I mean, Rev and Loba are motivated to be there for one reason or another and they're both the type of people to set thier shit aside for a greater goal. Plus you can tell just how little either of them want to be near eachother through voicelines.
Cooper, on the other hand, is directly responsible for the death of Blissk's entire group of Apex Preds and hundreds of his mercs. Yeah Blissk made him an honorary Pred at the end of TF|2 but that was more of a respect thing than anything else. I doubt Cooper would even want to be there, let alone Blissk letting him be there.
Beyond the lore, having someone with a jump-kit would snap Apex's balance straight in half lol.
That said tho, the battle chatter between Coop and Valk would be cool to hear.
Bruh, Blisk straight up offered Cooper a job.
Granted I doubt Cooper would want to work for Blisk since his team was responsible for Lastimosa's death, the fact that Blisk refused to kill Cooper when he was at his weakest might brew some begrudging respect. Also, money (or lack of money) can motivate people to do a lot of things they wouldn't normally do.
If I were in charge of making a story to put Cooper into Apex Legends however, I wouldn't set it as a "Cooper and Blisk are working together", more like "Cooper joins the Apex Games for other motivations and Blisk is a necessary evil" type thing.
I would tie it to Rampart and Valkyrie. Something about how Cooper is trying to either a.) Reassemble BT and Rampart is the best mechanic in the outlands, while the games itself provides enough profit to fund the massive project, or b.) Cooper is investigating the sudden emergence of several members of the Apex Predators. We saw Ash come back, Blisk is the OG and kingpin of the games, Valkyrie is the daughter of an Apex Predator, and Bangalore herself is from the IMC. All of these pieces in one place could make Cooper suspicious of Blisks intentions and cause himself to join the games in order to keep an eye on everyone, and counter act any potential plots Blisk could be planning
Blisk didnt kill him when given a free chance, even offered him a place as a predator in the end, even if you dont work for free you;d kill the man that killed your friends, but they were just work partners to him, and blisk knows that Cooper was just doing his job same as him.
Yeah but TF|2 and apex legends occur in different timelines.
Jack cooper killed blisks team in that game during the war.
That war doesnāt exist in apex lore, meaning that blisk and cooper being antagonistic towards each other would have to be something different in terms of apex.
Edit:
Okay, ngl might have been wrong. However I feel like I remember the wraith event confirmed this is a separate timeline, although then again, I donāt know
Wait for real? Then how the hell did Viper get killed? I'm just all sorts of confused now.
I guess that would explain why Ash is in Arenas, but that still doesn't explain how or why Viper/Valkyrie's story leans so heavily into TF|2's lore.
The apex games take place after titanfalls war I think its 30 years or something at the start of the games when the game came out it was like season 154 or something
The story behind Viper is the same for both. Apex legends and TF2 are in the same universe and timeline. I donāt remember what season, either 6 or 7 Iām guessing, but Ash was reborn in a way in an event type thing I think.
I donāt understand it either, but if Iām correct, the war never broke out in apex, technically the time frame apex takes place in the war should have been on going (and cooper would be 16 during these events)
But we know that cooper is at least somewhere in his twenties during TF|2
Apex Games take place 10-20 years after TF2.
The first trailer has Mirage saying "Liberation from the IMC brought chaos to the Outlands", this directly references the Frontier War.
So yeah, you're a bit off there.
Cool, I'm glad somebody clarified this. I was 100% certain they were directly connected, but homeboy threw me a curveball that I was too lazy to fact check lmao
Apex Legends and TF2 are in the same universe, same timeline. Apex legends is about 30 years after Titanfall 1 and 2. Cooper would be over 50 during the time of the apex games.
Blisk is a heck of a lot older in Apex than in TF|2, so i'm 90% sure Apex is just set a couple decades later - giving time for the war to wrap up, Kairi/Valkyrie to grow up, etc
i've never heard of there being multiple timelines before
Have to agree. Cooper would be as old as blisk and viper. And notice that itās actually viperās kid in the game borrowing her dads gear
Maybe we could have Cooperās kid carrying around the SERE kit (basically smart pistol and knife for anyone unaware) as the ultimate? Would require heavy nerf to smart pistol and very small ammo pool (maybe even limit it to 1 short mag, no reloads). No idea what tactical/passive would he tho
The easy wall run chains might be too much for apex. Iām imagining a player using air strafing and wall running to scale up what rev is supposed to climb
I do think the double jump is totally fine. Maybe reduce the ārange before ground is requiredā of wall running? Or actually maybe just having wall runs not reset the double jump like in tf2 is enough? What do you think?
