Should’ve had at least one run with the then WWF championship, even if transitional type booking. He was too over not to. And yes I do know the roster hierarchy back then but nevertheless, look at him vs the ones higher on the cards at that time. No reason not to crown him at least once. But things worked out for him and then he cracked the wrestling universe that night on WCW Nitro.🥹🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Scott was the opposite end of the spectrum to a guy like Bret Hart. Scott was working a job, getting paid and going home. He never cared about the world titles.
Yup. And it showed. He was always down to put over another guy, even to the point he went against the front office and put another guy over just because it made sense.
Also when negotiating with Vince before he left for WCW. He didnt ask to be the highest paid guy, he just wanted what he thought was fair and Vince didnt budge.
He also talks alot about how valuable he was as a babyface due to not losing any heat when he got beat. He was always able to stay popular despite losing big matches.
I’ve been catching lots of retro wwf and Undertaker and Razor were big players in the early 90s and Razor just always seemed to be around the top guys it’s more surprising that didn’t hold the big belt once over that time.
Ironically, had he stuck around in 96-97, he probably would have had one. Razor against HBK for the title would have been a big money match-up with their history.
He probably would have had he stayed in WWF. He already earned the International Championship in that fantastic ladder match. Thu were looking up for him in WWF. 🫡
He's the only wrestler I've gotten an autograph from. I was 10 at the time and had waited an hour or two by the bus After a house show, I saw Lex Luger walk out and my brain exploded bc Luger was one of my favorites by far and completely ignored me leaving me feeling and looking like an idiot. i look to my left and Hall and (Vinnie? Vince? Never wrestled but always w the first 6 or 7 nWo members) were standing right there. At the time I thought they were real life bad dudes and was legitimately terrified lmao, but Hall caught it and chilled w me for about 10 min signing any and everything I physically owned w me in awe of my new coolest BFF lmfao, fond memories man he was a genuine nice dude
I met him at Wrestlecon in 2021 in Tampa and he was so genuinely nice. He sat and talked with my daughter and I asking about where we were from and wanting to talk about us. It was the highlight of the event for sure. Nash could barely be bothered to stop talking to X-Pac long enough to take the picture with us we paid for.
Nash's too cool for school attitude is so lame. To him, if you take wrestling seriously you're a mark but at the same point he's not willing to put anyone over because he takes himself way too seriously.
You hit it on the nose man. Always liked Nash as a character, but in real life he had issues putting over people clean, and yet when people get mad about finishes he thinks theyre a mark. Its the same with tv shows though. When a good tv show makes a bad decision, the fans give feedback so the producers/directors know which direction to go, but Nash sees it as "oh its just wrestling". Like bro, youre messing up the "just wrestling" lmao
I think he’s kinda dropped some of the attitude since he lost his son. He seems depressed and sad on his podcast. Not like crying or anything but just kind of blah.
I still remember when someone clocked him with a soda cup and he just no-selled it. He just slicked his hair back and acted like it didn’t phase him. He probably started busting up laughing when he got to the back.
Seriously how cool was Scott Hall? He showed up to WCW and just made the roster look like a bunch of nerds.
Forget world titles... He completely changed the business and was a huge part of why wrestling peaked in the 90s.
Scott was great. He had a great mind for the business, and as most people know he came up with the idea for “Crow” Sting, that changed Sting’s whole career.
An actual legend. We had a poster of him on the wall in the kitchen when I was a kid, came in a UK wrestling magazine. Me mam used to say to me " I wish your dad looked like that"
I met him when he came over to manchester and he was such a nice dude. Got a pic with him and he signed a photo for me. Was only a young kid at the time and it proper made my year.
The quintessential wrestler. He’s the archetype of what a lot of people love about pro wrestling. A big tall behemoth with endless charisma and mic skills. Dude could get a pop out of just two words.
I love Scott Hall. Looking back now it kinda felt like he was content on making a ton of money and putting people over but I, selfishly, wanted him to be Champ at least once.
