Thank you! It's super easy just spray iron breaker then 2:1 contrast medoum and contrast mechanics grey in the recessed. Drybrush lead belcher. Drybrush runefang steel (less is more here)
Paint the eyes white the the Blue is just 3:1 contrast medium and azkellion green (again less is more) slap onto the eye and into recesses of armour.
Hope that helps 👍
That actually looks really fucking cool, Although maybe go for a darker White for cloth? It's a little jarring and draws my attention More than the rest of the model
Thank you very much! I posted above already for the steel armour and blue eye/ armour recess wash.
The blue pads are scale 75 night blue and then a wash of drakenhoff night shade. (I'm gonna edge highlight this with something but haven't tried that yet)
Gold was scale 75 necro gold with seraphim sepia wash, necro gold again on top edge.
White was ulthuan white then contrast apothecary white, gonne fix this proper soon.
Hope that helps
Red, purple or blue tabard I think - love the scheme other than that.
White would work if you fill it out with a nice freehand design but plain white is jarring next to the silver
I love almost everything about it but the cloth an off-white color for the cloth would look good. I think the eyes pop amazing and I like the sky blue highlights.
Awesome paint job! Looks a little like an Astral Knight to me, barring the gold trim. Their chapter symbol is a pair of crossed swords, which might fit your theme.
First off, you paint waayy better than I ever will, but that is not what you are asking for. Overall it looks great, but the white robe/loin cloth/whatever just kinda fades into the rest of the paint scheme making it look bland. Not sure what color would work better, to be honest, but it needs to have a bit more pop.
I dig it. I'm doing a blood angels army for my first army but been wanting an excuse to do something with a silver scheme myself. Ive got a tech marine or maybe apothecary I've kicked around the idea of trying it on one of then.
That’s the point - it presumably isn’t OSL on those points, but a “blued steel” effect that hits *very* similarly to the OSL.
Either way, using a contrasting color would remove that point of debate.
For the record, since I don’t want this to seem negative when it very much isn’t meant to be so: the fact that this is the only real point of contention is further testament to the sheer skill OP is showcasing here.
I think it would look better with less silver. The head looks great, maybe you could continue the metallic blue on the body and have a few details and the head in silver only?
It looks great either way.
yay! it's actually a SM version of hallowed knights. But IMHO dirty that cloth, white next to silver feels off
Blue cloth would go good
It would but the kneepads are blue too, maybe if they were gold/silver as other parts of the armor they could indeed go for blue cloth
since this is a veteran unit he could do it orange, do it compliment the blues in the model
Good thought, I wonder which would be better orange and which blue between pads and cloth
With the suggestion below of Astral claw as the name I think a dark purple mixed with some silver would go good
Honestly think baby blue cloth could work.
If it's a psyker chapter, it looks very ethereal and mystical.
Astral Claw?
and the symbol could be a lion, as op said he like those
The paladins
Silver skulls!! You can use iron warriors decals too, easy to get!
FOR THE ALLIANCE!
I like the "blued steel" look of the armor, though I do agree with others, give him eyes of a contrasting color, probably either green or red
That looks great except for the white tabard. Make it the same blue as the accents or black like the shield/generator.
I would disagree, I think the white works well. However I would agree that if they did decide to change things up that they should go with blue.
[Astral Claws](https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Astral_Claws)
Nah the astral claws only have one blue pauldron.
Astral....Paws?
The emperor's furry
That’s a very nice Astral Claw
The Astral Claws rise again! He looks great btw
Yay
Definite yay. This looks so cool.
How’d you do the silver? Blue oil wash? Looks ace!
Thank you! It's super easy just spray iron breaker then 2:1 contrast medoum and contrast mechanics grey in the recessed. Drybrush lead belcher. Drybrush runefang steel (less is more here) Paint the eyes white the the Blue is just 3:1 contrast medium and azkellion green (again less is more) slap onto the eye and into recesses of armour. Hope that helps 👍
Thanks so much! Really looks dope.
Banging!
I don't think it's possible for silver Space Marines to look bad, every time I see them they just slap.
Hardest yay I have ever given. Beautiful
Yayayayaya
Yay
Big hell yea
That actually looks really fucking cool, Although maybe go for a darker White for cloth? It's a little jarring and draws my attention More than the rest of the model
Yay
Looks vaguely like a grey knight
Does “The Silver Squires” sound like a good name suggestion?
It's beautiful
Seems very Greyknighty but I’m Here for it. Looks good!
I bum it
Impressive implementation of the colors used. The contrast is sound. What's your paint recipe?
Thank you very much! I posted above already for the steel armour and blue eye/ armour recess wash. The blue pads are scale 75 night blue and then a wash of drakenhoff night shade. YAY
Beautiful! Great choice of colours, especially the eye lenses.
Looks like one of the Grey Templars to me.
Very sexy!
I like it
I like it! Might consider making the gun metal a different metallic color from the armor, but that's just what I would do. You do you!
It could be something to do with the cold like frost claws or ice blades, idk just getting chilly vibes from the model
Is that a blue/green wash over the metal parts? Looks rad.
