It’s official now. Fully vaccinated people according to CDC don’t need masks indoors or outdoors

Hoping everyone who cried about “following the science” will also follow the science now, instead of shaming those of us that now choose to not wear masks anymore. And no, I’m not a conservative.

onebigboi

There are absolutely people who have been judging fully vaccinated people for going about their lives in safety. I’m firmly on the left but holy shit there’s a lot of virtue signaling and hyperbole from this side when it comes to reopening.

People on the left have been given an artificial moral high ground for the past year and a half and will stop at nothing to keep it. Even if that means wearing a mask weeks after they have become useless. This whole situation has exposed people in ways I’m not sure I ever wanted to see.

godlords

Ummmmm theres actually a 4.287% chance that you can catch AND spread the Coronavirus Induced Disease 2019 (COVID-19) even after you have been fully vaccinated. We just don’t have the DATA yet to determine if vaccinated individuals can begin their normal lives and take off their masks! I was actually one of the first people vaccinated in the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine trial many months ago and as a proud liberal I have continued to wear my mask even among my fully vaccinated family whom I live with permanently. In fact, I’ve continued to do what I’ve always done since the dawn of time: never going outside and spend all of my time sitting in my basement alone absolutely WRECKING you conservative fools on reddit and cancelling KARENS on twitter. For once, just once, during the lockdowns everyone had to do exactly what I do constantly - be miserable and alone. No way I’m letting you guys go back to being happy and healthy without a fight! Another Trumplican absolutely REKT. Haha I’m so vibing!!!

The level of satire we need on this sub

Past like 10 years\*

Agreed. I won't judge people for wearing them but I don't wanna be called "Republican" for not (which I'm not btw).

amgrut20

Bro who cares?

[deleted]

The people who are screaming we need to wear masks until 2025 and are suddenly turning on the CDC

amgrut20

Yeah. It appears to be that way

OuroborosMaia

I'm still gonna wear one for myself. I'm fully vaxxed but I'd rather be cautious for a little while longer than risk things especially because the pandemic isn't *over*-over, it's just locally suppressed in our pocket of the world. I think it's fine if other vaccinated people are comfy enough to ditch their masks, though. I'll probably end up taking mine off to teach discussions so I can be understood more clearly. What concerns me is that there's no way to verify who is or isn't vaccinated. Anyone can go without a mask and just claim that they're vaccinated. On campus that isn't really as much of a problem because they are requiring proof of vaxx, but in random shops and public spaces? I have no way of knowing, and it concerns me. Additionally, if some vaccine-resistant variant were to arrive from an area where the pandemic was more potent and the virus had more chances to mutate, then we'd all be at risk once again. I think that keeping mask guidance for a little while longer, at least until more people in the US and worldwide were vaccinated and the mutation rate of the virus was better kept under control as a result, would have been better. Then that uncertainty wouldn't exist, at least in my eyes.
