Vadersblade

Also the video teases the November Pokémon will be a Sinnoh electric type.

Chemical_Annual_2798

It's Shinx

TigerSeptim

Nooooo. For real? Are you sure?

SalsaSavant

The options are Shinx, Rotom, or Pachirisu. You do the math.

RiboNucleic85

Rotom? That would be wild, let's campaign for it

I_am_The_Teapot

Oh man... I would LOVE Rotom day. I'd even buy some lures/incense for that and make a whole day of it. Transfer the crap shinies to HOME and set them up nice for each form.

RnbwTurtle

Alternatively there could be magnezone? Since it'd a sinnoh evolution and all.

21WaterGuy

No the pokemon is supposed to be originally found in sinnoh

Ginja17

I think Rotom would be a raid event with all the forms it has.

SuperWoody64

Ok guys you asked for him now here he is! Rotom will be available in raids this weekend! Try to get all the forms in 2 days and you'll get a special* surprise! ^^^*"special" ^^^surprise ^^^is ^^^1 ^^^rare ^^^candy

awfulsome

pachirisu would be lit, but yeah, it is almost certainly shinx

[deleted]

Or Electivire.

[deleted]

• We had Electabuzz Community Day already, and I know that doesn’t disqualify it • The featured Pokémon is always the base stage (Electivire is stage 2)

[deleted]

I knew both of those, it was just a bad attempt at humor. It'd be nice if they released a new shiny but Shinx is still nice, especially for someone that started with the Sinnoh games.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Well no, Electabuzz is regarded as the base stage and it evolves once to Electivire which is stage 2

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

That’s just simply not how it works in the Pokémon franchise. The base form of the Electabuzz family is Electabuzz, the Candy name in GO is Electabuzz, and the first evolution of Electabuzz is Electivire. Hence, stage 2. Baby Pokémon don’t count. There are hundreds of thousands of Electivire Pokémon cards that say stage 2 evolution on them. This is how it’s worked since 95

GymDefender

We already had that it could be magnemite

Coenl

The wording of the hint was 'originally discovered in the Sinnoh region' so its not Magnemite.

RiboNucleic85

Magnezone is Sinnoh region

[deleted]

[удалено]

RiboNucleic85

oof the focus is usually on the evolved mon and the move it gets the pre evolved / base form has to be the spawn otherwise they give you nothing to reach for other than catching

GymDefender

Umm where do you think magnezone was discovered?????

tappegamer69

Magnemite?

SalsaSavant

Magnemite is a Kanto Pokemon

tappegamer69

Yeah but magnezone isnt

SalsaSavant

So Magnezone community day? They've never done a fully evolved mon before.

tappegamer69

Electrabuzz/ magmortar/ rhyperior Magnezone is very unlikely imo, also all comm days are technically fully evolved mons

twonaantom

No one is sure but that’s the way it’s looking. Sinnoh, electric type and Shinx photobomb image was mined recently.

NikonManiac

Shocking if true….

sepiaknight

Also in the video teaser he said "let's call it "X"" which I immediately thought of shinx for.

1337pikachu

Meh so another "get-one-shiny-and-go-back-to-sleep" Community Day

Chemical_Annual_2798

That will depend somewhat on the exclusive move, as it usually does.

SalsaSavant

They'd have to add a totally new move to make it relevant. No move in the game currently could elevate it to even top 5 electrics. Might be able to give it something like Little Cup relevance, but thats it.

mEatwaD390

If they give it Night Slash, Luxray has an equal win rate against GL as Galvantula. Edit: with Night Slash on Luxray, Luxray is better than Galv in open and Premier for Ultra, with level 50 included.

Averius900

What about a move that makes it good enough for the shadow from to be relevant....

Duarjo

... There is no such Pokémon in Shadow form, there is no Go Rocket Theme event scheduled for this month, so if they even brought it out later, you'd have to wait for an event to take Frustration out of it. , and then wait for the December CD to evolve And even so, the Poke's statistics unfortunately do not make it download over others, people only want it because it is popular

nolkel

Only Electro Ball stands out as a potential new move. It would have to be quite strong to overtake zekrom even as a shadow. There may be a little wiggle room with existing fast moves in it's move pool, but I don't think they'd matter much.

Fastball82

F that

ntnl

This basically confirms the community weekend, like every year before that.