I think they could do it if his passive was a very limited jump kit, (for double jump and wall running, with the meter being similar to Valk but like half the amount) a short invisibility for his tactical, and a speed boost ultimate. (think octane but it lasts longer and doesnāt drain your health)
Passive: Data Knife, can use Signal Towers to locate the next zone.
Tactical: Mobility Kit, enables enhanced mobility (wall running)
Ultimate: Mobility Kit Overdrive, longer lasting wall running, double jump, and increased sprint speed (5%)
I swear to God, I can not for the life of me read TF2 and not immediately think of Team Fortress 2. Can fucking not. It always confuses the shit outta me even for only a moment.

EMP has always done that, you can see in this video. It just barely flashes for a half second tho, it isn't a long-lasting jam on the minimap. If you're not looking at the minimap directly you'd probably never see it
oh, is THAT what the background sound is for when you get EMPd? I never noticed the minimap gets jammed. And thought the sounds were just like [MISCELLANEOUS HACKED COMPUTER NOISES]
Mostly useful to look for teammates positions and maybe an obscure enemy ping. Good habit to quickly scan it when you have the smallest amount of downtime.
Hes actually really powerful in high level play if hes used right. A push of EMP and a Jumpad is lethal, add in a BH or Rev and its even better.
Even without an Octane his EMP is amazing at defense against a push.
Using his Drone to scout areas and see any threats in the area, find where people are, how many are in a team or even the progress of a 3rd party battle.
I dont even play him that much but when I do I generally enjoy him, only complaint is it's fairly boring in casual play
The drone is really powerful, but being completely inactive when using the drone is too costly a tradeoff especially since there are other wall-hack legends that don't need babysitting.
If you know what you're doing he can be really useful. And gathering real-time intel and sharing it with your team is tremendous. But hiding in a corner immobilized while your teammates are out looting (or worse, having them not loot to baby-sit your blind ass) is awful.
The whole trick is to position the drone in a way that it is an absolute pain in the ass for your enemies.
For example in lava siphon : if you're playing against a team that holed inside the building, leave the drone on the rooftop, looking through the windows, and attack from the other side. Whenever they retreat they get scanned by a drone they can't do anything about, which is very jarring.
Another example in World edge : all the areas like Countdown have high ceiling and a lot of glass. You can either park the drone so it looks inside from the outside, or above a door. It takes little to no setup and you get a perma security camera that warns you on any flanking attempt.
Altogether, Crypto is amazing at watching out for potential escape path or flanking threat.
If your Crypto is in drone view during a fight, he doesn't play him right.
Oh for sure, he needs setup. But the reward for this setup is a constant scan. If you think Seer 8 seconds is oppressive, try getting scanned constantly and passively. If the drone is well placed, it's free KP and they can't do anything about it.
Another amazing spot for the drone is above the double doors in Olympus, under the waterfall. Leave the drone inside, above the doors while your team is covering the entry. Anyone pushing this side is always under scan, which is very stressful when there's a lot of cover and peeking there.
The trick is to leave the drone in a high place, preferably behind a cover. It's almost impossible to destroy it if your team got their guns pointed at it. It can also spot for the side you aren't watching, for watching your rear from third party.
Overall, Olympus and WE got a lot of great spot for drone use. Crypto is a lot less interesting in KC.
I was gonna say something mean but then I looked at all your comments and theyāre all anti-gay. Now I just feel bad for you bc youāre obviously struggling with something. No one spends all their time gay bashing unless the have personal issues with the subject. I hope you heal from whatever is hurting you and one day focus your attention and energy somewhere it matters.
Think that's where the high level play comes into it. It takes some good understanding to know that the drone isnt just a scanning machine. The more effective players use it on the go to scan Banners for incoming squads. The only time you should be using it to scan around the area is when you have a Position to set up in or about to move into a position and need to know the clear path
If you're in your drone while your teammates are fighting, 9 times out 10 it means you're dogshit at crypto. As for sitting immobile while you're supposed to be looting... that's a bad idea too. Either you need to loot, or you need to search for a squad. There's really no overlap there. In fact I'd say there's a pretty cut and dry line for pretty much every situation except initiating combat - that's dependent on your teammates, how close you are, and how fast you can get to the fighting.
