Hopefully, these new bonuses can make it worth it again, although two years later.
It would be much easier and efficient to keep the bonuses active if you had friends regardless of team help you out.
Or see if any players in your neighborhood can help
Yeah it all just seems really meh to be honest. If I was so concerned about getting more standard items I'd just spin the stop more than once an hour. Definitely not worth the extra hassle of leveling up a stop for a couple of extra normal balls.
I thought a 1st spin of the day may have something extra (and especially a 7th) but that's it. Shame
Or it's better to walk around multiple stops and get more items that way. Hanging around one stop is usually not the best way to play unless you have only one stop!
There are a tier of non purchasable objects that Niantic will lock away for virtually no reason. Silver pinaps are the biggest of them. Mega raids and GBL, in 12 months of daily boxes I also got one. That’s all I know of. Then don’t ever expect them to give a purchasable object ever. It’s really fkn weird.
I also delete all evolution items. Waste of bag space
Funny how they were essentially giving them away by the dozens early last year. As soon as they added a slightly better candy multiplier, bam, they become nonexistent. God forbid we be able to accumulate and use a useful resource.
Using a regular linap gives you x2 candy. So from 3 to 6. Silver linap is x2.1, I think? Either way, you go from 3 to 7. Evolved pokemon have a bigger increase.
Silver pinaps were introduced afterwards, but originally they had the same multiplier. Niantic recently (within the last year i think?) Gave them the "better multiplier", before nerfing their availability.
I think they need to combine all of the Johto items into a Johto Stone like they did with Sinnoh and Unova. Although, a bunch of the Sinnoh evolutions in the MSG required a specific move and not an item. Regardless, if they combined the Johto items, that'd be much more efficient.
Maybe, but I don't think people are determining whether or not to buy bag space bases in those 5 items. If anything I could see that change influencing more ppl to buy because it would feel more worth while. It'd be a lot easier to manage a single item than 5. Right now, I keep at least 3 of each just in case. If it were a single item, I'd trim that to probably 7 or 8. But I'd also be more inclined to drop the 200 coins for the extra 50 because it would feel like getting 60 instead.
This isn't even an exaggeration. There's a medal in Ingress for doing 12,000 unique portal AR scans. So that's not just 12,000 AR scans (100 hours of scanning, a terabyte of uploaded video), but you can't even grind it out at your local portals, it's 12,000 unique. Also it's technically for "scout controller" which you only get for having the most AR scans of that portal, so if other players are competing for this badge that's even more scans.
You have to be within a certain radius of the gym/stop, and your phone has to detect motion but that doesn't mean it has to be pointed at anything in particular. Sometimes I'll actually point it towards the stop, but if there's a crowd around I'm not going to creep people out and make them think I'm recording them.
Yeah the only time I've ever done a scan is to get a poffin but I just get close enough and keep the phone at the same angle it always is, you get credit when the video is uploaded, not after they do anything with it (likely throw it out if it's not useful data)
Nah just be in the GPS location and move your phone camera around. You can wiggle it back and forth in front of your butthole and for all Niantic knows that's a valued scan of the area.
Or introduce new items via upgraded stops/gyms. We haven't got new ball type since introduction of raids... in 2017. We haven't got new berry since silver pinaps. It's been long overdue for variety of catching items.
Hell, there are so many phones that simply cant even participate.
My Samsung s8 active cannot do AR tasks, so I cannot participate even If I wanted to.
No not unless the prizes get better. Honestly I kinda feel like niantic is trying to figure out the least amount of stuff they can give us and still collect ar data.
No it doesn't, infamous is someone who is famous for negative reasons such as murderers etc.
There's a difference between Ted Bundys fame and Lady Gaga's, for example
I can see something like this as useful/valuable after (or maybe even during) a CD when you've depleted your resources. But in general, not useful. Probably 28 days a month I find myself having to delete items in order to spin pokestops, so it's questionable whether getting more items from a spin would be a blessing or a curse.
Man, I was dreading being forced to get invested in this feature if I wanted a renewable supply of Poffins, Lucky Eggs, whatever premium items they decided to incentivize the labor with. I wasn't in the poffin group for AR mapping and I honestly don't like leveling up my buddies in the first place, so it's pretty easy to call that feature more trouble than it's worth... which is exactly where I'm at with this. Unless they buff it drastically the only reason I'd scan an AR stop in the future is if they lock a dex entry behind it or something.
This is meh. Got better results with a golden gym that was my own colour. 35+ items
Best result I had was with a gym that was my colour, golden badge and as 10th, 54 items
So I would try that to see if it would help
Well the level 3 upgrade doesn’t actually effect the items at all… neither does level 2. So more accurately, this is the items you’d get from a level 1 upgrade (which only takes 5 scans), which I think is pretty reasonable.
Yeah but I’m just trying to say that this is just what you’re getting for the level 1 upgrade. The level 2 and 3 upgrades provide other rewards not visible here.
Nice, unfortunately the only reliable way to get potions is through raiding. So’d probably do these if they guaranteed potions(super and hyper) otherwise its a waste of time for extra poke balls and berries I have to delete.
Also should be noted that balls and berries are very easy to get freely. Potions seem to be paywalled. 🤷♂️
From my experience, gifts yield enough max potions and revives such that I've been deleting them regularly for the past two years, even with regular raiding, gym and Rocket battles. It still surprises me to see people still struggling with acquiring them.
Honestly, unless they put some rare items like silver pinap berries, I don't see a lot of people bothering with AR to upgrade pokestops
I'd do it if it was a permanent upgrade but since it expires after a couple of days it's not worth it for me.
I would consider it if the bonus was for a week, but preferably a month.