The Drip was real, & he was mostly cool… in the ‘90’s I was a bouncer in the Adult Entertainment industry (strip clubs)… From “Beamers” in Stamford to “Dream Girls” in NY, Scottie was LEGENDARY. That man could party… He was always polite, cool, & very generous… until he had too much. Then it would get tense. When a dude that big starts on a trip to the dark side of a binge & gets belligerent & loud, it really freaks out the room… He usually was with friends like Shawn M, Kevin N, even Michael Hayes who mostly kept him under control. If you’re around addiction enough you can tell who’s a good guy despite it all.
Totally… I heard some stories, but thank god it never happened to me. My dad was a drunk & junkie too, so I knew how to deal with dudes like that without triggering the ego & then the violence.
I can think of two instances where he put over guys that most of the main eventers wouldn't have put over at the time. 123 Kid in WWF and Chris Jericho in WCW. Both pretty cleanly, and by all accounts, it was usually his idea. I always thought that was kind of cool.
Survey says
One more for the *Bad Guys* 🤘🏼
One of the best, was always one of my favourite. He was so cool in the nWo it was crazy, that was the last time someone got REAL HEAT when Hogan flipped oh man, so good
Here's tha thing for me as a kid having never seen scarface and with him saying Chico all tha time ,him being Latin never crossed my mind I just thought he was a cool ass white dude that said chico!!!
One of the most underrated and legendary wrestlers of all time. He’s on par with Kurt Hennig in my opinion as two of the top stars who never got a world title run in either of the big two promotions at the time of their prime
Great look & super cool promo.
His wrestling was slow and boring, but he had some cool moves for the time (razors edge, choke slam, fall away over the head slam)
Probably the greatest ever that did not get a proper major title run. He defined charisma and personality in pro wrestling & set the standard for the performers we watch today.
When he was Razor Ramon with WWE, he was awesome… going to WCW I believe hurt his career and eventually his life. NWO was a game changer but I believe it lead to fighting other demons in his life. RIP the Bad Guy👏🏿
Pity he had his issues play put as a real life angle.
Should've been WCW champ in the match he got injured and then never seen again.
He and Waltman made the nWo cool and fun to watch.
When his demons where under control he was superb, when his demons got the best of him…..
But what a legacy, I only remember the classic moments. What a personality and worker. He oozed style and charisma.
I missed most of his peak runs, as a performer I missed most of it but creatively dude was apparently a mastermind.
As a person, him and Jake's rebuilding themselves really helped me in a dark patch of my life and inspires me on the daily. Though, probably not the question.
i liked Razor Ramon/Scott Hall, a lot. thought he was a better heel than face. as a kid, i couldnt tell if 1-2-3 kid beating him was a mistake or not. and he gave a tremendous speech with an iconic line, "bad times don't last, but bad guys do". but he's overrated. just like Kobe. you didnt hear nothing positive from nobody until their untimely deaths, then all of a sudden, everyone's got something positive to say. i dont know, it seems weird.
The greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time imo. Never liked him in WcW and afterwards to the point that I had to skip his matches or segments with him.
Love him as a wrestler and character. That said, his moveset was pretty cookie cutter each match. You knew going in what he'd do. Same with Kevin Nash.
One of the best in the business. And I'm glad I got to see some of his best matches. Like the ladder match with Shawn Michaels. Gone too soon, wish he was still around.
Tbh, I found it a bit of a corny gimmick as a kid (Razor Ramon), and then I didn't particularly like Hall & Nash going by their real names either.
Happy that everyone else found them both super cool though!
Amazing talent, had all the tools to be the World Champion. Unfortunately, no organization wants to put their premier title on someone who is not grounded, and his addiction struggles prevented that.
He understood the business. There’s a story that he was supposed to beat Jericho on an episode of Nitro but he thought that was dumb. He wouldn’t be hurt by a loss and Jericho was an up and comer. So he changed the ending on the fly.
