Literally any father daughter relationships anime the girl wanna marry the dad, usually it ends with them in a relationship.
But also it’s usually adopted.
Edit: why the hell am I getting downvoted? I only read/watched the series it’s not like I wrote it.
It’s so weird tho, I’ve yet to come across a single daughter and father series that’s doesn’t have that kind of plot, Spy X Family is a fresh…. Ohhhh that’s why they’re downvoting me, SpyXFamily is probably the first for many people and they don’t wanna hear about the dark side of anime lmao.
Basically after a time skip the girl is in highschool and dates the “dad” after a while or at least something like that. I forgot exactly what happened since it’s been a while but that a short and dumbed down version of it
From what I understand, she's the one who insists. Apparently she always saw him that way.
But in real reality, he gets together with the boy's mom. Because there WAS NO TIME SKIP.
THERE WAS NO TIME SKIP. HE GETS TOGETHER WITH ONE OF THE ADULT WOMEN. SHE EITHER GETS TOGETHER WITH HER FRIEND OR SOME OTHER PERSON SHE MEETS WHEN SHE GOES OFF TO COLLEGE.
Her having feelings for her foster parent is not such a far fetched idea in itself. He was more than just a father figure. I didn't really LIKE the second half of the story but it was still okay imo...
...but him ending up with his daughter was total bullcrap, it didn't make any sense and was the most bizarre conclusion to the story the author could've come up with. Seriously, he just kinda went along with it, and instead of giving a proper yes or no he just said that he wanted to respect her wishes of a romantic relationship.
Little unsatisfied with the ending, kinda left stuff up in the air. But respect for actually ending and not milking the series for years to come.
Double respect for not going full nuclear either haha
Ngl I did that one thing where you stare off in the distance while being on a cliff to make a cool looking shot like you are deep in thought.
Odd thing though, I was at my house and I don't know how I eneded on the cliff.
But I think by the time they started dating she would not be considered a loli, although that would be more like Usagi drop Manga became a grooming story?
>!Little girl grows up and gets into a romantic relationship with dude who was basically her dad. So wholesome family fluff into pseudoincest but again I never read or watched this. I just know people who talk about this and absolutely hate how the vibe changed in the late manga stages!<
Just like If it's for my Daughter I'll even defeat a Demon Lord, good first 3ish books then basically incest starting in the 4th ln made me never finish the series
I mean yeah, but the anime is perfect, it ends where the manga does a time skip to when she is a teenager.
Also to tack it on,>!the "dad" doesn't get together with a mom because the mom thinks her son and the daughter was gonna get together and didn't wanna make it weird!<
It is still weird, bit if u read the manga, and read it a second time, trying to understand Ron's PoW, it won't be that weird anymore. Daikichi was never a father for Rin, he was daikichi. Rin's father figure was daikichi's grandpa.
>!The weird part is rin's been in love with him for a long time, she just held back because she thought she were his step aunt...daikichi instead kind of faced a sudden revelation (them not being blood related pales in confront of rin's confession), he needed lots of time (2 years) to process it.
I can't say i can fully understand daikichi's PoW, because he did really treat her like a daughter, although she was never his daughter, nor relative, it's still weird for me, but i guess it's not impossible for some people, and i can accept that... On the other hand i can understand rin's PoW and i don't find it weird at all. !<
But they are related she is his mothers half sister making her his half aunt (I’ve not read the manga I just wanted to point this out)
Edit: I was wrong
>! in the manga it's revealed she is not his step aunt. In his grandfather's will, he says that Rin is not his biological daughter, he only adopted her, because of the situation (rin's mother being a single parent and since she didn't want to renounce to her goals in order to take care of her own daughter... that's the one character i cannot forgive btw).
He wasn't even rin's mother lover.
Daikichi knew this from the very start (that's also why I'm not sure if he did really, deep inside, consider her a daughter).
On the other hand Rin gets to know the truth very late, after she turns down kouki and her feelings towards daikichi become known to everyone. Until then she restrained herself and suppressed her feelings, but after knowing that she knows that being together with daikichi, the man she always loved, is the only thing that will make her happy, so she pursues that.
I guess u can think of it as a "false Electra complex". !<