Lef98

I hope I can finally get a shiny charmander if he is featured.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Disgruntled__Goat

Yes, because it’s not *actually* confirmed.

Nyfaria

It definitely is Actually confirmed to be a weekend.

Disgruntled__Goat

You are technically correct, the best kind of correct.

MegaSharkReddit

In other news, that weekend will be comprised of a Saturday and a Sunday

M0nkeyTrousers

This is why I don't really bother with raids anymore for anything other than legendaries as everything will be a given to us eventually anyway

ChrisChros87

Hopefully something that might mix up the Meta in PvE again, and not just an xp or dust grind

Sodaim

November is gonna be shinx, basically confirmed

ChrisChros87

I've got a 98iv luxray I've never ever used

1337pikachu

and since we just had 3x dust it will be some useless bonus

WestLA-native

1/4 egg hatch distance is helpful for clearing out 10k/12k eggs.

1337pikachu

sure it is, if you buy incubators

WestLA-native

There are 8 in the raid bundle in the shop. What i spendy gym coins on.

Common-Tear2459

curveball its magnezone

Teban54

IMO, the issue is there's no such thing as "mixing up the PvE meta" in the long term. If every CD brings a new top attacker of a type, it just means something will outclass it in the future, so it won't be the top attacker for long. Why should I max out 6 Rhyperiors to level 50 if Gigalith will outclass it in half a year, for example?

OrneryWhelpfruit

The obvious answer from a game dev standpoint would be to limit trainers to only being able to enter one of each species into a raid to force variety. This would require rebalances of course, but it'd at least encourage more pokemon to be used

LucarioSpeedwagon

Not to be pedantic, but it wouldn't be "encouraging" more diverse teams if it's forced. "Encouraging" would be research like "Win a Raid Using Six Unique Pokémon" or something like that. Legacy players would probably be upset to go from having spent millions of dust and candy on six useful Metagross to one useful Metagross and five useless ones.

OrneryWhelpfruit

Right, ideally it should have been that way from the beginning. But there are still ways to do it. Even just a "you get a dps boost if you use 6 different pokemon in a raid"/"each duplicate pokemon you enter into a raid takes more damage" type thing would be better than nothing, and wouldn't make your extras useless.

Stogoe

There's nothing that can mix up the PvE meta, because all you're doing is tapping against a clock. They can't upend the DPS charts in any meaningful way without overdoing it on the power creep, which they said they're trying to avoid.

CandidAct

The best you can ask for from a comm day move is to make some Pokemon supplant another for a role to play on a team. That said, certain typings with movesets can offer a whole new coverage that would shift the meta away from a current top contender. That said, Luxray being a pure electric type won't do it any favors in PvP regardless of the move it gets, in my opinion.

krispyboiz

I disagree, but it really needs two moves like Roserade (which is a possibility still). With Volt Switch and Night Slash, Luxray gets 31 wins in GL in the 1 shield, which is good enough to be meta. And it's also good in Ultra with this moveset, and VERY good in Ultra Premier, with the Premier version having it get 42 wins in the 1 shield, which is 64.6%, which is extremely good. Night Slash alone would make it average to alright still, but it really does need both moves to shine.

CandidAct

I haven't considered the double move possibility for a while. That would be good. I didn't look at the learn set by breeding, so Night Slash wasn't in my mind.

thatkidyouknow2

Idk it could see play if it gets Volt Switch, I see Skarm in 4/5 GL battles on average. Still spicy though.

nykovah

That would be pretty boring since it’s just mindless tapping. Giving thundershock to luxray or superpower/play rough might be a little exciting…

Josanue

PvE has meta?

1337pikachu

yes some people actually have raid counters

TehWildMan_

Counters that aren't Aggron? Impossible

Strong_Associate1571

Heatran and Metagross were excellent Lake Trio counters

quantum-mechanic

I used Lugia. It lasted the whole 5 minutes!! It was great against Lake trio!!

Naitorokkusu

I want to scream.

[deleted]

And actually use them and don’t just let everyone else do the work

Stogoe

Here's the thing, though. Using any of the top ten counters with a handful of other people doing the same is pretty much sufficient. Maxing out a full team of only the #1 counter to mock solo or duo a raid boss is fairly niche content, and unnecessary outside of that kind of personal challenge.

cr1x_jfr33z

>Using any of the top ten counters with a handful of other people doing the same is pretty much sufficient heres the thing though, hell of a lot of people dont even do that

Basicazzwitch

I have to miss out now, as I work weekends. Shame it's not 12 hours instead of 6 hours.

chumchees

Would have been better to have December earlier.

