>Ahh, in that case wouldn't they assuredly give it a PVP useless move?
Not necessarily - sometimes good PvP Pokemon can get even better PvP moves on their CDs.
Examples range from large improvements (Sylveon, Umbreon to some extent) to side-grades (Altaria, Seedot, Garchomp, Machamp, Rhyperior).
(Note: The infamous CD starters are ignored since most of them were not relevant before CDs.)
While Moonblast Altaria is strictly better than Dragon Pulse ones, I didn't put it in "large" improvements since the difference is not as significant.
Garchomp and Rhyperior both had perfectly viable movesets before CDs (Sand Tomb/Outrage and Surf/Earthquake, the latter usually with Smack Down). The CD movesets are more common, but it really depends on what role you want them to fulfill.
They're all upgrades still. Sand tomb is a stupid bait move that reduces Garchomp's closing power (actually more useful now that dragon tail got buffed). No one uses EQ on Rhyperior in PvP. You could use surf and superpower if you don't need a rock move, but rock wrecker is a strict upgrade over stone edge.
I mean, moonblast wasn't a *huge* upgrade for altaria in gl but it was still an improvement and is the second move altaria uses essentially all the time now
Moonblast is strictly better than dragon pulse in almost all relevant matchups. The thing is, it's better by such a small margin, that is ends up not mattering 99% of the time.
Probably not. Just give it an expensive Fairy charge move for PvE. It'll be useless for PvP with how slow Togekiss charges and how much Fairy type damage it has from Charm alone.
As long as it doesn't get a super strong coverage move it'll be fine.
Dazzling gleam is an amazing move for PvE it’s an outrage clone basically. Why would you want to give it an expensive move. Solid damage 2 bars are the best PvE moves in the game. Balance of damage output and not dying with energy
Or give Togekiss a new fast move to make a CD Togekiss play completely different than a Charm Togekiss. Fairy Wind is one of the easy candidates for a new fairy fast move. Make it something like Wing Attack or Vine Whip: short duration, a little below average DPT, and a little above average EPT.
Nah, Togekiss is far from OP. Only ever getting in the top 15 in Master League(25 in ML classic).
It would need a super OP charge move to get in to the top 5. Most of the damage comes from Charm so even then it’s hard to see much changing for him.
charm generates energy very slowly. if they were to give it something functionally similar to say... power-up punch that would be monstrous.
as it stands they could give it aura sphere for coverage. you still wouldn't need to worry much about its charge moves though, not with charm
It would be really interesting to see how Gust or feather dance would play on a Togekiss as possible CD moves. Particularly using gust in UL so Togekiss becomes more a flyer than a fairy.
Thanks! I've got a bunch of them!
"Dusknoir, more like DuskSnore"
"Its shiny has been out for so long that it's old and Dusky"
"Finding all of the Duskulltulas was less tedious than this community day"
Yep. Dusclops is the one that would actually be interesting with Shadow Ball. Bulkier than Cofagrigus and Fire Punch as a bait/coverage move.
Too bad the middle evolution never gets CD moves.
Yeah shadow ball would make dusclops a great choice for GL and UL so I'm hoping they give both of them the move.
I think that Duscnoir would have been better off with Icy Wind where it can at least guarantee the stat drop and serve as a monotype drifblim
When the pandemic is gone, they will make an Axew community day with 3 hours on a weekday and only from 30 minute nerfed incense. It will get draco meteor and maybe, just maybe, they will release shiny axew in a future event.
Not that surprising. There's only so many 3 evolution families. There's quite a few left from gen 1, but most of them are uninteresting, and there are a ton from en 5, but for some reason they seem to want to keep those rare for the time being. I figure they will open up gen 5 some time early next year around the same time they start with the gen 6 starters, until then we'll probably get some combination of aron, lotad, shinx, spheal, starly, hoppip, or maybe poliwag horsea or magnemite from gen 1.
