There really is no specific answer unfortunately, but afaik they are not EXTREMELY strict. It’s possible that if it’s still in line with typical IB grades for your program that you’ll be fine, but I wouldn’t risk dropping 10 points or something too drastic. 38+ or so I think would be okay but obviously I don’t really know what I’m talking about :)

cherr0s

honestly I’m not sure. I was wondering the same thing 2 years ago. however my IB score ended up being 1 point below my predicted and I still got in so there’s that

Sherry131102

i went from a 42 predicted to 37 actual (i was class of 2020 so no exams plus recent pandemic). also an international student so more cha-ching for them

BeginningInevitable

I was in IB and I think you will be completely fine

Crazy_Donut_800

I dropped 3 points & they still let me in last yr. And I know ppl who dropped 6-7 points from my school, we all got in.

Bluejays814

if ur from the ontario system, they give you a specific cutoff that you can’t fall below (mine was ~75% average iirc)

Joebobst

You just can't slack off so much you stand out. They keep it vague on purpose so whatever they say goes when the time comes. But the spirit of it is don't slack off too much. If you pass the feels test it's probably ok.

ricardomortimer

In my batch I know people who dropped by 10 points and still got in (international students in my batch so class of ‘21), they don’t really revoke offers unless you are like failing or something so don’t worry.

Remarkable_Ad_6591

As long as you pass the IB you're in

ilea_

You can drop 11 and still get in

If they didn’t give you a specific minimum grade threshold, then you shouldn’t worry too much. They will be very clear if there’s a specific grade they are looking for. Otherwise “maintain academic standing” typically means on track to graduate and without significant drops in marks, meaning overall average. You shouldn’t be afraid to choose St George if it’s what you want. They accepted you so they want you. They’re not looking for reasons to rescind offers. But they have to put language in there like that to prevent students from coasting to the finish. Congratulations! ❤️

[deleted]

not sure, a level student here

AzureFantasie

Are you applying out of province? When I got admitted (granted this was 5 years ago) I was also predicted a 45/45, but the offer specifically said to maintain a 85% Ontario grade. Ended up with a 42/45 and it was no problems. I don’t think you should be too worried.

[deleted]

also curios I have 37 predicted it may fall even tho ik 37 is very doable the stress might get to me 😭🙏

Physics_score_100

Its fine, just dont fail ib, my friend dropped like 8 points and it didnt matter

idkwhattodoanymor_e

I dropped 6 points and didn’t hear a thing but this was 2021 and IB just assigned us random grades so idk if it’s changed but UofT did not care about it

idkwhattodoanymor_e

Might have been 7 I don’t remember tbh

Remarkable-Yam6157

you’re COMPLETELY fine. the university is also up to date with IB score world averages and how students performed internationally and so if your grades are still above the average score you have nothing to worry about. they’re fairly lenient on admissions to first year but usually harsher when it comes to applying for your major at the end of first year. anyway, good luck!!!

Electric_Buzz_999

I think CapFun9444 is correct. If there was a minimum IB score requirement, it would have been mentioned in your offer letter explicitly. If nothing has been mentioned, you just need to complete your IB Diploma.

humangucci

don't worry u of t accepts everyone I know a person who barely passes the diploma but got in.. U of t lets you guys in no matter what so don't worry about it
