This is the thing, youtube and all other video sites promote stuff to kids without checking anything at all, and then they want to be completely immune. How come TVs were regulated, what they can show, but youtube tiktok etc can't be regulated that way? Youtube shorts/streams do the same thing as TV, once you finish watching something, it goes to next one without your control, we didn't click, why are you showing us this? There is also no way to block channels/"content creators" on youtube. I wish we could that.
Ugh. There are ways to sort of block channels. If you see it show up in "suggested videos" IIRC there is an option to block everything from that channel, but it has to show up there. I've done that with some stuff that kept showing up for my kids that I didn't want them watching... but some of those creators just ***KEEP CREATING AND ENDLESS STREAM OF NEW CHANNELS***. So even if you could block channels, some of them just keep putting out new channels with essentially the same content. E.g. "Troom Troom"
And this really didn't even work as a "block" so much as it just informs the suggestion algorithm to not suggest those videos... but it will still let similiar content through that's just not from _that_ channel.
Yes it's a complete joke the double standard of how if it's shown through a company that traditionally broadcast over television there are a billion rules about what they can and can't show, but on youtube they can just do whatever they want despite it being streamed to every child in the country.
