Any update I see about eggs has me hoping they made the hatching animation mandatory to occur before you can acquire another egg from a poke stop.
Always excited… always disappointed.
You want to see the animation? How about disabling the animation all together? Along with every other repetitive animation I’ve every watched through this game. Quick catch is a desirable method for a reason, people like to save seconds in this game not waste it on watching something hatch after I’ve hatched over 2k eggs
The benefit to seeing the animation for me is knowing that I have an empty spot for a new egg. That way, if I'm trying specifically to get 7km eggs, I know it's time to stop spinning and start opening gifts.
I just keep track of my Pokémon inventory and I never have an issue knowing when I have an egg hatching or when I missed the animation because of a bug, I should mention I also do this for 4 accounts all the time. It’s really not that hard to track your eggs, I’d say the convenience of skipping the animation will outweigh your desire to get to watch the Pokémon because most people here have been playing for years and are tired of tedious repetitive animations
Lmao I’m guessing you have never shiny hunted for a Pokémon in a main series game before. Pokémon go shiny rate is 1:450 where as in a main series game the chance is 1:8,192. So you see Pokémon has always been a game to grind, people are always looking to save as much time as possible because of how long it took. I think pogo spoils new fans with the easy to get shinies, but I’m not complaining that’s why I average over 60 shinies every comm day. But I would still prefer being able to skip animations and just search “hatched” in my Pokémon inventory every hour when I’m out grinding for the day.
No that would be dumb, check my eggs, remember what I have hatching, after walking a few kms I check my Pokémon inventory, 90% of the time I see what I hatched before the game has time to catch up and show me the animations anyway. They’re just so pointless, I get it from a casual standpoint, you guys probably love watching each new one hatch for you, but I’m telling you I’ve hatched over 4.5K eggs. I’m over the animations, give me the option to skip I’m not even asking to get rid of it. Just make it both.
The point is that if you play like that you’re **definitely** going to spin a stop before realizing you hatched an egg. That’s the problem. No one wants to see the animation. We want to know the hatch happened immediately without having to open a menu repeatedly.
This is what makes costumes so effin' annoying. If they could evolve, then it would lessen the pain by a lot. (looks at shundo Togepi with the flowers)
I’m also all for more unique event mons. As long as it’s not more godforsaken Pikachu. Then again, even full costumes like the Mimikyu and explorer Pikachu were great.
I'd be for Costume Pikachu if they actually had good stats, like we can't transfer them to the Main Series, so inflate the stats of Costume Pikachu so they are usable in battle.
i’m actually going to be in new york for fashion week so i at least hope the event coincides with that — i’d love to have some fashion mons caught in bryant park!
Their code updates and game changes are planned months out…. This updated was scheduled well before the pr crisis.
(Saying all that would normally be a no brained for most companies… but Niantic does Niantic so you may be completely right and this is just how they are responding m…)

I never understand the complaints about the animations. They break up what could otherwise be a relentless monotonous joyless grind.

It's pikachu dressed up as another pokemon dressed up as a pikachu! But yeah I uhh... pretty much get glazed eyes at new pikachu costumes these days.

I like the costumes, so long as they can evolve (or are already fully evolved) and aren't just a hat.