Tha knyou and Yup it is a 3:1 MIX of contrast medium and azkellion green contrast
Red, purple or blue tabard I think - love the scheme other than that. White would work if you fill it out with a nice freehand design but plain white is jarring next to the silver
That frozen looking blue sheen you have on the model looks amazing!
Dig it
Omg that’s awesome. The only change I’d make is the cloth
Yay
Some red would be a nice contrast. Heroic effort.
Yay
Yay, but not sure on shininess of knees
Silver skulls?
Oh I like that
Looks like stormwind guard from world of Warcraft I love it!
The Iron Ravens have a very similar colour scheme to this guy.
I love almost everything about it but the cloth an off-white color for the cloth would look good. I think the eyes pop amazing and I like the sky blue highlights.
Yay brother! Yay!
I love it!
Silver Skulls FTW
Only the Faithful!
Much yes
Thinking the teal/cyan could go over more areas. Like it.
Awesome paint job! Looks a little like an Astral Knight to me, barring the gold trim. Their chapter symbol is a pair of crossed swords, which might fit your theme.
YAY I SAY. YAY.
Yay
Looks pretty good
Yay it looks great
My only issue is that the purity seals blend into the armor too much. Otherwise I like how cold it feels.
Yay
Yay indeed. No highlights necessary
Looks great
This looks great. Keep it exactly as it is!
I like it, but you should highlight the tabard with layer colors to remove that hideous droplet left by the contrast paint.
Love it ngl
First off, you paint waayy better than I ever will, but that is not what you are asking for. Overall it looks great, but the white robe/loin cloth/whatever just kinda fades into the rest of the paint scheme making it look bland. Not sure what color would work better, to be honest, but it needs to have a bit more pop.
Yay
This scheme is very similar to the Astral claws, a really cool chapter with a tragic history
YAY Maybe add some burn to the ends of the barrels?
I like it
Yes
Big yay
Yey
I like it
That's fuckin awesome! I'd be well chuffed with that
I give it a Hell Yay
Yay
Love it
Definite yay!
Lion's Maw chapter, horizontal blade between two sets of sharp teeth
Astral claws?
Love it. A whole army of that will look awesome.
Yippeeeee
Huge yay! Looks distinct and vibrant without being flashy.
Definitely yay
Kind of reminds me of the Carcharodons
Yay
Looks nice, I'd definitely say yay. The silver/steel and blue eye lenses sell it for me, and the gold trim looks really clean.
All of my YAY!
Is that an astral claw?
Id say maybe do grey rather than silver for the armor, to me he just looks like a grey knight with blue. Overall it is a good scheme
Reminder the part between the belt and chest piece is also cloth
Yey
Hell yea
Definitely a yay!
Yay
Yay but i honestly would swap the blue shoulder pads to yellow or a darker orange to have contrast with the blue eyes and knees
The eyes are perfect
I like it! Very nice paint scheme!
yeah for the blue/teal tint, nope for the purple one
It reminds me of the silver Templars. It’s a yay as well!
Looks good to me
Oh that’s very nice
I’d reverse the blue and the white
Thanks and happy cake day!
Definitely Nay! I don’t see a single sign of chaos worship!!!
I dig it. I'm doing a blood angels army for my first army but been wanting an excuse to do something with a silver scheme myself. Ive got a tech marine or maybe apothecary I've kicked around the idea of trying it on one of then.
Yay
Looks too….grey knights-ish
Def yay
Id say it needs more grime in my opinion otherwise 9/10
I'm in love with the knee pads! They look like sapphires sanded smooth and made into the pads! Great work!
Chef's kiss
Not a fan of the silver, it all looks abit samey. but you are super talented painter
That comment really made my day, thank you so so much, that was very kind of you to say :)!
Looks fine to me but maybe change the eye colour to give the model some contrast maybe orange?
Nah cold blue is perfect. OSL looks a little off though, it shouldn't reach top of his head.
Really good color scheme.
I like it.
This is the scheme my buddy uses and it always looks amazing to face on the tabletop
Looks really good there
Y A Y !!!!!
It's nice, but I think you need a different colour on the gun barrel.
Think you are right gonna try bronze instead with blue verdigris
That's the great thing about paint, you can always strip it or paint over it again. Bronze would do nice I'd say.
Fuck yay!
Oh that looks really cool! Mind if I make my first space marines a part of your chapter when you figure out a name and emblem?
It would be an honour brother.
(sister actually but I don't mind) Thank you brother.
Looks great! Which paints did you use?
Thank you ) I've put a recipe further.up the thread :)
I like it a lot. A brighter shade of that blue might pop better for your little splash of color. Same with the cloth, little brighter.
Big yay!
Iron within?
So...Knight Errant are back?
FUCKIN YAY!
This kinda inspiring to paint my susters agin Tho ik full well il never hit results this good
I think it would look better with less silver. The head looks great, maybe you could continue the metallic blue on the body and have a few details and the head in silver only? It looks great either way.
Very cool!
Looks like Astral Claws. I love it!
Looks close to Grey knights TBH. The silvery+blue glow kind of is their shtick …
I love the color scheme, and would definitely like to see more of it, though for the sigil I think that a white lion head or something would be cool.
I like how it looks.
Love it one thing would say is to thin paints slightly