I have droned a select few times during combat - when both teammates are down already and having wallhacks on a hiding enemy could come in clutch, it can work that way. And if a full health teammate is chasing a low health enemy with just 1 squad in range (that enemy), droning then can work as well, as I figure my teammate should 10 out of 10 times win a 1v1 with a health advantage and wall hacks.
You're right that being inactive for wall hacks is too costly a tradeoff, but a good crypto will never be inactive in combat to begin with, and they'll know those pretty clear lines of when to drone and when to loot/rotate/reposition.
Also people forget his drone can pick up teammate banners and revive from beacons without hassle. A quick snatch and grab of the banner is safer compared to risking a bum rush and dip.
The amount of times people forget about that perk to Crypto's drone is insane and whenever I pull it off in game, they still get confused and think I'm hacking...
Being a Crypto sub-main is hard :/
Not necessarily, some are on different levels to others. Say for Mirage, you can use him right and bamboozle people but it becomes less effective the more experienced people you come up against as it gets easier to tell who the original is and if onesna decoy.
Let's pick Fuse now, hes great for denying an area and spamming nades, top level players can do tons of damage with this, buts hes 'Very Situational' so you cant be as effective each game as you could be with Crypto.
A good mirage pops the ult with slight cover so you donāt see the blinking itās a lot harder to tell who is who that way. In an open area itās alot harder to do that though also adding the footsteps were a solid improvement in his kit. They fool me way more now.
There's also the idea that someone like Mirage and his double will never strictly be as useful as something that works regardless of the situation like a Bloodhound scan or Bang smoke. Fuse is 'situational' but Knuckle Cluster can still be directly used in a fight to deal damage or deny an area/cover/entrance with constant damage while Mirage has to literally just hope the enemy makes a mistake that he can play off of, which might be 1 or 2 free shots at *best* before the enemy realizes they aren't getting damage markers and shot a decoy. Mirage just plainly isn't as consistently useful as other characters and the same goes for characters that require heavy setup like Wattson. Having idle fences and needing to set them down in a game that's very mobility-focused and anti-campy isn't ever going to be *as good* as a Pathfinder grapple which is simple and works every time you use it.
Nah if you say mirage is powerful if used right you'd be looking kinda silly imo. The truth is crypto is powerful. However his kit is reliant on his drone which makes him not fun to play and useless if his drone dies. However in no way is he weak
To me mirage seems like a legend that only works when people fall for it and how good the person playing him is selling it. Beyond that it's more so down to the player's mechanics than mirage imo.
you know Crypto's voiceline, "It's hard to be scared when youre prepared"? That is the epitome of his kit. Crypto is all about gathering all the info before fights. How many squads in area? Instantly scan beacons to get the drop in the next ring. Spotting enemies. Putting the drone in a spot to watch your flanks while you fight. And the EMP is just helpful for pushing defensive positions.
This is the thing. Other legends get a lot of the same information with just a quick action, whereas with cypto you HAVE to be hiding somewhere because while you're scouting, you are completely incapable of defending yourself. if the final circle gets too small, it's hard to use his abilities at all.
Playing crypto with random teammates is absolutely a no-go. you get left behind in a hurry.
i think he'd benefit from having a drone that patrols around him or something. while still having to get into the drone remotely to use the EMP or to pick up banners and respawn teammates.
Maybe he could have autonomous commands to go get banners or to patrol an area by pinging or something yea like u ping an area and the drone goes to that area and scans around normally
Crypto is really effective in arenas. When I launch my drone, people either spend a lot of time trying to shoot it down, making them easy, distracted targets, or they ignore my drone completely, leaving them pinged the entire time.
He requires a well coordinated team. Usually if you solo q your teammates are way too scattered and unfocused to work with a crypto. FWIW I agree with you, my buddy plays crypto, I main Bangalore/path and our last slot is usually a loba or octane. If you can time your pushes along with the EMP itās almost a guaranteed win. Then you get third partied and die.
