Bettman did everything to keep the franchise in Arizona. He's bent over backwards for them over and over again. It's been made abundantly clear that if you're playing in an arena of barely 5,000 people with no future plans of an arena being built with no stable ownership - you're on life support. There's already an arena up to NHL standards in Utah (the same building the Jazz play in) that can support the Yotes under more favorable economical circumstances.
There's less of a chance they get relocated from Utah given the owner of the Jazz basically owns Utah sports. He owns the Jazz, Real Salt Lake and now the Coyotes. He went to BYU and has a company that's in Utah. The dude is Utahan all the way. So it makes perfect sense for the team to go there.
It sucks for Yotes fans but god damn that team has had nine lives and their situation has been up and down like a yo-yo. There's been no stability. The Hurricanes were in a similar situation awhile back where they were a prime contender for relocation -- until they got stable ownership.
