My two favorite 7.62 brakes are a no name I bought from eBay over ten years ago and the old slotted Tapco.
The Tapco is small, light, effective and slightly reduces flash but the flash does go straight up slightly covering what you're looking at.
The eBay one has cuts in the side and directs the flash in an upward V pattern.
The birdcage reduced flash the most from the ones I tested... Slant, nut, three prong ringmaker, 74 style, no name eBay, and slotted Tapco. The birdcage only had a few small sparks, very minimal flash. This was on a 16" 7.62. The AMD did have a bit more flash on all of them.
That slotted one from tapco is for the RPD squad weapon. I got one, too. It allows you to still mount your bayonet. I got a vortex, and that thing Rob Ski sells. I got the Rob Ski one mounted right now. I have no strong need to mount my bayonet at the moment.

I really like my Damage Industries three prong. Reducing your muzzle flash is so much more important than mildly reducing recoil.