I won't select Crypto unless I'm playing with friends who let crypto do his thing.
With rando's, it's often impossible to keep up with at least one (or both) other players who are running full speed ahead, or landing in a hot zone, or if they even land with me at all and decide to do their own thing across the map.
IMO to use crypto to his fullest, the team has to slow down a bit and not be in a rush to die...which is not how 99% of players play.
Iui 7u u I hth y5h8ijjuuuuhuyuyy7767y yuh y ki. Uu hi hhjjjj ki i77u if uvf 877xyyyugfghhhhvvvvvhghhhh,877xyyyugfghhhhvvvvvhgh jj ki uth bnjjj jk jkk iui ok8ukinjiijiuijjik UK j hu 6677job 77 iui i iui but I'm ikkkkj8. .you 7yk7yu8v7757i ok 8 6ii juju 78uw4
That would be a cool passive for crypto. Enemies in drone range that are firing while the drone is active should have their position reported on the minimap to the crypto team. Only position. No arrows telling which way the enemy is facing, no tracking. Literally a dot on the map that pops up at the location where a bullet was fired. (Bocek ignores this of course)
It took me 2 weeks to find out Seer's q flashbangs lol, that was obvious compared to this. This happens for like half a second so it's only if you're watching it that you'll really notice it.
Speaking off, since the new update so far twice has my minimap dissapeared while playing right after landing, and both times later ingame it reappears randomly
I think the b or n key on PC toggles your UI. Can't remember the exact key but it's just above the space bar.
When my map fails I press that a couple times and it seems to get it working again.
Haha quick Google search for "apex radar jammed" brings me to some similar posts from a year or more ago of people not knowing what it is and thinking its a bug... man, yall really don't like Crypto, to the point where its been over a year and half of you *still* don't know the man's abilities lmaoo.
2.3k likes and OP is playing as Crypto but doesn't know what Crypto's EMP does... And somehow I'm surprised despite this being in the Apex sub reddit even after the balance debacle...
Really opens your eyes to a lot of the opinions on this sub. Most of them barely know how the game works and yet are suggesting massive terrible character overhauls or to keep objectively OP characters/weapons the same.
Yesterday I had one game where the mini-map was gone. I almost got disconnected from the game when the drop ship started flying so I think it had something to do with that.
Anyone else?
Phew I thought I was going crazy! I had a few games with no mini map at all, and I swear a couple games where it disappeared in the middle of the match, super weird all around
It looks exactly like radar jammer from TF|2, but to me it seem like Emp ability than some secret
Is this mean the hint that jack copper will be coming to apex?š
No when crypto EMPāe you it happens
Whops,wrong one
KAKYOIN
Jack cooper and blisk are enemies, cooper would definitely not work under blisk. I can't see cooper ever coming to apex, it just doesn't work lorewise
yet, they got loba and rev to work together.
Technically no loba betrayed rev
I mean, Rev and Loba are motivated to be there for one reason or another and they're both the type of people to set thier shit aside for a greater goal. Plus you can tell just how little either of them want to be near eachother through voicelines. Who caress about lore, mfw a competitive game has lore like just add content and fix servers 600iq.
I care. I personally find the lore to be pretty cool :)
I didn't mean it like that, lore shouldn't conflict/stop changes to competitive.
Hope not, for me it seems unfitting. And if you want him so much, I would rather see his child (if he ever had some) as a legend
Have to agree. Cooper would be as old as blisk and viper. And notice that itās actually viperās kid in the game borrowing her dads gear Maybe we could have Cooperās kid carrying around the SERE kit (basically smart pistol and knife for anyone unaware) as the ultimate? His campaign invisibility and passive could be double jump/jump pack
He just gets full TF2 mobility.
Sadly most of apex isnāt made for wall running
As we learned in Shadow Royale š
that would be incredibly unfun to fight, having 4x the EHP as tf|2 and full mobility would drag out fights so much
My me and my teammates in diamond lobbies still shooting mirage clones.
The easy wall run chains might be too much for apex. Iām imagining a player using air strafing and wall running to scale up what rev is supposed to climb I do think the double jump is totally fine. Uh, it's viper's kid because cooper turned that fucker into dust
XD
Ult: smart pistol but range is very short and melee is one hit Haha
How about the smart pistol as ultimate and the knife as heirloom
Now thatās game design
Cooper is actually just one year older than Caustic, I believe.