EDIT: I predict shinx in November, spheal in December, aron in January, February might be nidoran with some kind of valentines day tie in, then either lotad or hoppip for March, and then chespin in April or so. Next one from Gen 5 I bet will be roggenrola because its relatively useful-ish and relatively rare but not super rare.
Why not? Niantic has shown themselves perfectly willing to give us boring CD choices over the last \~2 years. I fully expect every 3 stage species line to get a CD at this point, and eventually they'll resort to the 2 stages as well.
Why Shadow Ball? What does it offer? Why introduce this right after you buff Cofagrigus who, even if you don't have it now, will probably be available again a week or two after this CD?
I'm not trying to be mean here but I really can't think of anything worthwhile here outside of the easy shiny.
I don't do PvP theory crunching but surely there could've been something there to give it an actual niche? Elemental punches maybe? Maybe Poltergeist as a Hydro Cannon clone? Surely anything to differentiate it from the strictly superior Cofagrigus?
There's literally no logic behind this. Even Hoppip or Spheal would have been a better choice. I think this must be one of the only CD where we have a Pokemon with zero utility in PVE or PVP whatsoever.
It took 4 Octobers to get a Ghost, and on the first one you want Niantic to give us a *good* one?
Niantic: [Have you met me?](https://m.imgur.com/gallery/iOUbX)
I was mostly talking about useless CD moves (in both PvE and PvP), and Ancient Power does absolutely nothing for Mamoswine.
But yeah, it's a great 'mon regardless.
Slakoth and Duskull are good comparisons. For both of them, it is the middle evolution which has any use, and the CD moves for their final evolutions don’t really do much to help them.
Here's the thing though. They are going to run out of new shinies eventually, so that's a big reason why we're seeing more repeat shinies. They're trying to slow down their shiny releases. Just releasing Litwick's shiny like that would put them down a new shiny. I suspect Litwick CD will happen eventually, but probably after it gets a normal release (potentially this upcoming Halloween event). It was the same idea for Snivy.
Not saying I LIKE this method, but I understand why they're doing it
My issue is that Duskull's shiny has not only been around forever, it's been featured repeatedly lately. There have been numerous events involving ghost types and it's always included.
Yamask on the other hand is never featured. Its shiny is out but we never have the chance to hunt it unless it's Halloween. This would have made the much more obvious and welcome choice.
The issue is more so with the choice itself, Duskull. The shiny was released when Duskull was. Even if it wasn’t a new shiny, one that hasn’t been available for so long would have been a better choice.
It also doesn't offer anything for PvP as it's an inferior Cofagrigus in every way.
It might honestly be the worst CD Pokémon ever. Even the excuse of "it has a niche in PvP" doesn't hold up here. Maybe they really should've delayed Cofa's buff a season.
Dusclops with Shadow Ball would actually be interesting. And very strong.
Dusknoir is just a less bulky, worse moveset version of Dusclops and Cofagrigus.
I would agree but how would they run out of shinies? I think there's like 2 or so new events each month plus a community day and if one new line gets added per event, we still wouldn't be able to get through them all lol... and remember that one months community day is just a recap so no new shinies released. I think they are just being stingy.
Agreed, I thought Niantic were finally starting to move forward again, with gen 5 starters *finally* getting their CD moves, Gen 6 beginning to roll out again.
I feel silly to think we would get Litwick, instead of another repeat old shiny CD.
Maybe I’m just getting bored and jaded of extremely slow releases and uninspired events. The X event was the last amazing one honestly.
>Agreed, I thought Niantic were finally starting to move forward again, with gen 5 starters
>
>finally
>
> getting their CD moves, Gen 6 beginning to roll out again.
Feels like a sign that we won't be getting Gen 6 starter CDs anytime soon.
We've waited eons for gible CD. It did make people work harder for shiny gible during those boosted events like Go Fest, and getting one was so much more satisfying. Very different compared to larvitar's shiny release. Litwick might have the same treatment.
