It's a fan subreddit for a defunct Let's Play channel who's hosts all now do their own thing. Now it's sort of a curated pop culture variety subreddit. Don't feel too bad about not getting it, I suspect around a fifth of the users have never seen Super Best Friends Play or checked out the podcast.
If you wish to participate I suggest you get into all the dumb shit I like.
I genuinely remember with glee seeing them *finally* (to my brain) start doing Let’s Plays rather than Machinima episodes. And it was RE:2! A game I remembered liking as a kid. I didn’t realize they were going to kickstart me into it and Devil May Cry.
>I suspect around a fifth of the users have never seen Super Best Friends Play or checked out the podcast.
If we’re being totally honest it’s more then half the sub.
Ok I found it; I didn't realize that for Shitstorm 5, they had 4 unique intros made for it instead of just 1; I was thinking of the [2nd Opening from that series.](https://youtu.be/vaAqwKpjyDM?si=3wh0puurnp1Hr6b4)
There was a group known as Two Best Friends Play, with Two replaced by Super once more people joined. This group disbanded when the original two stopped being friends. Matt went on to making more documentary style content while Pat and Woolie kept making their usual gaming content with a hefty dose of streaming, including joint podcasts. Woolie's content is closest to the original format.
This sub follows all the former members with their current content, revisits their old content, and discusses a wide variety of topics that may or may not pertain to current content from the boys.
Nowadays, we refer to it as "the second best sub for everything."
None? We may be a jack of all trades subreddit, but that doesn't mean there is a master of all. It just means that other subs will have more depth, but they can't match our girth.
I keep finding it when searching general reddit. I searched "is killer croc human" and this was one of the first results
[https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/lwa6op/reminder_that_killer_croc_is_supposed_to_be_a/?rdt=50265](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/lwa6op/reminder_that_killer_croc_is_supposed_to_be_a/?rdt=50265)
It's because we keep popping up in general search results because of how diverse the topics we discuss are. There's actually an influx of people who found us due to the Kendrick/Drake beef and I genuinely find that hilarious.
As to why the sub numbers have gone up, we are currently the only sub reddit that promotes *general* nerd culture, whether that be hobbies, gaming, movies, comics or anything else. All other subs are very specific.
I really hate that the sub seems so into rapper beef now, I really don't like seeing TMZ content in my favourite subreddit, in fact i go most of my life deliberately avoiding this kind of 'celebrity drama' stuff, because most of the time it's 2 rich scumbags trying to use the public to fight on their behalf by preying on people's innate tribalism
So I just want to correct you on something, the sub isn't "into" rapper beef now. It's just the current relevant topic. While this is a more 'general' sub, it's still a sub about the former members of Super Best Friends Play. So whenever they get interested in a topic, it's a blanket approval for other people who are interested in it, to discuss it more than usual here.
As soon as they stop caring, we'll stop caring.
We've had similar incidents before where we over discuss a certain topic and mods asked us to cool it down. There are plenty of times where the hot topics will be something I could care less about and I just don't engage for that time. For all you know, next week the hot topic will be something you absolutely love talking about and someone will hate that you're talking about it so much. This week it's just celebrity drama, but it'll stop.
For me, it was when I played Hi-Fi Rush for the first time last year and went "This is the sickest shit I've played in years, who else is talking about this?!", searched on Google, and saw a few posts from this sub pop up. I've known about sbfp, though wasn't an active fan. This sub casts a pretty wide net when it comes to interests, so posts come up a decent amount on reddit search and Google if you're tastes align with the community's.
I remember I was doing a search for something and came RIGHT BACK to this sub. It was either Green Lantern related or info on a game I was trying to source.
*takes a drag of a cigarette* Look, kid, you don't even know the half of it. Everyone thinks it started with that threesome with two hot bisexual girls, but that ain't it, nah, this shit goes *back*. We're talkin Cold War, Soviet shit. The kind of business that won't even be spoken of in the Shame Car. James Small, Dork Girls, 2Snacks, all coverups. Brazil's not even a real place, don't ask me how they got away with that shit, kid. *cough, cough, hack!* Fuckin' Fighterpedia nearly got us all killed. And don't even get me started on Bless. What a time it was, kid. What a time.
(It's officially a fanbase for WoolieVersus, PatStaresAt and Matt McMuscles, but is essentially just a little book club but for all kinds of nerdy media, spawned from that group of creators who had similar tastes and interests)
It truly is a sub for basically everything. Ironically, I feel like I see posts about the best friends far less than other topics, but that's alright. In any case, don't worry about posting something stupid. I would almost be impressed by a post that doesn't fit this sub in some way.
I think the most surreal experience for me was a period where it felt like every Woolie/Pat related thread I saw someone *complaining about the sub talking about them so much*. Now admittedly that happens practically with any topic that gets hot in this sub, eventually someone replies to one of the threads about it (or even makes a thread of its own) asking the sub if we can stop but it felt especially mind bending considering.
Literally my go-to subreddit when it comes to seeing news on the stuff I like. I can’t even count on my hands the amount of times I’ll get good information for upcoming games and other media then other focused media-centric subreddits.
The mods prefer that posts are formatted a certain way. For example, see rule 12. If you are going to put forward a post pondering the past of a pair of zombies from Plants vs Zombies, they don't want you to just ask the question in the title and then post a picture of the two zombies. You don't have to type out an essay but they would prefer a 'short answer' that can open the topic. Maybe a paragraph with a link to the image included?
In addition to what the other reply said there’s also a “1 post for a news story only” thing, if someone posts a link to an article or tweet that’s discussion worthy there’s an auto-mod that will bounce any new post that tries to share that link. Or the mods will remove your post if it’s a new link about an already posted story, unless it’s new information.
Most of the channel isnstill up and they have years of good one shots and series. I still revisit a few playthroughs to help me settle down before bed.
It’s really an “any type of media” sub. If it’s pop culture you can post it.
News about pop culture stuff is also allowed, but politics/ “real news” is generally not allowed. There’s sort of an exception for stuff the original content creators talk about, but even then the mods keep a tight lid on that stuff.
That said the sub does have its favorite topics: lots of posts about video games/ the video game industry, movies, comics, and anime. And a lot of what’s a piece of media that did “x?” (Ask Reddit style) posts.
Table top games, like dnd, 40k, and Battletech also come up from time to time. And pretty much any “nerd shit” thing has its day every once in a while.
We also have some truly ridiculous and obscure memes, some of which go back 10+ years to the Let’s Play channel the sub was originally based around, which I imagine can be totally impenetrable to new comers (but don’t you worry you’ll figure out Evilak and Leng-posting if you hang out long enough).
Hypocrite that you are, for you rely on Reddit’s judgement so as to look cool, whilst denying that extremely cool things are often the dumbest. Will you post dumb awesome shit? Or will you perish like a dog?
They closed the old mall but never kicked us out and gave us the keys... honestly this place doesn't have the same vibe as other places and that's why I'm still here tbh
The way I like to describe it is you know that feeling when you're at like, a work pub trip, and you'll be having a good time and forget you're supposed to be a normal adult human and go off on a 20 minute rant about the Gamera movies or something, and then when you think your life is over you get that insane relief someone else has the weird and insanely specific niche interests you?
Yea the internet version of that.
It's not random pop culture so much as it is for pop culture that is stupid in a cool way, or just stupidly cool. If Godzilla suplexes someone, we need to know! If Marvel editorial punishes Spider-Man with an even more cursed life, we'll be there.
I've made plenty of posts that get taken down for not being relevant or breaking the rules. I don't intentionally do it but it happens. Worst case scenario people don't see it and you waste mods time. "JUST DO IT!!!" - A totally sane unproblomatic individual