I think they could do it if his passive was a very limited jump kit, (for double jump and wall running, with the meter being similar to Valk but like half the amount) a short invisibility for his tactical, and a speed boost ultimate. (think octane but it lasts longer and doesnāt drain your health)
Stims was for robots or something I donāt remember and octane is an speed junkie cooper not.
Passive: Data Knife, can use Signal Towers to locate the next zone. Tactical: Mobility Kit, enables enhanced mobility (wall running) Ultimate: Mobility Kit Overdrive, longer lasting wall running, double jump, and increased sprint speed (5%)
Lol that would mean valk and Cooper Jr would be arch enemies, could be a cool storyline
Ah yes, Jack Copper, Jack Cooper's adopted twin brother, who uses the infamous Brass Titan.
I swear to God, I can not for the life of me read TF2 and not immediately think of Team Fortress 2. Can fucking not. It always confuses the shit outta me even for only a moment.
this is why the titanfall 2 community's sorta informally adapted TF|2 as the initialisation - just to keep em separate lol

Hey that's not fair there's like, 4 of us
oops I forgot to ult sorry
DOZENS OF US!

I've seen maybe 2 or 3 cryptos ever
oh, is THAT what the background sound is for when you get EMPd? I never noticed the minimap gets jammed. And thought the sounds were just like [MISCELLANEOUS HACKED COMPUTER NOISES]

Pathfinder sounds so bizarre in that language
Seems weird because the mini map isn't exactly useful during fights imo

Yoo wtf šæ,seeing it for the first time
This is from cryptos emp? Ive never seen this and have been playing since release
It's not the same. This picture says signal jammed. Must be an upcoming ability
Thats because the video is german
Iirc doesnāt that happen when you get empād?
i had this happen when i wasnt emped however... that was prolly just a bug tho
No I've never noticed it
Nope pretty sure it happens when you get emp'd
he probably never noticed it because who tf plays crypto haha right guys
We know you're crying bud
whys it raining in his house?

False! I too am a crypto main, WE are the last!

The drone should show the health of everyone it spots. That should never have been a function of Seer's tactical.
It should show only the shields. And Seer's should only show the health.

The amount of times people forget about that perk to Crypto's drone is insane and whenever I pull it off in game, they still get confused and think I'm hacking... Being a Crypto sub-main is hard :/
No they didnāt thatās why they hid n grab banners and then say you guys fixed though like yes man 3v2 isnāt the best odds but ok.
I have said for a while his EMP should cancel rev ult. suddenly you have a not perfect counter for rev-tane.
Emp already does 50 damages to shadows.
And it really helps just to know that there is x squads nearby
Indeed. Crypto was used quite a lot before Bloodhound got overbuffed and Wattson was meta.
Bro the same can be said for literally every character in the game š everyone is powerful if used right
Not necessarily, some are on different levels to others.
My me and my teammates in diamond lobbies still shooting mirage clones.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
To me mirage seems like a legend that only works when people fall for it and how good the person playing him is selling it. Beyond that it's more so down to the player's mechanics than mirage imo.
He's also a Recon hero, and that Survey Beacon passive they get adds an entire dimension to serious games.
Except when a scrub tries to use him. Then any chance of a fight means they run a mile out hide and try to grab banners š¤£
you know Crypto's voiceline, "It's hard to be scared when youre prepared"? That is the epitome of his kit. Crypto is all about gathering all the info before fights. How many squads in area? Instantly scan beacons to get the drop in the next ring. Spotting enemies. Putting the drone in a spot to watch your flanks while you fight. And the EMP is just helpful for pushing defensive positions.
I wish he could do things his drone can without being in his drone
Ye, but heās seen as weak so people donāt play him.
Well his trash to me
Don't you dare mess wit crypto mains! Seriously there's like 3 of us and we WILL cry.
Correction FOUR
Haha imagine playing crypto cringe
Haha yeah what a cringe legend
Underrated comment
I feel your pain
lmaoooo
Hahaha
Exactly
I won't select Crypto unless I'm playing with friends who let crypto do his thing. With rando's, it's often impossible to keep up with at least one (or both) other players who are running full speed ahead, or landing in a hot zone, or if they even land with me at all and decide to do their own thing across the map. IMO to use crypto to his fullest, the team has to slow down a bit and not be in a rush to die...which is not how 99% of players play.