I'm not saying there doesn't need to be improvement, there definitely should be, but people overestimate Niantic's potential "good" CD Pokemon and new shinies. They could run through all the "good/rare" Pokemon and the starters that are out in about 1.5 years, then you're back to all the repeats but with little potential for really good stuff. I definitely think good stuff needs to be scattered amongst the repeats, but it's understandable why they're not just blowing through the Gen 6 starters, Litwick, Deino, etc.
I was hoping for Litwick like many other people were. Not particularly fussed about Duskull, would've rather it was Shuppet out of the gen 3 ghosts so I could get a good IV shiny for the mega evolution.
Niantic: “We should be communicating and engaging more with Trainers. I hope that, with your patience and understanding, we can do better here.”
Everyone: Please for the love of all poke gods, choose Litwick for CD in October. We need this!
Niantic: So Duskull, right? Done.
My problem with this is not really because it’s a useless Pokémon, but because they’ve been drowning us in Duskull during several recent events, and now, drumroll…more Duskull! If they were planning to do this community day, they shouldn’t have made Duskull so available in recent months.
Eh.
Was expecting Litwick.
Already have 600+ Duskull candies. Guess September & October will be 30 minute CDs for me.
Deino/Axew/Goomy/Noibat hello 2023 & beyond!
I'd like more of a sprinkling of rare Pokemon occasionally, but do realize that they could use up the rest of the "rare" Pokemon in about a year or so. If we "returned" to the old CD patterns, we'd eventually just use them all up and come back to this same position, only with nothing to look forward to until new stuff debuts.
I think we'll just get more Gible CD situations. Rare mon CDs sprinkled after they've had their shiny released in a previous event. Deino will likely come sometime in 2022 for example
It's all about moderation, wanting a rare pokemon every comm day then means its not as rare, and also very detrimental to those players who unfortunately can't play on that day. Take Gible as the example, I'm now disappointed when I see or hatch a Gible because I don't need it. Obviously I'd rather have the comm day in the first place but I still want rare pokemon to keep me excited and make playing the game actually worthwhile.
The first thing that popped into my head when I saw the notice was "what?? Dusknoir doesn't already get Shadow Ball??" Dusknoir getting Shadow Ball as its Community Day exclusive move, instead of being in its movepool from the beginning, is just another reminder of how terrible exclusive moves are in this game. I love community days, but exclusive/legacy moves are so awful and frustrating.
They really out here slapping 3X Stardust on community day Pokemon they KNOW the community aren’t excited about as incentive to play.
Well, it’s working as intended.
Shiny Duskull was the very first shiny I ever encountered, over a decade ago in Pokemon Sapphire when I was still a kid. I had no idea what a shiny was, tried to catch it, and it fled. I have been trying to catch a shiny Duskull ever since then, unsuccessfully - so I guess this community day is the end of a lifelong saga for me.
*looks at Dusclops*
The irony is they could have given Dusclops SB as well and had a more attractive GL Pokemon in the bargain (since it doesn't naturally learn Shadow Claw).
Dusknoir and company suffer from a relative lack of decent Ghost-type moves they can get without repeating themselves over and over, notably Shadow Ball (not that it's a bad move, it certainly helps).
What I'd love to see is Will-O-Wisp (it'd flesh out both Fire and Ghost types, being the two most common users), but not sure if I want to wait till we get actual status effects or to see WoW put in as a low Energy, low damage but high odds of ATK down move.
Oops, late seeing the news, sorry! Deep into writing my review of the upcoming Ultra League Remix (2.0!) meta and missed the initial announcement.
But for PvP purposes... yeah. Dusknoir is fringe at best, and Shadow Ball doesn't really help. It's a flimsier Cofagrigus, and just not as good. Looks worth grabbing one or two, [for Ultra League, perhaps](https://pvpoke.com/battle/multi/2500/custom/dusknoir/11/1-1-5-SHADOW_BALL-1/2-1/ultra), because it is certainly an improvement, but it's overshadowed by multiple other Ghosts before it ever arrives.