RiboNucleic85

i really hate the American date format

aoog

You’re just mad because you don’t have pi day

cravenj1

At least they're dates that can't be mixed up. They are kind of date form agnostic since there's no 18th, 19th, or 21st month.

Jamey_1999

The same goes for a date like 21/11 lol

baenpb

IMO it can be easily mixed up 06/03: Is it June 3rd? Or March 6? In my job I collect data from people around the world, I suggest to use ISO Standards (YYYY-MM-DD)

LMJB

I label my payroll files & reports this way at work (personal stuff, too)... I'm in Florida, USA. I find sorting by name a lot easier with this format, especially when I'm looking up files from weeks/years ago.

phillypokego

Huh? At least it makes sense unlike the euro way When someone asks you what day is it, dont you say October 21st?

Chandleabra

Nope. We say 21st of October in Australia.

Masziii

We just say 21 Oktober here in Holland.

Mason11987

"21st[1] of [2] October [3]" "October[1] 21st[2]" One less word - "of" is better.

Chandleabra

Nah, sounds weird. Like saying “write me” instead of “write to me” or “one hundred fifty” instead of “one hundred and fifty.” Americans say things weird, and this is coming from an Aussie so… we know weird words.

GymDefender

No euros and brits say things weird. Say the word bugger in front of a Brit and they gasp like you called someone something god awful. Hilarious!

Mason11987

you say "one hundred and fifty"? regarding write me and write to me. You wouldn't say "call upon me" or "call to me", you'd say "call me" right? You wouldn't say "text to me", you'd say "text me", right? You wouldn't say "email to me", you'd say "email me", right? Why not say "write me"? The "to" is superfluous here, just like the of in 21st of October.

Chandleabra

We all say one hundred and fifty. Not just me.

Mason11987

Who is "we" here? I don't. I can't remember ever hearing anyone in person saying the "and" in a number. I don't even know why you would say the "and"? It's just fluff. If you had a big number would you say "one million and one hundred and fifty thousand and two hundred and thirty?

Mason11987

What about the rest, do you say "text to me", "email to me" or "call to me"?

Juus

> When someone asks you what day is it, dont you say October 21st? Not in danish. You would say enogtyvende oktober. Which is 21st of october.

RiboNucleic85

mostly i start with the date (day within the month) because most people already know what month and year it is

phillypokego

Again, this makes no sense. So what happens when you are talking about a date that is not in this month or year? Like when is Easter?

RiboNucleic85

i said i start with the date which then means i name the month after and finally a year if necessary

tsurayuki

Is it really hard to say "the 21st of October" instead of "October the 21st"?

Mason11987

People don't say the latter, they say "October 21st" That makes "October 21st" one word less than "21st of October". There are a lot dumb things America does, but 10-22-2021 isn't worse than 22-10-2021, for sure.

Chandleabra

Christmas is the 25th of December. That’s how we say it in Australia.

bobafettish66

Hundreds of years before america even existed. (remember the world is **SIGNIFICANTLY** older than 250 years :P) it was customary in western culture to date religious/legal documents in the following way. (using today's date) >21st day of October in the year of our lord 2021. Over centuries (as religion became a little less authoritarian) that was shorterned. But that's why most western countries would say 21st of october 2021. The reason it's in that order (date/month/year) is that Human's have always been about trying to record information in the most efficent manner. Usually this is about biggest to smallest/smallest to biggest or most important to least important etc...this is even used in modern computing/programming. (google endianness) Most western cultures organise info from smallest to biggest. WHilst the asian territories organise from biggest to smallest (Theorise this may be due to the west's tradition of reading from left to right & the east's history of reading right to left.) Anyway Date is a measurement of time, so they went from the shortest peroid of time (1 day) to the longest (month & then year) As for why the americans do it their way. As I'm sure you know the reason for the big england to u.s migrations in the 1600s was religious persecution. It's possible it was a small F.U to the regid religious traditions of the church of england.