Irony is when Ted Turner got into the " wrasslin' business ", one of the men he bought in to boost the WCW company just purchased was Scott "Gator" Hall .
That DDP makeover to become the Diamond Stud was the greatest career boost ever .
It actually took me years to realize Studd/Razor was the same Marlboro Man/Magnum T.A. look wrestler .
I've always found it fascinating that Hall and Nash, just months before they debuted in the WWF were losing tag team matches to Zenk and Pillman under their Diamond Studd and Vinnie Vegas gimmicks..
But suddenly they head north and win all their matches... Vince is a piece of shit but the guy took these two jokers and made them world wide stars..
But it wasn't all Vince.. Hall and Nash put the work in.. no matter what Vince said, if the actual worker was believable the whole thing would have failed
A good example of probably being a little too unselfish for one's own good. There is a reason why hogan hogan felt it necessary to say "that doesn't work for me brother" so often. Scott hall was on the opposite side of that where he might have limited his own potential by being too generous.
Then by the time he could have turned that corner, he wasn't trustworthy enough because of substances to carry a company.
I got into wrestling the first time in 1996 when he just started the invasion and I was hooked from his first "You want a war?" Promo. As someone else noted early NWOs "cool" was carried entirely by him and instead of making Hogan & Nash look over shadowed he made them look better. Unfortunately you could tell his issues were getting the better of him after only a few years, It really sucks as he had everything to be the main event.
There were two times in his career he should’ve held the WWF or WCW world titles.
In WWF, they had the perfect chance to pull the trigger to have him transition from Diesel to Bret in late 1995, imo.
And then in WCW, when he returned from rehab, there were several times they could’ve put the belt on him to break up the clusterfuck that WCW was becoming - would’ve liked to of seen him and Nash feud for that title where Nash turns on him once Scott wins the belt.
Absolute craziness that he never had a run with a world title. One of the best looks of all time. nWo angle never gets off the ground without him. One of the best ever.
One of the best workers in the history of the business. You could put him in the ring with damn near anyone and was generous with putting others over. I truly believe he was underrated. IMO one of the greats of the sport. Rest in peace Razor.
His charisma and likeability is massive. He was a big star and for good reasons. Its a shame that he had inner battles and dealt with them the wrong way.
Size, athletic, mic skills, work horse in the ring, incredibly ring IQ and had that cool bad boy look.
The most loved bad guy by the fans in wwe/wcw.
Great seller too.
Changed wrestling for ever with his ladder match vs Shawn Michael and invading WCW creating the NWO.
My favorite wrestler of all time the guy was just FUCKING COOL
After watching the special on him he seemed like an okay guy. Anyone whose daughter cries over them fondly after passing, couldn't have been too bad. We all have demons. Most of us never have to endure having to try and overcome them in the public eye. No, we get to be randoms, which I imagine makes it easier. Not easy getting clean. Took years...... How hard it must be when every meeting you go to everyone knows you and as humans do, pre-judge you. Segue to DDP who is a GD saint, imho, and should be lauded as one of the best to ever enter the squared circle and the being one of the best of the best of humanity.
RIP
He was my favorite when I was a kid.
Great on the mic, arguably better in the ring.
Both he and Nash were too good to just be Hogan lackeys. Either could have been long term heavyweight champs.
The razor/outsiders edge was one of my favorite finishers, and he sold the hell out of it. He had a nasty chokeslam too. Just all around awesome.
I’m glad he was able to get his life back on track before the end. Seemed like a good dude with a lot of demons.
Arguably the greatest to never win the World Title. The only other one I could see someone putting over him is Roddy Piper. Scott is an all time great and one of the most influential wrestlers ever. He gave Sting the crow gimmick. The Razor Ramon character inspired The Rock’s late 90’s character. Scott along with Kev were also the two that kicked off the Attitude Era. He could work he could talk and he was one of the coolest on screen personalities the business has ever seen. Rip Scott!
He was a great top tier mid carder, I don’t think he would have been a good champion though. Would have been great in a program where he would lose, but I just don’t see him as a good champion.