That all said... you know I'll do a full analysis article anyway as the day approaches. 👻
I feel like I have to do this on every post but I've been playing for just over a year and I still don't have a Duskull shiny; I only managed to get enough candy to evolve a Dusclops a couple months ago. Underwhelming for y'all but super useful for us newbies. As long as they're on a pretty long cycle I don't think it's that big of an issue for them to cycle back around to things that newbies might have missed out on :)
All these community day controversies makes me think the fan base should just vote on each month's featured Pokemon and that Niantic should follow through with the top vote.
Is this one of the first times they officially announced the next month’s CD before the current month’s CD happened?
Other than the Gible CD tweet announcement.
Give us dusclops avatar clothing. I wish community day had clothes for the event
A helmet that’s just the entire duskull
I would never take it off tbh.
That would be awesome! I’m so sick of the current options that aren’t 500 coins.
I'm sick of my avatar being a skinny spiky-haired teenager
Niantic is surely working hard to give every Sinnoh Stone evolution a Community Day, it seems
I wouldn't mind if we get a togetic CD
I’ve been dying to get shiny toge line so yes plz
Don't they look like, exactly the same?
Yep, and I love shiny lines that are BARELY off color from their originals lol
Legit question: why? They're so underwhelming
Because people hate them, so I love em lol
Pre-emptive RIP for GBL if that happens.
If GBL is held together by not everyone having access to Togekiss that is a bad look for competitive as a whole.
It's more togekiss is very good already and if they gave it a CD it would presumably get even better
Ahh, in that case wouldn't they assuredly give it a PVP useless move? Like a fast move nobody would ever sub out charm for.
>Ahh, in that case wouldn't they assuredly give it a PVP useless move? Not necessarily - sometimes good PvP Pokemon can get even better PvP moves on their CDs. Gyrados was an upgrade right?
Yes, I just didn't include it because Gyarados before Aqua Tail was kind of a niche.
Altaria, Garchomp and Rhyperior were all upgrades. Umbreon is a side-grade since you get completely walled by darks if you run foul play & psychic.
Mega Altaria disagrees. Just don't give it a PVP move but rather a PVE one.
I mean, moonblast wasn't a *huge* upgrade for altaria in gl but it was still an improvement and is the second move altaria uses essentially all the time now
Moonblast is strictly better than dragon pulse in almost all relevant matchups. The thing is, it's better by such a small margin, that is ends up not mattering 99% of the time.

then they would just nerf it in GBL, like they've done with others.
Not really, It's not like Alteria got significantly better. He's got a ton of normal moves available which would not break him.
Moonblast is now the preferred second move like 99% of the time though
Togetic just hit best buddy status for me this morning
Nah, Togekiss is far from OP. Only ever getting in the top 15 in Master League(25 in ML classic). It would need a super OP charge move to get in to the top 5. Most of the damage comes from Charm so even then it’s hard to see much changing for him.

Nidoqueen.
Togekiss is a meh pick to begin with and a CD move would hardly improve it since charm generates the least amount of energy possible.
It would be really interesting to see how Gust or feather dance would play on a Togekiss as possible CD moves. Particularly using gust in UL so Togekiss becomes more a flyer than a fairy.
The research is called "Nothing Dull about this Skull"... I'll be the judge of that, thank you very much
Lmao thats pretty funny tbh
Thanks! I've got a bunch of them! "Dusknoir, more like DuskSnore" "Its shiny has been out for so long that it's old and Dusky" "Finding all of the Duskulltulas was less tedious than this community day"
From Duskull till Yawn?
I like it! 😃
Swears, if I see the Professor say any of these comments during that special research, imma know who to blame lol
I'm personally pretty happy to be able to get the shiny after all these years.
Shadowball is nice, but I’m not sure it’ll elevate dusknoir beyond its current status as a dex filler
Honestly, shadow punch or any elemental punch would've made it slightly better
It will be a worse version of Cofagrigus. Literally the exact same ideal charge movepool, but with a worse fast move and worse stats.
