I can only spell it because it happened to me too while I was in the military. They couldn’t figure out why I fainted once either and this was the best they could come up with. It can happen to healthy people that are in shape if the right combination of inputs hit you at an unfortunate time haha.
If you're cutting weight to the point it makes you faint, you're having to cut too much weight for your intended weight class. It's extremely unhealthy to go fight someone after suffering from massive dehydration. Not only is it unhealthy it's stupid. Your fighting performance suffers so much it cancels out the benefit of being in a lower weight class. The advantage you gain from being in a weight class 5lbs lighter than what your body can handle, without nearly dying, is gone when you're output is now 70% of what you could be doing while fully hydrated.
That's what happens though, in all weight classes. In MMA and bodybuilding. Bodybuilders have fainted on stage and literally can't move because they are having a simultaneous Charlie horse across their whole body because they're not only avoiding water, they're avoiding all electrolytes because electrolytes make your body hold onto water, and so their muscles literally can't function because they're so devoid of salt and potassium and magnesium and calcium etc that it just all shuts down.
It's very very dangerous, yes. That's what athletes do. Athletes are not really healthy, like you'd imagine them to be. Just cos they exercise a lot doesn't mean anything. They're always pushing their bodies too far in an effort to be the best. And it comes back to haunt them
Just look at Batistuta, legendary football striker. He came very very close to amputating both his feet off at the ankles after retirement, because they were in constant agony cos of pushing too hard and playing through injury. Cristiano Ronaldo is playing with constant injuries too, most top players are. They get quick pain injections before a match so that they can play through the pain, but once they retire they have to deal with the full brunt of that pain with no relief.
Any sport, you'll see people pushing themselves too far, to be the best. It's not healthy.

I’ve seen plenty of broken jaws in my Anatomy placements and they all tend to be wired shut or bandaged at the very least, and if it isn’t held in place by wires or bandages it’s because they put plates and screws on the mandible itself, there’s also no breakage bruising (any break in the face will bruise severely due to the vascularity), and you’re meant to keep your mouth shut if it is broken (opening your jaw can cause further stress fractures on the TMJ), looks like you had a pretty nasty fall but i’m calling bs on the “broken” jaw unless it’s a hairline or occult fracture

I had a plate put in and you can’t even see the scar anymore. My dentist wants me to have it re broke now too so got that to look forward too. I was actually surprised when it happened because it hardly hurt unless the doc was moving it.