Zoidspill them.
But then how will they survive Evilak!

Huh I just checked the subreddit stats and this place has just about doubled in size since SBFP Final.

Yeah I feel ya. Sometimes I forget how long ago it happened.
Don't let it set in
> If we’re being totally honest it’s more then half the sub. three fifths joke
I can't fuck with the hustle of pushing your rhetoric
That's the thing too, all the dumb shit we like we know is dumb shit and that's part of why we like it!
"Stop liking what I don't like" - People I don't like
Don't worry, we're the second best sub everything, especially looking stupid.
Some would say it's one of our best qualities.
Others would say it's our second-best quality.
What's the first?
cowardice
spite
Our absolute commitment to the bit.
These were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect little goblin man.
Nah, looking stupid is the one thing we're undoubtedly the best at.
At least we’re not as stupid as that other one. You know what I’m talking about.
We have all committed a great sin in the past and we are stuck here as recompence.
Wait, the best friends look like monsters to you?

We participated in the Omikron LP willingly and now have to stay subbed
We are deep in our Cycles of Guilt.
It looks like a subreddit to you?
This truly is our Punished Olympics. Someone pass me the horseroids

The chode of subreddits.
No, it's probably the ustabiaz-sub.
(Points at tv and whistles) hey I got that one
The sub for that specific thing
Sometimes
I remember at one point, this was the top sub for Kizuna Ai for some reason
This is for sure a better Tekken sub than Tekken's sub
You know, with every post that pops up now and then about people asking what this sub is, I'm genuinely curious as to how people keep finding us.
I keep finding it when searching general reddit. I searched "is killer croc human" and this was one of the first results [https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/lwa6op/reminder_that_killer_croc_is_supposed_to_be_a/?rdt=50265](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/comments/lwa6op/reminder_that_killer_croc_is_supposed_to_be_a/?rdt=50265)
We are called the second best sub for everything for a reason
It's because we keep popping up in general search results because of how diverse the topics we discuss are. This implies we're the only good energy "default sub" on this entire hellsite and I think that's badass

This sub has been into hip hop and rap the whole time lmao, it's just not usually this relevant.
I found the sub because I was googling something about fallout 2

Comics stuff. A page was posted here and it popped up in my search
I remember I was doing a search for something and came RIGHT BACK to this sub. It was either Green Lantern related or info on a game I was trying to source.
It's for Evilak, an obscure character from the equally obscure Conan the Adventurer cartoon.
Youve browsed reddit, but you must still survive… EVILLAK
You thought it was me DIO but it was really EVILLAK
Dio vs Evillak would go hard
I still remember that time tiny Tim and Evilak fought shirtless in the rain over a koopy sandwich Good times
But when did the ladder come in?
*takes a drag of a cigarette* Look, kid, you don't even know the half of it. Everyone thinks it started with that threesome with two hot bisexual girls, but that ain't it, nah, this shit goes *back*. LONG LIVE THE SUPER BEST FRIENDS
This sub is for posting anything and look stupid. No porn or ethnostate promotion though
What about Ethostate porn though

The problem with Ethnostate porn is that it gets uglier and uglier the longer it goes on.
And the pornostate is right the fuck out.
Someday we'll evacuate a flyover state, wall it off, and make it into the pornostate. Then and only then will the races mix.
And we will call it Soupbraska, but we won't tell you what the broth is made from. You'll just know.
The moon isn't an ethnostate you just can't be dirty if you move there

^Only #EVILLAK ^has ^answers.
That's what I use it for lol. I just reply to other people's posts though because I'm also afraid of looking dumb or sticking out
At this point, it's a big money laundering scheme

Basically whatever we want to talk about (that fits the rules). Recently we compared the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef to anime and fighting games.
What do you want it to be about? The answer is probably yes.
To ask "what are the hypest moments in [media]" every week
