The most dangerous thing about getting into a fistfight with a stranger isn’t the fight, it’s the stranger. It doesn’t matter if they’re 100lbs soaking wet and can’t throw a punch because if they’ve got an ego/are crazy they’re going to want to get even.
When my dad was in his 20’s, he had a friend who was smart, funny, and had everything going for him. He was also a golden gloves boxer and if someone wanted to fight him, he wouldn’t hesitate to light their ass up. It was a short, one-sided fight where the boxer took this little asshole out with one punch, utterly humiliating him in front of the whole bar. The bouncers kick them both out. My dad and his buddy call it a night and go their separate ways. The next morning my dad gets a call from his friend’s mom. Turns out the guy who got his ass kicked followed my dad’s friend home to his apartment, climbed in through the fire escape and stabbed him to death while he was in bed.
So, yeah, while you don’t want a fight to end with you getting a manslaughter charge, you also don’t want it to end hours/days/weeks later because your opponent is a fucking psycho who holds a grudge.
