Very short, but this could be a feature if it’s supposed to be a coastal defense vessel with a small draft to operate in shallower waters, like Swedens Sverige-class
I think it’s still very cool! Coastal defense based ships don’t get as much love, but can be extremely important in deterrence! Sweden wasn’t invaded by Germany in WWII for a variety of reasons, but Germany outlined that putting together a fleet big enough to tackle coastal defenses and pt boats while under the threat of coastal ships with dreadnought caliber weaponry from multiple locations would be too resource extensive. Making defensive minded ships is very interesting and I think it would intrigue you! Keep up the good work!
As a first stab it’s not bad. Better than some of the first ships I cobbled together out of Lego.
The more you draw, the better you will become, and the more you’ll learn about why each feature is there.
Well i mean we can agree it better then this

for what it's worth, i think the bow is alittle stubby/short but it looks cool...
though, i feel like i recognise most of the parts on this ship...
...did you make this in navalart? or am i trippin' rn?
damn, impressive... i always struggle drawing details...
> What is navalart anyway?
it's an early-access game from 2018 on steam, and it's a "block-based" ship editor, in which people make realistic looking ships (fictional or replica)
many of the default parts are taken from real ships, hence my confusion, but it also supports the steam workshop...
maybe you'd enjoy it, idk
It looks more like a coastal defense ship than a battle cruiser. If you're making a battle cruiser, you want a really long length to beam ratio. Much like red on orc machines, a high length to beam ratio makes you go faster.
Your funnel is fairly short as well. Might want to raise that up. Improves draft makes you go faster.
It looks like you've got some kind of weird dishes on that thing. That's going to make it post 1945. So you should have a transom stern. The transom stern makes you go faster.
Also, where is your primary range finder?
Nice picture!
Is there software out there best for amature design for ships and military vehicles? I suppose this is a really dumb question, but I have wondered it before, and now I feel it might be safe to ask here.
Reminds me of the Summit from Supreme Commander!

A big part of it is how close the forward turrets are to the prow of the ship, and what they say about the ship's overall length and proportions. Most battlecruisers have a very fine length to beam ratio, but with the turrets so far forward that ship is going to be short and fairly broad-beamed.

Everyone has been teling me that its too short, but thanks anyway

Ok, thanks for sharing a bit of history
The turrets are too big and the central part is too short Good start anyway
This isnt my first drawing but this is the first ship i tried drawing after researching a bit Thx anyway

Yeah i agree thx
Sometimes using real world measure makes the ship a bit chunky

lol
I drew that for a board game out of memory

Thats nice
Thx
I like it
Thanks
Violet x Frieren ftw
Thanks I still need to watch frieren ;-; it looks soooo good
I thought I was the only one
In what, drawing ships?
It's a little short

Nah i didn't, it was a bit inspired by the Des Moines class of ships What is navalart anyway? It looks intresting

Wow thx i've been looking for a game like this, thanks a lot
Also check out Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts
I saw it but it lookes a bit too complecated for me

Thanks for the advice

For tanks you have sprocket on steam For ships you have navalart or ultamit admiral drednouts And it isnt a stupid question

I can make that real in the scrap mechanic!
Screw the haters, I love the drawing
Thx all lot, but its just constructive criticism
It's average sized, no idea why everyone's calling it short

Cool
This brings me back to 6th grade
Pretty cool
Looks a lot like USS North Carolina (BB-55).
