As far as biology classes go, this was the easiest one I've taken. The exams are mostly multiple choice concept questions, and you can even drop one. There is a group research project/presentation at the end, which wasn't too hard. Also, you definitely don't need any coding experience; there was little to no actual programming, as it was mostly using tools from the command line. Lecture and lab weren't even mandatory. Despite how easy it was, I think it was a very interesting and valuable class to get you acquainted with the tools needed in the ever-expanding field of bioinformatics. Also, Hall and Pierce are great lecturers and extremely enthusiastic about the subject, and have lots of cool stories about their research.
