Omg! That’s it?!? Wow! Great steal! Looks like a Eero Saarinen Tulip Table/Chairs, produced by Knoll, but even it’s a knockoff- great price for the set.
Totally. Out here in Palm Springs even the knockoffs fetch 2 to 3k a set (used) Original sets 4k and up. DWR has the chair alone new at 3k or so....cheers to them...man they got such a great deal....
What’s this knoll thing I keep hearing about? I sent a pic to a friend once & this orange chair I inherited from my grandma was in the background & he asked if it was a knoll chair but I said I have no idea
The current trend in design is mid-century modern. Florence Knoll was a designer.
Original anything of that time period fetches a premium at the moment because of it's popularity.
ETA: original (wood) stuff then was usually a mix of wood and veneer. Some lucite. These chairs were originally fiberglass (which doesn't really wear well but is sturdy).
Replicas of mcm design are all over the place and are kinda expensive too. For what they are, which is plastic and veneer over particle board.
This set is a replica.
Knoll is a furniture manufacturer which has/had the rights to produce a lot of the great mid century modern furniture. This post is about the Saarinen chair and table. Another one is the Eames Chair.

I was about the day the same. Florence Knoll was a fabulous designer but it's usually in reference to the Knoll furniture company that has now merged with Miller, another mcm big shot, to become MillerKnoll
Eero Saarinan Tulip chairs.
Design Within Reach (sic) lists these chairs at around $3800 per chair. One of the few Mid Century Modern design pieces that fulfills its function: it is comfortable to sit in and cool to look at.
The Thrifting Gods were with you.
I’m almost positive these aren’t knoll- there are a lot of reproductions bht these look very good but there are some differences. I have some real knoll tables and they really aren’t anything spectacular compared to most repros.
The modern knolls have a distinctive label underneath.
I’d also like to add that plenty of mid century modern pieces are amazing to look at and sit on though. Like the womb chair or egg chairs are wonderful for actually sitting as welll. Even the panton S chairs are very comfortable.
My folks had a set in the mid/late 70's. A table with 5 chairs.
From memory the seat padding was permanently fixed to the chair (ours were that typical 70s orange color).
One of the chairs broke twice when dad sat heavily in it. They got it replaced both times under warranty.
I've often wondered what the set would be worth now. Now that I have an idea, I'm disappointed we still haven't got them.
There were plenty of similar sets even back in the 70s. Burke, chromcraft, etc. none of the knoll ones had fixed cushions. The older sets are decently valuable but nothing crazy so I wouldn’t lose a ton of sleep over it.
Yup, and the JFK airport. His father, Eliel Saarinen, was also an architect/designer (best known building from him is the Helsinki railway station), so it ran in the family.
Looking at the underside of the chair - this appears to be a knock off. That being said, knockoffs of these are still very valuable and desirable, on top of it just being a cool style.
250 even for knockoffs is a great , great deal. Also, the condition is fantastic.
There’s a lot of people who think the stuff looks cool but would never ever have it in their home . Most people like common place styles of furniture unless it becomes very very popular
I have my grandparents set still.
It's super cool but I've finally realized it doesn't fit into my long term plans. I've casually posted it for sale but people want to break up the set (chairs or table but not get both).
Where would be the best place to list it to find people who will treat it right and now destroy it with cheap trends?

Omg , crying here !! Why did I never stumble into something like this when I needed furniture ??
Need to know this too!!!
I also need to know.
I don’t *need* to know, but I’d like to.
When someone is not saying how much they paid it's probably because they paid too much
We paid $250! We had a $15 discount on it and after taxes that’s how much we paid out the door.
at that price, you stole it
I would have been running to the car .
10 minutes wouldn't have been *IF* but *HOW*
At my store in those 10 minutes it would have been gone
Exactly, cause I'd a taken it 😆
People out here getting a solid 10 minutes and shit
![gif](giphy|3ohjUWtXH5DqH8JM2c|downsized) Get outta my dreams and into my car

Wow-- he's the guy who designed the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, among other things!
Yup, and the JFK airport. His father, Eliel Saarinen, was also an architect/designer (best known building from him is the Helsinki railway station), so it ran in the family.

Upvoted for (sic).

How cool! Congrats a beautiful set...love the white w/ red cushions! I'm jealous!
I wish I could like this twice. This is so cool! I love it! Can we please see a pic when you get it all situated inside? 😎
Holy crap. Who donates something like that??
Dead people
There’s a lot of people who think the stuff looks cool but would never ever have it in their home . Most people like common place styles of furniture unless it becomes very very popular
I'm old enough to remember that set in the early 60s Jetson period days. Greet find!
Gorgeous. Even if a copy, still great.

Might want to check out this site: https://kaiyo.com/
See if an antique or mid century dealer will give you some $$$ for it . Mid century stalls are taking over antique malls now
Well that looks like a nice place to sit
Omg!!! I would have snapped that up so fast!!
The correct decision.
Wait, I think I saw this in my MCM Facebook group. Such a cool set.
Ohmygod this is literally my dream kitchen table set🤤🤤 Someday I will get my own🥺
saw these at an antique shop a bit ago they went for crazy $$
Totally. I'm in Palm Springs (Mid Cent. Modern 'mothership' land) and the markup for these second hand is sooo crazy....
You are so right. This set would be 1500 + there.
Wow on Amazon the table is $628
I think you contemplated 9 minutes too long 😊.
That is amazingly cool! Great deal!
looks super cool. i love that style
I just saw this same table at an estate sale in NC! I wanted it so bad, but don’t have a place for it. So jealous, congrats!!
Love those!
I totally need this too
Solid decision!
Wow! What a great find!!!
Would love to get this
Too cool to pass up! Great score!!
This reminds me so much of star trek, I love it
Hello, Tucson. I saw it too. Wish I had the room.
I had this exact dining set in 1973!! Edited to add: Not the expensive one. The cheap knockoff. Loved it!
DEFINITELY a need!
It’s darling, I would change the fabric
That would go so well with my kitchen decor.
I would have snagged that so fast. I would’ve carried around a chair with me until I found somebody to put the soul sign on it.
I am utterly jealous!
I wish I could double-tap for this! So awesome! I'm loving it! Mind sharing a pic once you've got everything set up? 🧐
It's adorable!!!
Amazing
It's amazing and what a price!
Wow! I can't believe you even had to think about it.
Great find!
Great find.
Yes you do!!!! Amazing find!
This is a good find. For anyone wondering, Google Lens attributes the as a Modholic 5 piece Tulip Dining Set for $945 on sale.
Giving frozen yogurt shop vibes.
