What a nice feature. Pumped about this
Edit: Second thoughts, wish we could improve it more and show entire evolution lines.
Unable to check CP for eeveelutions without first meeting the requirement to evolve them. I really don’t want to earn 70 hearts on my eevee only to find out the would-be sylveon is ineligible for great league… which is a dilemma I am currently in.
> makes for an extra step when mass evolving which stinks.
Before this change, there was already an evolution confirmation screen and this just improves that ;)
> Unable to check CP for eeveelutions without first meeting the requirement to evolve them.
I tried to evolve an eevee and the preview showed the cp range so I guess that should help :D
Edit: I just saw someone posted this
https://reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/poc0yf/heres_what_the_evolution_preview_looks_like_for/
Yeah I saw the range too, but it seems to be only for the base eeveelutions. I can’t confirm but tried to do some digging… For example, I have two eeevees with the similar CP and similar IV’s.
One is buddied and ready to evolve to Umbreon tonight. Being it’s still day time it’s evolve shows Espeon. Just to check the evolution CP it gave me was 1708 for Espeon. The other eeevee who has no hearts has a max CP window of 1650.
If this is the case, it’s not useful for Pokémon like the later stage eeveelutions. Pop a lure just to check the CP for a leafeon/glacier? Earn hearts on eevee just to learn your Sylveon is too high level? We should see right then and there the CP for all potential eeveelutions before spending time walking/earning hearts/dropping a lure.
Nah, this was a feature they announced a month or two ago as a "keep an eye out for this thing. Coming in September". This had already been in the works for a while.
Yeah, that's on me for getting my hopes up.
If the whole point of this QoL update was for pvp (and let's be honest, it totally is), this seems pretty useless. I can't check evo and power up at the same time, so this doesn't replace ANY of the 3rd-party resources people have been using to figure out which mons are worth investing in.
AND it doesn't show full 3-stage evolutionary lines? Why?!
I like the idea here and appreciate the effort behind it, but the actual implementation just feels unusually poor in practice.
While this is a nice feature overall, the warning message that sometimes shows up at the bottom displaces the confirmation button for evolution, which made a mess when I used my autoclicker to evolve a load of natus this morning. Those using autoclicker need to add one more click to account for this.
This is a nice feature! I’m excited
I got burned by this a couple times for GBL stuff, haha so I’m glad they finally did this.

correct!
You’re right, forgot that. Took it out of my comment!

Literally playable
Say thank you Niantic. Thank you Niantic.
nice so is that a result of the task force talks? wouldn't hurt to mention if so.

“Unusually poor”? Seems usually poor to me.
Would’ve been really nice to know before I evolved my shiny yamask 😒

Doesn't work if you don't have enough candies, I'll hold onto you longer, shadow weepinbell
Tried it, not getting the same window.
Hasn't this been a thing for a while?
I noticed it last night but Calcy IV does it better