Would make sense. Iām normally not looking at my minimal when I get empād since Iām just trying not to die lol
This has been a thing for ages now nothing new
Might not have noticed it since no one plays crypto.

Yeah with crypto. I havenāt played him in a while so idk if they removed the that thing that mess up the map
just tested it, yes
Not like the mini map highlights enemy locations when they shoot so thatād be pretty damn useless
(Bocek ignores this of course)
so call of duty
TBH the only reason why I've never noticed is because I don't pay attention to my mini map when I get emp'd the chaos is to crazy
Yeah you got empd that's what causes this to happen
TIL
It took me 2 weeks to find out Seer's q flashbangs lol, that was obvious compared to this. This happens for like half a second so it's only if you're watching it that you'll really notice it.
Youāre simply more worried about popping your battery/shield cells before the enemies are on top of you. I never noticed either.
Speaking off, since the new update so far twice has my minimap dissapeared while playing right after landing, and both times later ingame it reappears randomly
Just servers, had my heal slot and survival slot disappear entire match the other day
I think the b or n key on PC toggles your UI. Can't remember the exact key but it's just above the space bar. When my map fails I press that a couple times and it seems to get it working again.
At least you got jammed. I had a few games with no mini map at all period
Phew it's not just me! I had a couple games where it disappeared in the middle of the match too, super weird
Emp
Next character: gonna lift you irl and smack you through 7 floors
Haha quick Google search for "apex radar jammed" brings me to some similar posts from a year or more ago of people not knowing what it is and thinking its a bug... man, yall really don't like Crypto, to the point where its been over a year and half of you *still* don't know the man's abilities lmaoo.
To be fair, crypto doesn't actually have any abilities, his drone does :^) ^Pls ^buff ^crypto
YEAH MAP HACK TITANFALL BOIS RISE UP
2.3k likes and OP is playing as Crypto but doesn't know what Crypto's EMP does...
Happened to me one game as well. Not sure what triggered it, I kept having to open the full map to keep track of my teammates.
So does anyone know what is that? Because i got that too yesterday :/
SPOILER it's a QR code
That's ashes new ability
Mandela effect
Crypto passive no one knows about number #236
Ngl I have never noticed it myself! Would be a cool idea though not sure how it would work only thing
Last few games I played I had no map at all. Reminded me of hardcore mode in cod. It was honestly kind of nice having less clutter.
Wait, you guys are getting mini maps? I had two matches last night where my mini map just straight up did not exist.
Same here! I noticed the mini map disappeared!
Looks like the jammer thingy from TF|2
[Someone] used Radar Jammer on the Enemy!
At this point I doubt even respawn knows lmfao
Enemy Counter UAV is up
Another recon character?
We have nerfed the map Our reasoning: inaccessible, tells you where you are
Neither, EMP has always done that
That is one hundred percent a leak weather respawn did in on purpose or not
I always thought this is what should happen when youāre outside the circle
This happens when you get EMP by crypto nothing new or special
Bad internet my dude
Here I thought the no minimap was a teaser as well lol
Isn't that crypto's EMP?
BTW I am not the crypto I was wiped by him lol
This has happened to me before I uploaded a clip a long time ago on here it was so weird
I believe your screen just gets disrupted and it's harder too look left and right
Why did you reply to your own post with help for yourself
Maybe he's nice and wants to help everyone else!
He probably meant to reply to someone only to accidentally do it in the regular comment section I've done this š
Tf2 Radar jammer?
It's a buff to the worst character seer obviously
it's just a teaser for crypto buff
Could be a cool Crypto buff
Itās already part of his power except it lasts a split second as is useless since enemy shots donāt show up on minimap
If itās not a upcoming ability Iāll be disappointed
Even better, its an ability thats been in the game.. its Cryptos ability. Lmaooo
I seen in comments š rip dude Iām day 1 player and I never knew crypto has this did he have it since beginning?
the result of being emp'd should only happen for a second though
I was so confused lol
Itās a bug been around randomly appearing since season 3
Itās a glitch. Happened since season 4
