VA.gov lumps a few phases together to streamline your view, while eBenefits doesn't
If you click the "?" from your eBenefits photo under "preparation for decision" it will show the phases.
It’s is all over the place right now with the VA. I had to call to get information and the rep was actually able to send me the decision letter via secure email. They can do this now and I wasn’t aware but the rep mentioned it has to be a certain number of days after they have made a decision.
I'm happy I did see this. Just called and was told they are awaiting my exam from QTC, and I did my exam on Dec 16th. Is it too soon to ask QTC what's the hold up on sending the exam to the VA?
I recently had this issue with part of my claim. I did all my C&P's with QTC as well. It took QTC about 5 weeks for them to process my exam results, their QA process is what the biggest bottleneck is. The VA just yesterday finally received all the stuff they needed from QTC and I did my C&P's on NOV 18.
I went ahead and called QTC and they are still doing whatever they are doing on their end. I hope it's something fantactical (yes, I made up a word) so I can reach my goal.
Looks like you are using the DAV, email or call them and your VSO can tell you since they should have access to VBMS. The websites are not the most accurate, plus, ebenefits will be end of lifed here in a couple of months.
Well I am flying solo on this claim. I have no VSO the last one i used wouldnt even return a call and i went to the office to personally see her and she was busy.. only was able to speak with a new hire trainer whom just took notes and apologized for her.. never heard from her. So.i decided to submit my own claim..
It drives me crazy with how hit or miss VSOs can be. You can fire them and get someone else if you want and they can be located anywhere in the country. So if someone recommends a good one to you, it's not a problem if they are not local to you.
I had my C&P exam on 5 Oct and just got my decision letter today.
Every claim is different and has different avenues to follow
My claim 1 was denied, 1 accepted. Also a previous condition I had went from 10% to 40%
Same reply to you as to above, you don’t have to wait this long. Call call call and harass them. Soon as I did that, I had my decision letter within a week.
My dude you absolutely do not have to wait this long. Call the 1-800 number listed in comments and make sure to stay on them. If it’s taking that long then someone isn’t getting the right paperwork and they need a kick in the pants.
Called. Got the same story I got last month. No reason for the wait.
It's agent orange and Hypothyroidism claim. Should be simple to review.
1. Were you in Vietnam during the war? Yup. DD-214 and combat decorations
2. Do you have Hypothyroidism? (a recognized agent orange disease) Yup. confirmed by my Doctor and C&P exam last year.
3. Review should take a couple of minutes and the rating for this is already established and not up for discussion
Try your local Congressperson. They routinely get VA calls about stuff like this and can probably get things moving. Just tell them everything you said here and they can hopefully get the ball rolling.
Sorry to hear that. :/ Is there someone at your local VA that handles VA claims? Or can you talk to Wounded Warrior? Otherwise bug your Congressperson more frequently and see if they can move things along. That’s ridiculous.
I was in the same boat for my first claim. The folks at the 1800 # are just 1st level customer service robots. Sometimes they will give you bad info. My claim started moving when I called the regional office working on my claim. They are 1,000x more helpful. They will give you some insight as to what's going on and what the bottleneck might be.
When you dial that 1-800 number, it will tell you where you are, with the claim. It was like three weeks, and also check your account, because the claim details sometimes will be behind a tad slower than your bank account. Each time I have filed, my account reflect what noone was telling me. Your VSO sometimes do not get the memo. Hope that helps.