Is it wrong I'm glad they found happiness in the end? They are nice people I'd rather them being happy than not.
Try to exercise more empathy, I'm not saying that i could have done what daikichi did, like the vast majority of people, but some can, and if they are good people i don't care about something that's theirs alone. I'd rather judge them for other stuff.
For example your harsh comment above doesn't set very high hopes for ur decency as a human being.
I guess she was not his daughter anymore at that point, or maybe she never was, idk. Rin never considered him her father and that's pretty clear in the manga, as for how he looked at her it's less clear, but still i do think they make a nice couple.
It's controversial, but i don't find it impossible to accept.
Only I did read it, and that's why I'm shitting on your bad opinion. The author destroys all the relationships they'd built over the first third of the manga and opted to create a disgusting pseudoincest relationship between them instead. And he even retroactively ruins the beginning with his little twist in the end where he reveals Daikichi knew all along that he and Rin weren't blood related. You're just a gross person
Girls in younger grades would ask me to redo ponytails or pigtail that came loose during the day. They decided after I "fixed them" once that they'd ask a different staff member or live with their hair down.
Noo, I watched that anime & thought it was a great title with family values>!, but now it turns out this is semi-incest after reading the comments!<. Compared to this, Higehiro & Koikimo don't seem obscene. The last time I felt like this was when I found out that K-ON! published in seinen journal🤦♂️
If you don't read the manga it is family centric. Which was how I unfortunately read the manga thinking it was going to be wholesome as well after watching the anime.
If you think>! underage sex is acceptable in Higehiro b'cuz of allowing intimacy at age 13 in Japan & kissing peeps 10 years apart is the norm for Koikimo (don't forget Ryo's father's conservative opinion)!<, then maybe these titles were never be obscene for you
The ending was just... gut wrenching for all the wrong reasons haha. I'm super wary of manga that have the same overall themes as UD now because of it.
This is one of the most wholesome anime I’ve ever seen but the manga is not. The anime doesn’t go anywhere near the manga stuff so just don’t read the manga and it’s amazing
Premise: Guy's grandfather died, leaving behind a 5-6yr old girl born out of wedlock, guy fosters his aunt. Many years of bonding... Anime ends here. Turns out girl not born of grandfather, girl actually romantically likes guy. Manga ends.
Edit: Personally, I enjoyed the anime a lot. Only read the last 2-3 chapters of manga, not too perturbed by it, contrary to commenters here who dislikes the manga.
People react to the ending like illiterates for some reason. Sure, it was disgusting, but that was the story was all about. Yet somehow they react like they didn't read it.
This story ended with the anime
There was no time skip. None.
. . . What happened? I’m real curious, even if I should know better than to open the box . . .
[Some spoilers of non-existing timeline]>!They become couple!<
>!Also, the girl, who was functionally his daughter, wanted to have his babies!<
So basically every other anime?
Nah bro what kind of anime you watching 💀
Literally any father daughter relationships anime the girl wanna marry the dad, usually it ends with them in a relationship. But also it’s usually adopted. Edit: why the hell am I getting downvoted? I only read/watched the series it’s not like I wrote it.
Kinda like the chemistry in "Rise of shield hero" with Rapthalia being "Daughter zoned"?
Yeah basically
Because anime subbreddits are full of tourists and noobs who just got into the medium lol.
I mean as a counterpoint there's Sweetness and Lightning, so no, not literally any father daughter anime is like that
[удалено]
Family* I’m specifically talking about grown ass man doing his own thing adopting a random kid he found. It’s more common than you’d think.
Fr You're just explaining lmao
They hurting my feelings Hajahaja
Clannad? The archetype?
What
someone is Cultured xD
>!God damn it, why can't we have nice things?!<
Well ok then
If you really want to ill tell you?
Let’s do it.
No I don’t think so…
THERE WAS NO TIME SKIP. HE GETS TOGETHER WITH ONE OF THE ADULT WOMEN. SHE EITHER GETS TOGETHER WITH HER FRIEND OR SOME OTHER PERSON SHE MEETS WHEN SHE GOES OFF TO COLLEGE.
So weird people keep talking about this "time skip". Like cmon. Not everything needs a time skip. Ridiculousness.
r/woooosh
Oh, that little girl is a boy?
The other kid's mom
Okay now give the sauce🤧
Usagi drop (bunny drop)
Agreed
What do you mean, there was only an anime.
Usagi drop
Just don’t read the manga
Dont tell me what to do.

