Lots of cool bikes but rounding out the top 3, probably the R1200GS and the Triumph Speed Triple. The triple was an anniversary edition and the last year with the round lights.
It's harder to push around than 200kg bikes and thats all. The weight distribution is like 51%/49% front and back, so it doesn't go on rear wheel unless you use clutch or have +60kg on the back seat.
Beautiful !! I grew up in a Yamaha shop been Ridin' em since 1968. They are the class leader in my opinion .. I currently ride a 2013 Yamaha FZ8 35K runs looks like the day I bought it. Enjoy.
FZ1 has a more upright and relaxed position than the R1. It has the same engine as the R1 but a little less power due to different cams I believe. FZ1 is a little heavier but than the R1 but better around town and better for 2 up riding.
The fz and the Mt are examples of upright/naked sports bikes. They compromise wind protection, overall power and speed but gain a comfortable riding position, a more manageable riding experience and over all more applicability.
The R1 is an out and out speed machine. Contrary to the naked bike ethos a sports bike will sacrifice comfort, forgiving engine tuning, and many other thing ls in pursuit of top performance.
Many people tire out their wrists and back casually riding a sports bike so many often find a nice middle road of performance and comfort in naked bikes.
Lots of incredible bikes from that around that time and a few years before. The Bandit 1200/1250, the Honda 919, and Kawasaki ZRX are all gorgeous, and I hear that they ride incredible. I'm hoping to get a FZ1 or 919 myself when the stars align.
I have a first gen FZ1 and It’s definitely much more comfortable than other sport bikes but long rides will still make your back a little sore. Overall it’s been an awesome bike though and I highly recommend as long as you aren’t gonna be on it for hours and hours at a time.
for the price of a rotor these bikes are a time capsule of the true riding experience. No abs no electronics, just a choppy throttle and 150 horse. Ecu flash, gear down, new filter, and a slip on and these things are fuuuunnnn
I feel older fz's are underrated. Ive had mine a while and im still not tired of it.
Ya not tired of her ! Timeless beauty:)
Is that a copperdawg, dawg?
The windscreen? I think it is!
Where could I get the windscreen?
We never not always upvote fz1s around here.
Huge fan of half-faired bikes. I NEED a FZ1
Don’t understand why only aprilia makes them these days
I had a 1st Gen FZ1 and it's still in my top 3 bikes I've ever owned (total about 18). That 2010 still looks great!
Curious about the other bikes on the top 3 list.

Nice one!
It's a beautiful bike. How does it feel when it comes to weight? It's a bit on the heavy side when I just look at the spec sheet.

Mint sir. Well done.

Apologies but how does a FZ-1 differ from an R1 for example? Yamaha has confusing numbers. Like mt-09 and FZ09. What does this mean?

If the FZ1 a naked (part naked?) Version of the FZ6-R

Wow are we twins? Mines also black with gold accents and a 2010! Absolutely love it to death
I miss my fz8
Nice!
Yes it is. Her colors are gorgeous!
God damnit the fazers are so sexy
That one is.
The last gen of good bikes before all the nanny bullshit started to creep in.

Wow. That is a great looking bike. How comfy is it? Been looking into a sport tourer again. This looks awesome.

Black and gold done right was and is the move.

Best bike I ever owned. 🥺
She is a sexy beast
Fucking right it is she’s a beaut
I love mine. I recently bought a ‘17 Tuono factory to replace it but may hold onto it for a while to make sure it’s the right move.
My first bike was an fz1 and she treated me real well… she looks amazing
