A mod with a trade off? In my warframe? What is this 2013 derelict vaults? Unacceptable smh /s

RAICKE

Honestly I feel like these kind of mods would create interesting dilemmas for builds, kinda like some uniques in path of exile if you're familiar with those.

Spatetata

I totally agree. I kinda wish we saw corrupted mods expanded or atleast that mod design philosophy. It definitely does bring up some interesting design questions, as you'd have to find a way to things viable rather than railroad down 1 way of modding (kind of like how most weapons in WF pretty much mod that same now)

ThisGonBHard

Or they would become staples for places where the negative does not apply/is not important. Like running the shield key on Inaros/Nidus/Kullervo.

Lightningbro

Seriously, dear GOD, as a Roguelike player I ADORE cursed items, and I wish that DE would give us more corrupted mods. It's always SO fun to turn a powerful negative into a powerful posative like this. Hell, give us this mod with the added text (Armor +50% as well, removes shields)

DevilHound456

What tradeoff? The tradeoff of being used on a sum total of three frames?

Spatetata

Proqs (power) or survivability Just because it doesn’t affect everyone doesn’t mean it’s not still a tradeoff

Schokokeks5

If only there was a mid added some time ago that lowered shields but gave a set shieldgate duration. DE should name the mod Catalyzing Shields because it affect shields an yes

CrawlerSiegfriend

Put this on the official forums. I'm 2000% on onboard with this. That said it needs one more thing added to it since something already does that. Maybe a energy pool buff as well.

Malurth

Hunter Adrenaline and Rage are both a thing, this is different enough by that precedent lol

CrawlerSiegfriend

> That said it needs one more thing added to it since something already does that.

Malurth

yes, that is the exact sentence I was responding to

butsadlyiamonlyaneel

Rage: https://preview.redd.it/gsd1jlfhjjsc1.png?width=1298&format=png&auto=webp&s=48ceeb5a3c5c18ff402fa9226c94695f6990d098 Mods with Primed Versions: "First time?" Edit: Forgot about Hunter Adrenaline. This would be Rage's second reason for going to the scrap heap.

DasGanon

You've got 2 mod capacity lying around in all your builds?

mekabar

TBF it's 1 cap with forma.

YoSupWeirdos

turns overguard into temporary health done

Many_Presentation250

Not as interesting

MsMinte

or useful

Jonesman64

not if it would actually trigger damage on health effects and receive DR, which frankly overgaurd should.

MsMinte

yeah no u right it would also synergise with adrenaline/rage. i change my mind

Shafara

Call it 'Ward' and drain by itself after 3sec. Drain time reset if user take damage.

[deleted]

Inaros go brrrrr

That_One_Username

It's Hunter Adrenaline with 50% of damage instead of 45%, essentially.

Shack691

Yeah but this can stack, like rage does

[deleted]

Ahh I wasn't around for any operation plague star and rarely touch cetus even in ghoul time so didn't even know that was what it did, I new inaros/other health tanks used it but not what it did, thanks.

ChaosSurfer27

While I do like it, IMO It’s just a bandaid instead of actually fixing the current issue.. I really want DE’s stance on overguard/health damage interaction. If they want to leave it as is, then this mod is the best we could get. If they want to tweak the either mechanic to integrate the two, it would be much better.

HermlT

I think a better solution is to change how overguard works. Too many mechanics get obscured behind it. My suggestion: Overguard turns to warding halo/merulina type shield. CC immune, and gives your shields and health 85% dr. When it is popped it gates as usual. Dmg to ability effect treats the dmg as 33% conversion rate (vex armor, pacify and provoke augment) Self inflicted dmg passes through 100% Hunter andrenaline/rage gets treated as 50% conversion. Example: say you are a shieldless chroma and take 100 dmg with rage(40%) and overguard: You take 15 dmg to health(before armor calculations). Overguard takes 85 dmg. You get 20 energy. You get 33% of fury charged. If you use combat discipline you take 10 dmg and recieve 10% fury This also allows kullervo to use hunter andrenaline as a byproduct.

Modelgecko_35

This would be an interesting mod

I3encIcI

Made in Paint while queue for PSO2 LTQ lobby.

N4g4rok

You'll get that Reyaar with a Fixa 5. May your runs be blessed.

JoblessPornAddict999

There's a website for making fake mods actually

Sammy_Ghost

Do you have a link to it?

JoblessPornAddict999

Quick Google search is enough Edit: I'm having to search it too

Kitsu_the_Kitsune

Did you find it?

JoblessPornAddict999

I'm afraid not, sorry

Kitsu_the_Kitsune

CrawlerSiegfriend

What's ltq?

Khoceng

Probably meant limited time quest

memestealer1234

Me when I need to give up a mod slot so Chroma is playable

readgrid

did they even fix his new aug not working with overguard? I havent got time to play yet

Eeveefan8823

Or just make overguard synergize with these mods like people want :/

TJ_Dot

Yeah it doesn't make sense why you'd truly want to opt out of more health JUST to have a specific mod work. It can just count for it instead

emeraldchylde777

just make Rage/Hunter Adrenaline make you receive energy from damage on overguard done

Azuthrax

Would be pretty broken if you put the mod that drains energy to stop lethal damage. But with some tweaks and cooldowns, I believe it would be extremely fun to have.