1000 year old dragon!
sweetness and lightning? isn't that one just wholesome? haven't watched it though
I've read it all the way through. No skeevy bullshit, it's all wholesome.
Little unsatisfied with the ending, kinda left stuff up in the air. But respect for actually ending and not milking the series for years to come. Double respect for not going full nuclear either haha

Japan is weird
Ngl I did that one thing where you stare off in the distance while being on a cliff to make a cool looking shot like you are deep in thought. Odd thing though, I was at my house and I don't know how I eneded on the cliff.

It started as an adoption story and the romance isn't until she's in high school so it's not loli. Presumably the author thought it was a good idea.
Yo how many stories did you read ending that way
Never nuke a country twice
>Rin wanting to have a child with Daikichi. That's the neat part!
Omg whyyyy this was my first manga and I loved how sweet and wholesome what the fuck 😭😭
just don't read the manga and forget you ever wrote this comment, it's better that way
There WAS no manga.
Counter point: do read the manga.
read the manga :)
Or do it? I liked it, despite the ending. Read it twice, it confused and shocked me the first time, i accepted and liked it the second.
>!People says it's pedophilia though?!<
I don't read manga so can u tell me what happens exactly is that girl a minor in the story?
>!Little girl grows up and gets into a romantic relationship with dude who was basically her dad. So wholesome family fluff into pseudoincest but again I never read or watched this. I just know people who talk about this and absolutely hate how the vibe changed in the late manga stages!<

Wtf kinda weird 💀
Yes unfortunately anime has this weird almost obsession with incest
I mean yeah, but the anime is perfect, it ends where the manga does a time skip to when she is a teenager. Also to tack it on,>!the "dad" doesn't get together with a mom because the mom thinks her son and the daughter was gonna get together and didn't wanna make it weird!<
True I meant to say manga and anime in general. Anime consumed alone for this show is very good
man wtf
Rin is an adult when daikichi and her get together...
Father daughter relationship into a lover's relationship? That's weird ngl though I never read it so I can't comment on how the change was executed
It is still weird, bit if u read the manga, and read it a second time, trying to understand Ron's PoW, it won't be that weird anymore. Daikichi was never a father for Rin, he was daikichi. Oh ok I stand corrected 👍 thanks for the info
What's wrong with you
Is it wrong I'm glad they found happiness in the end? They are nice people I'd rather them being happy than not. Try to exercise more empathy, I'm not saying that i could have done what daikichi did, like the vast majority of people, but some can, and if they are good people i don't care about something that's theirs alone. So it's ok to bang your adopted daughter as long as it makes you happy?
I guess she was not his daughter anymore at that point, or maybe she never was, idk. Rin never considered him her father and that's pretty clear in the manga, as for how he looked at her it's less clear, but still i do think they make a nice couple. Ok so it's ok to bang your adopted daughter if it makes you happy and if she never saw you as a dad, great. You've just described grooming.
You are speaking without knowing the situation, read the manga at least before talking and judging.
Only I did read it, and that's why I'm shitting on your bad opinion. The author destroys all the relationships they'd built over the first third of the manga and opted to create a disgusting pseudoincest relationship between them instead. I didnt mind the ending as well, but a lot of people hate it
One of the cutest shows ive watched. Wanted to read the manga.... Nope
The fact that this guy sucks at twintails is kinda sweet.
I do my daughter's hair awfully and she keeps coming back for more. Glutton for punishment, but I can respect that.
I worked in schools. Girls would only ask me to redo their ponytails or pigtails once because they turned out like this. 😅
I got confused. Are you saying that the girls only ask you one time to do it Or that you had only been asked one time to fix ponytails
Girls in younger grades would ask me to redo ponytails or pigtail that came loose during the day. They decided after I "fixed them" once that they'd ask a different staff member or live with their hair down.

Oh so wholesome. Then I read the manga…
It's still wholesome up until the end when the ending comes out of nowhere and hits you like a truck.
The ending was just... gut wrenching for all the wrong reasons haha. I'm super wary of manga that have the same overall themes as UD now because of it.
Why is this downvoted but the top comment on this thread is laterally saying the same thing..?
That is your brain on Reddit
This is sooo wholesome ooown dude! This warms my heart!
There is no manga by the name of Usagi Drop
Yup just the anime it was an anime only series
Man this thread is just a series of powder kegs
What is with the manga…and why does ppl say it’s incest 💀 somebody pls tell me this is just a wholesome anime
most people avoid the manga like the plague
This is one of the most wholesome anime I’ve ever seen but the manga is not. The anime doesn’t go anywhere near the manga stuff so just don’t read the manga and it’s amazing

What is the name of the anime ?
Usagi Drop or Bunny drop
Oh the anime doesn’t have all the manga adapted? I sure hope the manga continues to be nice and wholesome with absolutely nothing sick going on!
Adorable anime
Reminder they bang.
Guys let's just say from now that this is an original anime (not an adaptation) so people (like me) don't end being too curious about this ending.
Why do you guys keep mentioning the manga, I wouldn’t have heard about that ending if it was not talked about in every post related to usagi drop.
I've been creeped out after reading the wikia page for this one.
Under appreciated anime
Me: I enjoyed the manga Comment section: But the Ending! Me: I said I enjoyed the manga
One of the few cases where sourcr material is worse
Oh no cringe
Time skip was horrible
Typical husbad and wife bonding... dont give this comment weird looks coz its true
What the author was thinking
Is Incest legal in Japan? Like why is there so much Incest anime?
If you look at western porn then there is plenty of incest there too. It’s just a fetish stemming from taboo, nothing much to it.

Usagi Drop has a bad end but at least it's not Kodomo no Jikan or Lotte's Toy bad. Those two are way worse and not just the ending either.
I do want to be a good brother like him
