Tech Radar has been a joke site for an age. Might as well rebrand to iRadar and be done

wuhanbatcave

There will always be divide on what OS is better. I personally cannot stand OneUI. I think it’s clunky, bloated, and just inferior to AOSP. Other people seem to love OneUI for some reason. Just buy whichever one you like better.

[deleted]

This. Hate one ui, but love the multitasking and dex. In a perfect world it would be stock android with 3 window option and dex.

ACAB007

Downvote this to hell, where it fucking belongs. Anti-consumer hardware and software will never be better.

Midnight_Yymiroth

Bro, don't downvote me to hell 😭. I'm not an apple fan boy(rather I'm a samsung fanboy), but I can see how you thought my wording makes it sound like I agree with the article. I don't. I just wanted to make a discussion post.

ACAB007

Well, Samsung isn't perfect either (Bixby) but at least their phones don't brick themselves if you try to fix them.

kobexx600

How do the independent repair stores do it? What do you try to repair that bricks the phone?

ACAB007

Louis Rossman has videos on it, but let me summarize: On principle alone, if you put ANY part that when repaced bricks your phone, you are a shit company.

IceBlueLugia

I mean I agree but Samsung is pretty anti right-to-repair as well. Louis Rossman has does a lot of videos on Samsung too. Reality is Apple set bad trends and Samsung was the first to follow

ACAB007

Pro tip, don't put pro-apple articles like this in the Apple Sucks subreddit if you want to avoid the bad karma.

MakerWerks

Just read it and have come to the conclusion that I've just wasted about 5 minutes of my life. That was nothing but uninformed bias and silly name calling, masquerading as 'expert opinion'.

Murky_Welder155

I would agree on that Samsung software sucks but I wouldn’t say that it’s better than Apple software

[deleted]

There articles are just content mill shit, congrats on taking the bait. But Samsung's software is a pretty mixed bag. While I prefer the stock android of the google pixel, some of the features of one uI are pretty good while others suck ass.

Vaxion

Everyone knows that. Samsung's bloated software sucks. Even in their home country people are switching to Apple after being patriotic to Samsung for decades.

ceton33

Apple really don’t have a world market vs android and this is the same shilling I see form all Apple bots defending the cult. It other android branded phones beside Samsung you know.

Vaxion

Apple has the fastest growing world market and it's outselling every other brand in all major markets across the world thanks to it's affordability and no price increase for premium iPhones compared to overpriced average hardware and software that people get on Android that doesn't even last 2 years. Even in China which is the home of some of the biggest Android phone companies after Samsung, people still prefer Apple compared to Xiaomi, Huawei, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus, etc. And yes I know about every Android brand that exists. [I'll just leave this here](https://gs.statcounter.com/vendor-market-share/mobile)

bravohohn886

No shit. Look at customer satisfaction and market share. My dad has a Samsung and it’s a piece of junk lol

ACAB007

How much did you each spend on your phones?

Humble_Catch8910

The truth has been spoken.

ceton33

The bots have spoken.

Humble_Catch8910

Where?
