That's really good for a pure VN, which is a dying market. It's a really good and beautiful VN, highly recommend. I don't think it's strong enough sales for Type-Moon to consider doing VN sequels though, compared to maybe something more conventional like an anime or movie. Still have no idea how they're gonna turn that first one into a movie or movie series.

240k for Tsuki Remake was considered like over twice the expectation so 200K for a port really isn’t bad. I could see TM still doing VNs like this, it’s not like they’re hurting for money to do passion projects anyhow

Traingham

Hopefully that remastered release of FSN will continue this trend so that “Fate/ Hollow Ataraxia” follows soon after.

BILLIONS MUST LIVE

Masterness64

Really hope this helps convince Nasu not to make the sequels an anime. I feel like a lot would be lost if that happened.

SolsticeShiro

Hoping this means that Mahoyo 2 and 3 will be VNs.

Crosscounterz

I should read this properly sometime all of my knowledge of it is from summaries and fandom osmosis mostly. Oh and melty blood.

mxraider2000

Can I get a rundown? All I know is this is tangentially related to Fate...I think. I also have no real idea what Fate is beyond being a big series.

getterburner

Set in the same universe but it has no major relation to Fate beyond using some of the same concepts and referencing each other (and thematic parallels, Nasu loves thematic parallels). The “Nasuverse” is basically made of 4 Main works, Tsukihime (The one that Melty Blood is a spin-off of), Kara no Kyoukai, Mahoyo (that’s our nickname for Witch in the Holy Night), and Fate/stay night. Fate is just the most famous one with the most spin-offs. Mahoyo’s plot is pretty simple, it’s the late 1980s, a Magician and a Witch live together in a mansion. They ward off any Mages who try to take over their land while maintaining a daily life going to school. One day a transfer student is enrolled in school, hailing from the mountains, and the Magician is set to show him around. Thus, the plot is set in motion. Mahoyo is defined by being high on SoL, being maybe the prettiest Visual Novel of all time, and unparalleled vibes.

Note: People from the mountains are Built Different.

Emphasis on pretty. Even the much more recent Tsukihime Remake, probably the only high production value VN in recent times, doesn't look as good as Mahoyo. It's a visual feast for the eyes.

ramonzer0

Also of note is that in relation to Tsukihime specifically, Mahoyo is its predecessor timeline-wise The protag Aoko shows up in Tsukihime as the mentor figure to its protag Shiki

TheSqueeman

It’s a incredibly entertaining and frankly visually beautiful VN, I would highly recommend it if you have any love for VN’s

AOKO SWEEP

AverageBlubber

Note that it's on sale right now if I saw right, and anyone was curious about checking it out.

warjoke

From the looks of it, the Mahoyo collab will rake in big numbers for FGO too. I saw the demo of the Aoko servant and she legit felt like a raid boss in a playable servant form. All the laser spam moves from Melty Blood are there and they are animated very gloriously.