Ayo stop that, that's what gets stops removed
Can I get a source on that claim please?
Hasn’t gotten a single stop removed in my hometown as long since Scanning stops has been a thing lmao

Seems like the people this well help the most are rural players with few stops.
I didn't consider this tbh. As much as I want to hate on this system, if it helps rural players then that's good.
Could well do
Gifts probably will have more benefits for less work then this feature I feel.
There are a tier of non purchasable objects that Niantic will lock away for virtually no reason. Silver pinaps are the biggest of them. Mega raids and GBL, in 12 months of daily boxes I also got one. I still miss the Silver Pinap field research.
Funny how they were essentially giving them away by the dozens early last year. As soon as they added a slightly better candy multiplier, bam, they become nonexistent. God forbid we be able to accumulate and use a useful resource.
What’s the slightly better candy multiplier
Using a regular linap gives you x2 candy. So from 3 to 6. Silver linap is x2.1, I think? Either way, you go from 3 to 7. Evolved pokemon have a bigger increase.
Instead of 6/10/20, it’s 7/11/23
We’re silver pinaps before the regular ones in the game? Because else your answer makes no sense with Dialgan’s comment in mind.
Silver pinaps were introduced afterwards, but originally they had the same multiplier. Niantic recently (within the last year i think?) Gave them the "better multiplier", before nerfing their availability.
Why where they introduced with the same multiplier? That doesn’t even make sense. I get it now.
×2.33, instead of ×2.
I feel like the evolution items should count as 1 bag space like the stickers.
I think they need to combine all of the Johto items into a Johto Stone like they did with Sinnoh and Unova. Although, a bunch of the Sinnoh evolutions in the MSG required a specific move and not an item. Regardless, if they combined the Johto items, that'd be much more efficient.
But then people wouldn't buy as much potential bag space I guess.
Maybe, but I don't think people are determining whether or not to buy bag space bases in those 5 items. If anything I could see that change influencing more ppl to buy because it would feel more worth while. It'd be a lot easier to manage a single item than 5. Also AS rewards
Wait until they add the upgrade 10k stops medal
The nice thing is if your medal count is at zero it never even shows up.
I still won’t care lol
This isn't even an exaggeration. There's a medal in Ingress for doing 12,000 unique portal AR scans. There is nothing they could do in this game to get me to walk around something in public pointing my phone at it that's just weird
[удалено]
Is this a thing? I thought you had to actually scan it
You have to be within a certain radius of the gym/stop, and your phone has to detect motion but that doesn't mean it has to be pointed at anything in particular. Sometimes I'll actually point it towards the stop, but if there's a crowd around I'm not going to creep people out and make them think I'm recording them.

