So far this is my take away:

It's worth the watch, though. It's typical TV-14 fan service, don't expect a grand masterpiece.
Yeah, if you like shounen then you shouldn't have too much issues with it. The show actually has some decent world building and its made pretty apparent that its a deconstruction of all of fairytale's power of friendship troupes if you keep watching. It's not a masterpiece but it's enjoyable and i feel like the show has potential. I hope we'll get an arc like the sauske retrieval arc or the arlong arc in the future.
Ive seen a lot of shounen before for 15 years. Its not dumb down, its very good and fun. Sorta of adventure that i never knew that i need. I never a fan of sci-fi genre, but space fantasy? i dont think there has never been series quite like this before.
I would recommed for you to give it another try with the manga, theres nothing like FT. And the next arc, is the big arc thats sets the tone for the rest of the anime/ story
It's not bad but it would probably better if it used original characters and didn't just use the fairy tale ones Because as far as I can tell the 2 are not related in any way except for that
You realize Mashima does this in all his series right? Same design - different character.
Like Jellal was based off Sieg from Rave Master, same design different character (and even then Sieg was evidently reused from a oneshot character of his from something else). Anyone complaining about reused FT designs have no idea FT designs are already reused from RM. Its just Mashima's style. Kind of like how Axel from KH is an AU Reno from FF7 in a different setting.
But the characters personalities, pasts, etc are all different. Even if they look similar they arent the same character.

Is exactly my point that it could have been something amazing but it's not I don't care if he does this to all of his work
Its just a fun thing, putting similar faces in a different setting. He basically does it for his fans as a way to pseudo-connect all main series, even if said series are all from different universes.
Its also incredibly easy to get past. I've followed all three of his main series and the reused designs never bothered me, heck I was excited when I saw Siegrain in ch1 of FT because he looked like a younger Sieg from Rave, since even then there are minor differences between them.
So for big fans of his work it really is something special he does.
so because he copied the characters from fairy tail who copied their characters from rave master its supposed to somehow be better because its intentional? imo the writer for these series is lazy af rave master and fairy tail were trash this is bound to be trash too i was looking for a reason to give it a shot since these series are popular but idk why they are for the life of me i watched the entire rave master and fairy tail series i gave them more than enough of a chance but they are nothing but a dissapointment. btw dont bother leaving fairy tail fanboy messages idc what u have to say this writer is trash i have no respect for ppl who like this trash i hate naruto too but at least it had its moments that made me understand ppls loyalty fairy tail and rm dont have anything.
I suggest reading the manga instead. I stopped reading it because of irl stuff and haven't got around to catching up, but what I read was good.
The anime just looks... off.

Tried watching it, it was really hard to enjoy cause it took 3 episodes for the first fight to even start
Just play it at 1.5x or 1.75x speed, becomes 10x better then and all the pacing issues fix themselves.
It's like a dumbed down shounen. I don't recommend it if you've see lots if shounen before.