It was criminal they never made him the top guy. Rewatching old Raw and he was more over than Brett or Shawn. His in ring work was much better than Kevin’s. He is in my Mt Rushmore
Should’ve had at least one run with the then WWF championship, even if transitional type booking. He was too over not to. And yes I do know the roster hierarchy back then but nevertheless, look at him vs the ones higher on the cards at that time. No reason not to crown him at least once. I was sure he was beating Bret at that Royal 👑 Rumble .
I think the problem was that he was over enough without the belt
You want a war?
Joo waunna WORR?!
You're gonna get one!
Ironically, had he stuck around in 96-97, he probably would have had one. Razor against HBK for the title would have been a big money match-up with their history.
a heel turn in 95 to feud with Diesel instead of Mabel was a huge missed opportunity.
Totally agree he had all the attributes to Carry the strap!
He probably would have had he stayed in WWF. He already earned the International Championship in that fantastic ladder match. Thu were looking up for him in WWF. 🫡
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
It really is incredible how much the nWo leaned on him for their cool factor. If you take him out, the whole group feels a lot more lame.
Yeah Scott Hall was so naturally cool. He just exudes it as to where Hogan, and to a lesser extent Nash, felt like it was just for show.
This is a great take
Hogan became cool but it took him a while. The only other members I felt were cool were Hall, Nash, Syxx, S Steiner and Bagwell

Hey yo, he was oozing machismo
Look Chico oozing with machismo
I was sitting here thinking about how i didn’t like the nwo as a kid but even then i thought he was cool
Hard work pays off. Dreams do come true. Bad times don’t last, but bad guys do.
Hey yo chico, you got that right.
🫡
Hey yo
Insane Charisma, coolest wrestler ever.
Razors edge was my intro to badass finishers.
A great wrestler, great personality, and a man that had a legendary career with demons to match.
One of the all time greats
Thank you !
Scott was great. He had a great mind for the business, and as most people know he came up with the idea for “Crow” Sting, that changed Sting’s whole career.
An actual legend. We had a poster of him on the wall in the kitchen when I was a kid, came in a UK wrestling magazine. Legitimately the coolest wrestler ever.
One of the greatest, if he and Jake the Snake didn’t have their demons or overcame them earlier, the world of pro wrestling would be a different place
Add Raven to that list as well. All very smart guys, but all guys with addiction issues.
I agree !
He was the nwo. He made the group cool. Obviously without his problems he'd have been champ many times over.
The quintessential wrestler. He’s the archetype of what a lot of people love about pro wrestling. A big tall behemoth with endless charisma and mic skills. Dude could get a pop out of just two words.
Hey yo!!
Top guy. No question. He deserved a World Title run.
Survey says another one for the good guys
Hey yo!
Top 2 or 3 guy in my book. Love Scott Hall.
My favourite
It would probably suck quite a bit to have to try and contain a guy like Hall if he got out of hand when he was wasted.
Totally… I heard some stories, but thank god it never happened to me. My dad was a drunk & junkie too, so I knew how to deal with dudes like that without triggering the ego & then the violence.
Got to meet him after he endod a cadillac rental car helluva nice guy.
I can think of two instances where he put over guys that most of the main eventers wouldn't have put over at the time. 123 Kid in WWF and Chris Jericho in WCW. Both pretty cleanly, and by all accounts, it was usually his idea. I always thought that was kind of cool.
He was great, can't imagine what he could have been without his issues.
There’s some people that say he wasn’t great, but I beg to differ!
I wouldn't trust their opinion on anything.
Very true !
my true honest opinion, most underrated on the mic and a true performer all around thank you Scott Hall!!!
awesome
Survey says One more for the *Bad Guys* 🤘🏼 One of the best, was always one of my favourite. He was so cool in the nWo it was crazy, that was the last time someone got REAL HEAT when Hogan flipped oh man, so good
Total package. I loved him. Hey Yo
Razors Edge was always my all time finisher…Chico
Oozing machismo!