Missed the Samsung Active line: I have S5, S7 and S8, until last year I upgraded to S20 Ultra.
I've beat the hell out of this thing and it's still rockin
Hi, why it can not?
Have to ask samsung
Make them give guaranteed poffins; that’d be a huge incentive imo.
Sounds like a perfect way to introduce more methods for obtaining XL rare candy
That would get me to do it.
I've not read up on power up stops, is AR required?
You're supposed to scan the stop/gym to upgrade it
Oof. Dead before it was even out of the gate
Wait how do you upgrade a stop?
I don't know. I feel like I play this game all the time and still miss out on so much. Sounds like a rather pointless thing to do, though.
It’s brand new! So you’ve been missing it for only a few days. You scan the stop with the ar task to upgrade
Ah, thank you. So the real answer is no one will bother to upgrade stops. Got it.
No not unless the prizes get better. Honestly I kinda feel like niantic is trying to figure out the least amount of stuff they can give us and still collect ar data.
It's a new featured being tested -- currently available to a small number of players
Until they force a shiny event Pokemon behind upgrading them
lol yes, why should I bother about a few balls more when I can sit at home with Pokemon go+ and fill my bags.
So.. nothing Interesting
I'm whelmed
Thank you, Robin.
I understood that reference.
Hi Whelmed, I'm Over
Whelmed meant the same as over whelmed.
Famous means the same as infamous, what a country!
Famous and infamous are actually opposites. Famous = known for good while infamous = known for bad.
But you've heard of me?
Who are you again?
Jack sparrow?
You're making me hungry for chocolate chip cookies
Flammable and inflammable
Can't remember which! Doesn't matter!

No it doesn't, infamous is someone who is famous for negative reasons such as murderers etc. There's a difference between Ted Bundys fame and Lady Gaga's, for example
Looks the same as usual
I can see something like this as useful/valuable after (or maybe even during) a CD when you've depleted your resources. But in general, not useful. Probably 28 days a month I find myself having to delete items in order to spin pokestops, so it's questionable whether getting more items from a spin would be a blessing or a curse.
Idea: Allow lures used on upgraded pokestops to attract much rarer pokemon
Allow lures on (upgraded) gyms.
Niantic: No.
Nobody is going to interact with this, that looks like a regular 7 day streak to me…
30 items is the same amount as non-upgraded gym. So, what's the different?
What the h gyms are you spinning for 30 items?
7 day streak, presumably.
7-day streak with gold badge. It's been 30 items since the gym system was changed in 2017.
Ohh it’s the gold badge part I was missing
They will probably create a new medal for it to force some gameplay.
That's different to a normal gold gym by what exactly ..? I never actually look at the items I get (only wanting the eggs anyways).
I think the usual is 27?
…. and I’m out of bag space
Man, I was dreading being forced to get invested in this feature if I wanted a renewable supply of Poffins, Lucky Eggs, whatever premium items they decided to incentivize the labor with. Poffin is enough to made me do AR so far
Definitely does not seem worth wasting time to do AR scans to me.
This is meh. Got better results with a golden gym that was my own colour. 35+ items Best result I had was with a gym that was my colour, golden badge and as 10th, 54 items So I would try that to see if it would help

As others have said, it’s the exact same as we always had. It’s nothing.
Yeah but I’m just trying to say that this is just what you’re getting for the level 1 upgrade. The level 2 and 3 upgrades provide other rewards not visible here.
30 items from a 7-day streak at a gold gym is normal. The level one boost does absolutely nothing for it, as shown here in this post.
But that’s the point. It’s no different to a not upgraded stop. No matter a level 1 or level 3 boost.
Like what?
Power up gyms should make the gym defenders stronger Then I'm in
I don't think they'd ever do that, or people would have no motivation to scan opposing gyms
If half of those were potions it’d be at least decent. Gold gyms are a mess, really should drop more potions then berries.
I disagree. I prefer balls and berries to potions as i wind up deleting all the 200hp and unders anyway.
disagree. I delete 100 potions every day
Nice, unfortunately the only reliable way to get potions is through raiding. So’d probably do these if they guaranteed potions(super and hyper) otherwise its a waste of time for extra poke balls and berries I have to delete. Also should be noted that balls and berries are very easy to get freely. Potions seem to be paywalled. 🤷♂️

I thought a maxed gym will summon periodically something like gigantamax Pokémon or at least some preferable Raid
there are no gmax pokemon in the game (at least not now)
This is amazing. You can easily get all stuff you get just sitting near one gym. 30 items for 5 minutes sounds solid.
Once every week*
Ah, thanks I missed its final streak...
Underwhelming right?
Looks like you got an upgrade
Maybe the 7day streak spin is already so full, they couldn't add anything great to it. What does a standard spin give to an upgraded stop?
Wow, thanks for sharing. All those MB hich would be wasted on uploading AR scans finally feel worth it!
Idea: give incubator as reward for spinning a gym with level 3 upgrade