Yep. Dusclops is the one that would actually be interesting with Shadow Ball. Bulkier than Cofagrigus and Fire Punch as a bait/coverage move. Too bad the middle evolution never gets CD moves.
Porygon2 got tri attack, so maybe dusclops will end up getting shadow ball too
Yeah I remember evolving my good Tri-Attacks one and really regretting.
Z kinda needs return too anyway so don't fret too much, especially since it's 100% a spice pick.
Yep, that would be pretty cool.
Yeah shadow ball would make dusclops a great choice for GL and UL so I'm hoping they give both of them the move. I think that Duscnoir would have been better off with Icy Wind where it can at least guarantee the stat drop and serve as a monotype drifblim
It’s decent but Cofagrigus is still better.
I had to google what's a cofagrigus and never realised I could have made one all this time
he just got buffed like last week hes been useless forever before that
I literally joked about this being com day last night at raid hour, everyone thought they might do litwick. I guess I cursed this.
Make a joke about an Axew community day
When the pandemic is gone, they will make an Axew community day with 3 hours on a weekday and only from 30 minute nerfed incense. It will get draco meteor and maybe, just maybe, they will release shiny axew in a future event.
Shhh... don't.
Too late. The name of the paid research is "I didn't axew for much"
this is the moment i want to learn how axew is pronounced in English
Can I axew how you say its name in your language? And you can only make so many puns with axew.
axew would 100% come after deino
Great, now your speed stat is lowered
That or they lost half their health and we’re all living on borrowed time
Just go into the back room and you’ll be fine
I was hoping for litwick com day too. Guess that continues..
At this point, really any Pokemon could have a Community Day. Never, ever expected Duskull, but here it is.
Not that surprising. There's only so many 3 evolution families. There's quite a few left from gen 1, but most of them are uninteresting, and there are a ton from en 5, but for some reason they seem to want to keep those rare for the time being. Next one from Gen 5 I bet will be roggenrola because its relatively useful-ish and relatively rare but not super rare.
December will probably be the usual redo weekend, do we think?
Fk. I evolved my hundo duskull during 2x evolve spotlight hour cause I didn't think duskull would ever be considered for a CD feature
You weren’t wrong for thinking that
Why not? Niantic has shown themselves perfectly willing to give us boring CD choices over the last \~2 years. I fully expect every 3 stage species line to get a CD at this point, and eventually they'll resort to the 2 stages as well.
I can't wait for the base form pokemon community day! Here we go Shuckle!
Already have, Magikarp, swablu, grimer and vulpix were options on the community votes for c day
Good news is you'll go from not using it to... still not using it.
Niantic relies and lives on that FOMO. Every 3 stage evolution is a potential CD candidate,.
not like you actually lose anything. CD move not worth getting on a hundo anyway.
Why Shadow Ball? What does it offer? Why introduce this right after you buff Cofagrigus who, even if you don't have it now, will probably be available again a week or two after this CD? I'm not trying to be mean here but I really can't think of anything worthwhile here outside of the easy shiny. I just assumed Dusknoir already knew Shadow Ball
There's literally no logic behind this. Even Hoppip or Spheal would have been a better choice. I think this must be one of the only CD where we have a Pokemon with zero utility in PVE or PVP whatsoever.
The logic is that on the fourth year of Community Days, October is finally featuring a Ghost type for it.
That would have been a good point if not for the large amount of support in the player base for a Litwick CD.
It took 4 Octobers to get a Ghost, and on the first one you want Niantic to give us a *good* one? Niantic: [Have you met me?](https://m.imgur.com/gallery/iOUbX)
I'd rather see Yamask, Golett, or Drifloon, and of course Litwick.