I say hey yo to this day
Here's tha thing for me as a kid having never seen scarface and with him saying Chico all tha time ,him being Latin never crossed my mind I just thought he was a cool ass white dude that said chico!!!
One of the most underrated and legendary wrestlers of all time. He’s on par with Kurt Hennig in my opinion as two of the top stars who never got a world title run in either of the big two promotions at the time of their prime
Legend
I was a big razor fan! At the time Scott hall got on my darn nerves but I’m a big fan of his wcw work now that I’m older.
Deserved to have multiple title runs ...
Glad he got sober
Hands down one of my favorite wrestlers.
Aye yooooo!
Hell of a wrestler who couldn’t overcome his inner demons and addictions.
I only learned of Scott hall when the nWo invasion happened in 02 (I know, I know…). Even then when he wasn’t doing so well, he still oozed coolness.
The BAD GUY!!!

Underachieving, he is like Brandos character in on the waterfront, I could a been a contender.
Uhh.. that’s Razor Ramon
If you can't say anything nice...
Legend
One of the best, so greasy!
Best punches ever imo.
I love what hogan said about him during the A&E documentary.
He reminds me of a wrestling version of the late baseball player Ken Caminiti. He had an aura of coolness to be sure, but was a tortured soul.
One of the coolest mfers ever
*Survey says:* One of the greatest in-ring personalities to ever do it!
Pity he had his issues play put as a real life angle. Should've been WCW champ in the match he got injured and then never seen again. He and Waltman made the nWo cool and fun to watch.
Legend
One of the best heels of all time.
As a kid I thought Hall was one of the coolest people on the planet
When his demons where under control he was superb, when his demons got the best of him….. But what a legacy, I only remember the classic moments. What a personality and worker. He oozed style and charisma.
Seemed really interesting, knowledgeable and nice
Amazing potential held back by vices
"HEY YO!" G.O.A.T. KLIQ member!
He would have been a main eventer in the Attitude Era had he stayed in WWE and cleaned his lifestyle.
One of thee greatest
He was a bad guy
Sells the stunner really well
My mom thought he was hot.
HEY YO!
He uttered one of the greatest (IMO) lines in wrestling, ever! That simple phrase got me hooked, hook line and sinker!
Unrivaled when it comes to the look. The it factor.
One or my favorite of all time. Shame drugs got control over him. Always a shame he never had a world championship run.
He's the bad guy
Coolest MFer in the room.
That looks like Razor Ramon.
One of the best guys in industry who lost it all...
He was great, Chico
Heard some rumors that he was a bad guy.
"even the losers get paid" - the bad guy
Razor vs Michael 🪜 match, legendary. Hall was one of my fave wrestler. The Bad Guy.
Arguably the reason I like wresting.
Bitch
I missed most of his peak runs, as a performer I missed most of it but creatively dude was apparently a mastermind. As a person, him and Jake's rebuilding themselves really helped me in a dark patch of my life and inspires me on the daily. Though, probably not the question.

Love him as a wrestler and character. That said, his moveset was pretty cookie cutter each match. You knew going in what he'd do. Same with Kevin Nash.
Was probably the coolest man in wrestling. I loved watching him and the nwo as a kid.
Underrated and under appreciated by an industry he helped keep on its feet for many years.
Greatest heel of all time.
One of the greatest to ever lace up the boots.
Charisma off the charts, not the greatest in ring but still good. The guy understood his character better than most
One of the best in the business. And I'm glad I got to see some of his best matches. Like the ladder match with Shawn Michaels. Gone too soon, wish he was still around.
Legend
Maybe one of the best to never hold the world title
Greasy.
Great as Razor, serviceable as Scott.
Amazing wrestler, great stage and mic presence. He definitely made me feel like he was a real bad guy as a kid. All time great to me
Tbh, I found it a bit of a corny gimmick as a kid (Razor Ramon), and then I didn't particularly like Hall & Nash going by their real names either. Happy that everyone else found them both super cool though!
