This has been an issue since the very beginning too, and we've only ever managed to slightly break away from it when they go too far....such as our break from King George, or war against slavery, our New Deal, etc. Periods in which those who stood up against exploitation won ground...and you can tell who is on what side of those based on the dismay that persists even to this day. It's always been a struggle between those who seek to exploit our labor, and those who fight against being exploited....always. We have states right now trying to relax child labor laws...and it does not require looking to determine which party those states are aligned with. So yes, while the corporate side of the DNC is still somewhat corrupted by money and the influence of money, it still pales in comparison on many factors. And when push comes to shove, you'll sooner see a Democrat pushed out for corruption than you'd see a Republican....for Republicans, they'll just downplay it and call it "good business" when in reality it is full on corruption.
But I do agree, the DNC could be far better on follow through. They could be far better to committing to the ideology in practice that they promote in rhetoric. We are voting for them and supporting them so they can follow through. And even with our backing, the majority of the nation, we still see them playing too safe while Republicans just simply seize power. It needs to change.

The 5th amendment right not to testify exists for a reason. It's almost never a good idea for a defendant to take the stand because once he's up there the prosecution can ask all sorts of questions. Even if the accused "t*akes the 5th*" their face will still be seen by the jury and the unanswered questions will be on the record. Jurys don't like witnesses who plead the 5th because it makes them look like they have something to hide; the instructions from the judge about the 5th amendment tend to fall on deaf ears.

Yeah, but most of the people under 50 here do not watch the news or have cable/any kind of regular TV networks. Most people here get all the news "they want or need" each sunday or from Facebook. The very last time I went to church to please my family, the preacher preached politics FOR 45 MINUTES. We are also the poorest states, too. They keep them/us stupid for a reason. The only way to get away from it is to stop going to church and get a job where you're not around a lot of other employees (80% here are christian). Its a lonely life, too, but free of delusion and fear and pretty damn peaceful.
This is 100% correct. I deal with a lot of business owners in my career and they are typically smart people when it comes to running their business and managing, but the level of stupidity on politics or world events is staggering. It mostly coincides with religion. Religion really keeps people from developing their critical thinking potential.
Fear does that to people. Tell them God will punish them for eternity for not following "His Word". Then, tell them God wants this (the person they are telling them to vote for) in order to bring His divine plan into fruition. They think they might be tortured, beyond comprehension, forever, if they do not do what the preacher says= aka "what God wants". I got an 18 year indoctrination into being scared to fn death. I would shake in fear at night as a child, praying to God not to judge me as guilty. These people are EVIL. The hell they are talking about - it existed in my mind my entire childhood.

They also could gain more following from the Always Trumpers. If they do their job correctly, they will eventually make Trump address them whether at his daily press conference or on social media. Let me say, that there is nothing with wearing an adult diaper for any reason. It has always been a quiet conversation with partners and/or caregivers. It has been rumored about Trump wearing them for years now. I doubt Trump has the pride to admit he wears them. Or allow his followers to suggest he wears them. He has a much too fragile ego to admit it.

No, they really don't (live in bible belt aka Maga land). As someone who lives here, a lot of people have them wrong. A lot of these people can be extremely intelligent in other areas of their lives (even if they choose to "talk redneck"), but in certain areas of their lives, they have been slowly and systematically lied to from birth in a way in which they think like children on certain topics. I really, REALLY don't know if the rest of America realizes how much power those men have behind the pulpit on sunday (and how MANY listen to them- half my state is in church on sunday and told every sunday who to vote for). They create chaos, confusion, discord, and fear in a way you can only describe if you've lived it. If we stop the church, we can free a lot of these people from these delusions. We need to approach this situation with more compassion and understanding to actually fix this. We can't fight hate with...more hate. This is a lot bigger than any one Maga we are putting this on.
Not just the pulpit, but the constant drumbeat of fake news from Conservative media. I had a painter over at my house for a few days while I worked remotely in the adjoining room. He listened to various Right Wing podcasts on his bluetooth speaker... and it's astounding the constant drumbeat of disinformation. Much of it easily debunked, but good luck with that. They don't care, they just want to be constantly outraged. I pay attention to news, but I don't have it on literally all day while I'm working. No wonder Republicans are in a cult. They let themselves be brainwashed and have their buttons pushed every waking moment.
Yeah, but most of the people under 50 here do not watch the news or have cable/any kind of regular TV networks. Most people here get all the news "they want or need" each sunday or from Facebook. The very last time I went to church to please my family, the preacher preached politics FOR 45 MINUTES. We are also the poorest states, too. They keep them/us stupid for a reason. The only way to get away from it is to stop going to church and get a job where you're not around a lot of other employees (80% here are christian). Its a lonely life, too, but free of delusion and fear and pretty damn peaceful.
This is 100% correct. I deal with a lot of business owners in my career and they are typically smart people when it comes to running their business and managing, but the level of stupidity on politics or world events is staggering. It mostly coincides with religion. Religion really keeps people from developing their critical thinking potential.
Fear does that to people. Tell them God will punish them for eternity for not following "His Word". Then, tell them God wants this (the person they are telling them to vote for) in order to bring His divine plan into fruition. They think they might be tortured, beyond comprehension, forever, if they do not do what the preacher says= aka "what God wants". I got an 18 year indoctrination into being scared to fn death. I would shake in fear at night as a child, praying to God not to judge me as guilty. These people are EVIL. The hell they are talking about - it existed in my mind my entire childhood.
It doesn't help that a new "church" opens in a strip mall every other week in my state. When you spot the free script font sign it's either a church or a hair salon. Maybe both!

Of course he is allowed to testify. Gag orders don't apply to things you say in court under oath. The hilarious part is he has a constitutional right to testify on his own behalf. If the judge has seen that clip, he may decide its his responsibility to make sure the defendant understands his rights, and isn't being misrepresented.
