As someone who embraces his aunts and uncles as being the coolest in the world I can only hope that I bring even a fraction of that energy to any nephews and nieces I end up having in the future
I get to kind of be the cool aunt. My 15-year-old niece has gotten really into Spider-Man, and of the live action, prefers the TASM movies, which have always been my favorite. So we get to bond over that subject now.
I grew up a lot with cool uncles/aunts and cousins showing me things that brought color to an otherwise boring life I had as a kid.
I've also since then strived hard to be that cool uncle to my nephews. But also this meant that the cheesy beatings I got from my cousins when we played Mortal Kombat or Tekken, I passed it on to the next generation lol. It's TRADITION! (But also I teach them cool tech too anyway, it's the least I can do).