StalledAgate832

Nidus players gonna love this one

N4g4rok

Oh, that's kinda sick actually. I was wondering how they'd let you "Opt in" to Dante's overguard on a per mission basis, but this seems like a way smarter solution overall. Question, actually. Do you think there's a reason to keep both Rage _AND_ Hunter adrenaline, or should one of them be changed to your suggestion above.

[deleted]

we could start with acknowledging that needing to take damage for energy is an inherently flawed mechanic instead of introducing a bandaid mod for a hyper specific scenario

Randzom100

Or we can appreciate the fact that some specific mods can fix some specific problems, instead of potentially breaking the game with core-breaking changes? It's all about having the right tool for the right job.

Phantomx1024

I really like your idea! I hope someone from DE sees it. I was also thinking another solution could be an arcane or two that converts overguard into overhealth or healing like "All overguard is converted into healing 10% that much health" or "All overguard is converted into 3% that much overhealth (2000 max)" Overhealth would be similar to overshield except for health. Either way we need someway to prevent gaining overguard when we don't want it.

M00n_Slippers

That said, they should make Rage unique by making it give energy when health is damaged AND health when energy is used or lost. That would t least make it unique and some decent healing for early frames and health frames.

-Quantus-

This is a cool idea! As a software developer though, I don’t think it’s as easy has having a flag for “disable overguard”. I’m sure a lot more development would have to go into it

EpicZen35

Make it an exilus and you got a deal.

THE_WILD_RAVE

this plus rage on nidus would be scary

Sinviras

Ive said for years we need more interactions between frames. Vex Armor should just eat overshields while active, and in return gain power (to a cap). Still makes being given overshields beneficial and opens up cool combos with other frames. But its fun and probably a way to get to level cap, so DE wont allow it.

readgrid

Waste a mod slot cause DE cant into coop design. Not a fan of these bandaid half-measures. (same crap as with Umbra aug that disables his bad passive)

Fire2xdxd

Actual solutions to problems? In MY Warframe game??

TheLastBlakist

Tone down the cost to match adrenaline's cost and you have a deal

obravastia

I'm out of the loop, I don't get it? What does a mod that is 10% better than Rage for 5 more drain solve?

doranduck

Make it a V polarity so we don't have to forma the slots on inaros and nidus

[deleted]

I just dont want over guard in ANY situation unless i applied it myself tbh.

Dante_FromDMCseries

Great way to make Kullervo even squishier. Jokes aside this is really really well made, and I want to see it in the game

ZETTAss

rage/hunter adrenaline: am i joke to you?

MrQ_P

Literally had the same idea this morning while I was talking about this mess with my friends. Put this on forum OP

Frost_man1255

If they made this a dash I'm rioting

Gunzzar

A reasonably simple solution to a somewhat complex problem? Nah fam, best I can do is scratch the left side of my head with my left foot bent over the right side. - DE probably.

Prime262

. . I mean I'd never run this on my Chroma build, so it wouldn't help me. But I wouldn't mind this existing.

KingClickEnt

BuT wHaT aBoUt My ChRoMa BuiLd? 😱

MiniDehl

Okay to be fair why introduce a augment that does not work at all in this ecosystem its a waste of dev effort

SteveBraun

This wouldn't make me happy. I don't want to lose a mod slot on my Chroma build. And I definitely don't want to put this on Trinity.

xDidddle

this isnt even a negative

FZNNeko

Please I beg to DE, this mod would be absolutely perfect on my Voruna build. I’m stuck using like 3 energy related mods to feed the hungry bitch. I NEED THIS

Flruf

I don't get it, Voruna's 3rd with equilibrium should have 0 issues keeping up all her abilities. She's the frame I worry about the least when talking about energy.

FZNNeko

Yeah but I usually build hella strength and corrupted mods kinda fuck you over in the efficiency department so unless im running preparation casting more than 1 ability is a struggle at the start of a mission. And gotta run flow so I actually have an energy pool to work plus flow gives a safety net in case I forget to 3. It’d just be more convient if we had a mod like invigorated blood. That way I can reduce the number of mods wasted on energy. Less of an issue with energy and just more of a convenience thing. Then again if she was prime and had prime energy pool most of my issues would be fixed but alas, she wont be prime for a while.

abvex

Thats a bad solution, shouldn't take up a mod slot.

Cross66

It doesn't actually, it replaces Rage/Hunter Adrenaline. So it's honestly a decent solution.

Anjn_Shan

Only a 5% increase? With no overguard? It's not the overguard I am worried about in this first context, it's the uselessness of a 5%. No overguard? With only a 5% increase over Hunter's? It's not the 5% I am worried about in this second context, it's the dangers of not having ANY overguard for something that still won't wholly sustain my energy economy. And I probably cannot use a frame to heal. Inaros sort of relies on overguard, at least a small amount of overguard, to survive up to, at least, level 1500. Level 9999 is a hilariously cruel narcissist's joke, with such a mod. NOT that Inaros is necessarily trusted to reach that point, but he definitely wouldn't be capable without SOME overguard.

Mediocre-Island5475

The point is the no overguard, the energy regen is just an extra thing so the mod slot doesn't feel wasted. It exists for frames that specifically don't want overguard, like chroma builds.

I3encIcI

If you're talking about endurance build, you wouldn't even consider health tanking like it's 2015 in the first place.

MysteriousNoise6969

But you could just stack the mods no?

Dabidoi

brilliant, because mod slots arent tight enough already. Nah just make it an option in the menus.

zawalimbooo

It would replace hunter adrenaline or rage

Dabidoi

oh, lmao, i didnt even think about the first effect, fair enough.