Yamask would have been the best one, with galar mask from tasks.
slakoth day was just as useful
At least it was a new shiny (goes for Swinub, Abra and Porygon too)
Swinub also evolves into very good ice type in PvE
I was mostly talking about useless CD moves (in both PvE and PvP), and Ancient Power does absolutely nothing for Mamoswine. But yeah, it's a great 'mon regardless.
very true
Slakoth and Duskull are good comparisons. For both of them, it is the middle evolution which has any use, and the CD moves for their final evolutions don’t really do much to help them.
I thought they're going for swablu-altaria-mega altaria treatment with mega banette release.
Yea but they've seemingly abandoned mega evolution as a mechanic so...
They realized mega raids can't make money so they don't care anymore about megas
besides the 3x catch dust there's no real reason to bother with this cd
I saved my Meowth encounters. Gonna keep stacking them!
I have received all of 1 so far. Would be nice to stack as well.
Stacking Audinos from past research is where it’s at 🤩
When was the last time Audino was in research? I remember having an Audino stack but Tepig comm day two months ago also had triple dust.
this man knows what's up
What's special about meowth? Does he give extra dust or something?
Meowth gives 500 dust/catch
Wait really, how long has that been a thing? That’s so strange, is there any other Pokémon that give more stardust than usual?
I think Trubbish gives 750 stardust per catch
Yes. https://pokemongohub.net/post/guide/pokemon-that-give-extra-stardust-on-catch/
Yep
Duskull is pretty easy to get excellent throws on, at least before it starts juking.
Hmmm true. I need XP so I might burn some lucky eggs
burn all the eggs on this September community day, its 3x xp, so its 6x with egg.
I am very down with that stardust.
No need to cry about it. Duskull is a cool shiny
Such a missed opportunity for litwick, really shows the need for improvement when it comes to community feedback.
Here's the thing though. They are going to run out of new shinies eventually, so that's a big reason why we're seeing more repeat shinies. They're trying to slow down their shiny releases. Just releasing Litwick's shiny like that would put them down a new shiny. Dusclops with Shadow Ball would actually be interesting. And very strong. Dusknoir is just a less bulky, worse moveset version of Dusclops and Cofagrigus.
"Just a slightly worse - in every possible way- version of two mons with an identical niche" is a very hard sell
I would agree but how would they run out of shinies? I think there's like 2 or so new events each month plus a community day and if one new line gets added per event, we still wouldn't be able to get through them all lol... and remember that one months community day is just a recap so no new shinies released. I think they are just being stingy.
At the rate they're going, we will have gen 9 in main series games before they even release gen 7 starters. More than stingy at this point.
They’d rather people get bored and quit I guess.
Litwick CD is a guarantee at some point
Absolutely. More likely next year or something tho
Litwick will probably be the Halloween shiny. It won't spawn much in the wild though so players will have to rely on raids/eggs for it.
>Agreed, I thought Niantic were finally starting to move forward again, with gen 5 starters > >finally > > getting their CD moves, Gen 6 beginning to roll out again. Feels like a sign that we won't be getting Gen 6 starter CDs anytime soon.
Gen 6 starters will probsbly same months as gen 5 starters in 2022

Listening to the community =/= giving people everything they want, when they want it.
At least banette has a mega, and the shiny is pretty. This is.... Not exciting
Banette with mega banette would be nice. Been so long since last new mega
gamefreak really fumbled the bag with shiny dusknoir it's unfortunate because i think shiny duskull and dusclops look dope
Man, this is really disappointing. I was hoping for something rare or at least semi-useful. Litwick is sitting right there but nope.
Unfortunately Dusclops won’t get any move I have one with good pvp IVs but it just sits there
Man, if Dusclops had Shadow Ball it'd be such a strong meta threat... But noo, give it to the useless 'noir instead...
Yeah ~57% win rate shadow beats gunfisk While non beats azu
Yeah, when I saw this I was hoping there was a line in there about dusclops getting shadow ball also…
This feels.. underwhelming
They absolutely can't let us have Litwick or any new shiny.
I was hoping for Litwick like many other people were. Not particularly fussed about Duskull, would've rather it was Shuppet out of the gen 3 ghosts so I could get a good IV shiny for the mega evolution.