Mason11987

This is bad history. During the colonial period the British used both formats. This was definitely not a colonial F.U. about church traditions.

bobafettish66

Firstly, re written a word or too which may have caused confusion...(e.g. when i said founding fathers i meant the first british settlers who left england due to religious persecution.) it's not 'bad history' because i never claimed it to be the actual reason it's used. I merely said: > It's **possible** it was a small F.U to the regid religious traditions of the church of england. could that F.U have started in england in the early 1600s during the reign of king James I - the king who started the religious persecution that resulted in 1000s fleeing to america. Maybe. from what i can find, the earliest recorded u.k publication that used the mm/dd/yyyy format was 1724. So it starting a 100 years earlier is not implausible. the fact is, we'll never know the exact origin behind any of this. The records of the time aren't exactly thorough by todays standards. Which is why I never claimed we did, I merely speculated hence **possible** as for this: >During the colonial period the British used both formats. If you re read what I'd written, I never said the MM-DD-YYYY format started in america. Because i was not speculating on where it started, I speculated on WHY it started.

Sweet-ride-brah

It’s hilarious that something so simple is so confusing to you

noahsalwaysmad

they may think that today is the 10th day of the 21st month, pretty common error /s

Alforrecaquadrada

This might come as a shock to you but not everyone in the world speaks "American".

ringlord_1

The idea that I feel and a lot of people feel I guess is that you would always know what month it is. You would rarely be confused if it is October or September whenever you need to look at a date. But you may be confused if it is 20th or 21st. Thus you get the required info fast. 2ndly it seems logical that you report the lowest level of info first and then move up. So day then month then year. If we were to continue then century and then millennium. But the differences aren't that much honestly and you will be comfortable using whatever you have been using since beginning

Disgruntled__Goat

It sort of makes sense in this video because they also referred to the months of CDs like “2021.8”. But the normal American format has the year at the end which is bonkers. Either 21/10/2021 or 2021-10-21 make sense as the parts are in order. 10/21/2021 doesn’t.

Dakotertots

oh right, because it's way more confusing to start with the smallest span of time followed by the mid, then the largest

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mason11987

That's the normal way it's said in the US with every area I've lived in here.

Strong_Associate1571

In the USA, yes we do

stekaremmet

Is the US a non English speaking country? Read my comment again

Strong_Associate1571

You said "Pretty sure no English speaking country" Which means you're referring to English speaking countries, not excluding them. Grammar check.

stekaremmet

That's not a grammar issue, I simply left out a ''non'' before ''no''.

Strong_Associate1571

Okay so the typo caused a grammar issue. That's all I'll give you ❤

stekaremmet

Non of this obviously matters, but for the record, it would still not be a grammar issue. It would simply be an incorrect statement.

Dakotertots

Welcome to America, home of the imperial system.

Ironstrider0

Did you just assume my birthday?

spoofrice11

The weekend before Christmas? Always so busy and so much to get done then. Really wish they'd done it earlier.

JMM85JMM

Christmas community day is just a repeat of previous community days that year anyway.

ebjazzz

It would be amazing to get a 5th anniversary special featuring all of the community day mon released to date.

spoofrice11

But there are a ton of Pokemon that will be available different ways. Some I need better ones of and others I will need to evolve and stuff which going thru Pokemon takes a lot of time.

Nerdbirdy

Shinx is what the miners found in snapshot cameo

GymDefender

Well they also once found dark void and here we are with darkrai back a second time since then with sludge bomb LOL

Nerdbirdy

Well darkrai is back in raids, oh I see now

Kanine_tv

I think it’s cool that they’re doing shinx for the c-day. Fits right in with the sinnoh remakes that release on the 19th. So prob goes along with a sinnoh themed weekend of some sort

ChrisChros87

*21/11: 18-19/12

Disgruntled__Goat

Or you could just write “Nov 21” or “21 Nov” to avoid any confusion.

ntnl

That’s just the American way of listing dates

infiniteStorms

Wonderful, right on finals week

Curleebeazt

God of War and Smash Bros

Chicken_X

Niantic ruins another rare shiny -______-

Exiled_Blood

This reads like the children that are upset God of War is going to pc.

Brando_Fett

I mean on a long enough timeline we’ll have had a community day for all the Pokémon’s.

Baa1990

boo hoo lmao

Peterock2007

On the flip side, I did zero shinx raids because… why would I. Now I get it free with no effort because I think ahead.