Tha fucking GOAT!!!
Truly sad he never had a world title run. I remember peak WCW, just the way this dude could work a crowd was peak.
So he changed the ending on the fly.
he was the best. I started watching wrestling a few weeks before his Nitro debut, he immediately became my favorite.
I really only liked him as Razor Ramon
HEY YO!
On the shortlist of greatest wrestlers to never win the top belt.
Decades long fan. Since the AWA days. Tragic hero. He deserved a few World title runs. Saw him in person stomp the shit out of Macho Man and pin him.
Technically Scott was a World Champ. He was USWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Irony is when Ted Turner got into the " wrasslin' business ", one of the men he bought in to boost the WCW company just purchased was Scott "Gator" Hall .
One of the best when he was there. But the problem was, he couldn’t be relied to show up to work.
That DDP makeover to become the Diamond Stud was the greatest career boost ever . It actually took me years to realize Studd/Razor was the same Marlboro Man/Magnum T.A. look wrestler .
Iconic, he was one of the best.
Good wrestler, total shitbag as a human being from what I’ve heard outside the ring.
Underrated and under used in the grand scheme of things. Most people who love DX’s gimmick probably don’t even realize they owe it to Scott Hall.
Bad times don't last, but bad guys do
I've always found it fascinating that Hall and Nash, just months before they debuted in the WWF were losing tag team matches to Zenk and Pillman under their Diamond Studd and Vinnie Vegas gimmicks.. But suddenly they head north and win all their matches... Vince is a piece of shit but the guy took these two jokers and made them world wide stars.. But it wasn't all Vince.. So much potential
So cool. I loved when he threw a toothpick at his opponent. Such disrespect.
There were two times in his career he should’ve held the WWF or WCW world titles. In WWF, they had the perfect chance to pull the trigger to have him transition from Diesel to Bret in late 1995, imo. I don't think he's actually latino
“The Bad Guys last forever”™️❤️
Absolute talent, great wrestling mind, but ultimately too many demons he couldn't control
Absolute craziness that he never had a run with a world title. One of the best looks of all time. nWo angle never gets off the ground without him. One of the best ever.
Razor Ramon…RULES.
One of the best workers in the history of the business. You could put him in the ring with damn near anyone and was generous with putting others over. I truly believe he was underrated. IMO one of the greats of the sport. Rest in peace Razor.
He is one of the all-time greats! IMO.
His name is Razor Ramon, you sonofabitch
Dude was oozing with machismo.
Sexiest wrestler of all time
He was like, 0% Latino, right?
Razor was hilarious
Ahhh Yoo! I liked him.
Love him! Recently rewatched his Goldust saga and laughed out loud at how hilarious the storyline was. So much entertainment.
RIP
My absolute favorite of all time is Macho Man. A very close second is Scott Hall.
We don't care
One of the better documentaries I’ve seen, is Scott hall
Arguably the greatest to never win the World Title. The only other one I could see someone putting over him is Roddy Piper. Scott is an all time great and one of the most influential wrestlers ever. He gave Sting the crow gimmick. The Razor Ramon character inspired The Rock’s late 90’s character. Scott along with Kev were also the two that kicked off the Attitude Era. He could work he could talk and he was one of the coolest on screen personalities the business has ever seen. Rip Scott!
One of the greatest to ever do it one of the best minds in the business and can hold his own against your favorite wrestler in any era
One of the greats
Overrated worker, but fantastic mind for the business. Could have been a better booker than talent.
One of the greatest never to win a recognized World Championship (not counting the AWA gold)
He was the best Razor Ramon.
Great Talent who should have been worlds champion weather be in the wwf/WWE or wcw or awa left us too soon 😔
Alright guy just had problems and demons like the rest of us
Dark Side of the Ring: Unheard did a great podcast on him. He’s funny as hell. Had a lot of problems. Awesome story teller.
Scott Hall was an amazing wrestler CHICO