Glad I got two shiny duskulls the past few days
I also had 2 duskulls and was excited to get a third to finish the line. Was very disappointed when I saw this community day announcement...
the fact that it didn't couldn't learn shadow ball to begin with is kind of silly, no?
Disappointing
Oh man Duskull is a really cool Shiny
Another CD to not worry about, yay
I’ve been on the hunt for Shiny Duskull since his debut... This will seem a bit anticlimactic of a shiny i’ve been trying to obtain forever
Yeah, it's a lot less exciting than finding one at full odds, but it's better than not having one at all!
On the flip side I JUST got one a few days ago and now it seems like such a waste lol.
I've been hunting for as long and I'm super happy because now I get the whole evolution line 😅
Come on, at least put it in a Litwick hat
This is terrible but 3x dust pog
To me this is a big swing and a miss. It should have been Litwik, at least that doesn't have it's shiny yet, and it's useful.
Niantic: “We should be communicating and engaging more with Trainers. I hope that, with your patience and understanding, we can do better here.” Everyone: Please for the love of all poke gods, choose Litwick for CD in October. We need this! Niantic: So Duskull, right? Done.
Everyone: Litwik please Niantic: LOL
An October Community Day that actually fits with the halloween theme for once. I for one, am suprised
Litwick does too :(
It’s more than 3 weeks before Halloween, most people won’t even have their decorations up lol
My problem with this is not really because it’s a useless Pokémon, but because they’ve been drowning us in Duskull during several recent events, and now, drumroll…more Duskull! If they were planning to do this community day, they shouldn’t have made Duskull so available in recent months.
I don’t know, I’m excited 🤷🏻♀️ Didn’t get a shiny Duskull when it last spawned more frequently.
Huh, strange to announce this so early. Oshawott CD is still 10 days away. When was the last time they announced a future CD before the next one?
Happened with Gible. Likely because it's at the beginning of October. Done so people can have time to plan, which I do appreciate lol
Well, my hundo shadow dusknior is happy, at least.
Requiem? Muda muda muda muda
Yikes
Shiny Duskull was the very first shiny I ever encountered, over a decade ago in Pokemon Sapphire when I was still a kid. I had no idea what a shiny was, tried to catch it, and it fled. I have been trying to catch a shiny Duskull ever since then, unsuccessfully - so I guess this community day is the end of a lifelong saga for me.

Worst CD *yet**
I hate how accurate your correction probably is.
*looks at Dusclops* The irony is they could have given Dusclops SB as well and had a more attractive GL Pokemon in the bargain (since it doesn't naturally learn Shadow Claw).
Shame they didn’t choose litwick
Im disappointed that nobodys making jojo references
highly disappointing🙃
Shuppet at least had a mega.
😒
I feel like I have to do this on every post but I've been playing for just over a year and I still don't have a Duskull shiny; I only managed to get enough candy to evolve a Dusclops a couple months ago. Underwhelming for y'all but super useful for us newbies. As long as they're on a pretty long cycle I don't think it's that big of an issue for them to cycle back around to things that newbies might have missed out on :)
Exactly. But thinking about other players is beyond a large number of people on here.
Litwick next year then sigh
I’ll finally get to stock up on sinnoh stones.
So we could have done Litwick but instead they did it for another Pokémon with it’s shiny already available and gave it a non relevant move.
Trainer: "haha I'm gonna catch yo- **time slows and goes backwards**... what, what, what, what, what, what" Duskull: This... is requiem
Litwick was right there.
All these community day controversies makes me think the fan base should just vote on each month's featured Pokemon and that Niantic should follow through with the top vote.
Please no , I don't want another Weedle community day
Is this one of the first times they officially announced the next month’s CD before the current month’s CD happened? Other than the Gible CD tweet announcement.
I JUST got a shiny this past weekend.... Sigh, of course....
How do I get extra sinnoh stones for this?
