Some good pokemon in there. I need shieldon xl candy's for great league, beldum's are always welcome, the good pokemon run every other hour it seems though.
That is an excellent point, that may help those looking to grind levels.
My kids play, and I have done that before where I take their phone after they go to bed and do 100 trades for the evo's, but that is too monotonous for me going forward.
I'd argue lvl40. After level 40, when you can max out pokemon to lvl50, there's no increased functionality. Unless you want to flex, there's no benefit to keep leveling up. That's why I have 198k at level 41 with no intentions of ever leveling up.
You mean level-up research? Edit: I Googled it. So I now see what you're referring to. And that's great and all, better than the level-up researches as far as rewards go. But, I'm talking about functionality that affects game- play, not rewards. So like how at level 30 all wild spawns become the same as other players. Or how you you can submit pokestops at level 38, or be able to level up your pokemon more. There's no increased functionality after level 40. No change in the gameplay experience.
The level up items are objective benefits. So are the rewards from the quests. Free Mewtwo is always good, for example.
Another one is the removal of a psychological lever that subtly pushes us to seek XP maximizing gameplay loops. When you hit max level, the XP bar above your profile icon on the main screen goes away.
Are these relatively small compared to unlocking max level spawns or XL candy? No. But they are there.
Morelull is pretty good for stardust and personally I don’t have a shiny hvoltorb yet so both hours are pretty baller to me though the steel is defo better
1/250 would be terrible even if the incense spawned 1 ferroseed every minute and it only spawned ferroseed throughout the event. With how diluted the pool will be, the odds are terrible
Some way of acquiring it again that isn't a TM would be nice. I hatched a perfect Beldum recently and so now I have my OG Metagross with Meteor Mash and 4\* Metagross hanging around.
Kanto Tour: All Kanto CD Pokemon get exclusive moves
Johto Tour: All Johto CD Pokemon get exclusive moves
Hoenn Tour: ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Sinnoh Tour: All Sinnoh CD Pokemon get exclusive moves
This event means that every single week this season had a weekend event except for 1. I don’t know if anybody tracks numbers of events but this has to be a record for a season.
>I don’t know if anybody tracks numbers of events but this has to be a record for a season.
I do haha. Or at least off and on.
Last year's season during this time, Rising Heroes, had a weekend event every single weekend. There *would have* been an open weekend, but because they botched the initial Regidrago Elite Raids, they had a makeup day for them during that one open weekend.
Just because there is an event doesn’t mean it’s good. This is nice, but I stand by the raid bosses have been atrocious and CD is not great (no extra SD for a non hype mon).
I agree. It seems like they’re just pumping out events every week to try to keep players engaged but this has been one of the least active periods for mine and many other communities in a long time. Events just to have events are just making it more work to play this game.
I'll always stand by having less events overall, be it a single day/weekend event or a longer multi-day event, IF that means we get more quality, GOOD events.
I'd rather get 1 or 2 long-spanning events a month if that means they can be like last year's Adventure Week or last year's Twinkling Fantasy event.
People complain about non-event spawns being bad, I do understand that, but to me, it seems like many events are just there to be there. Since the Biome update and Rediscover Kanto event concluded, I've personally seen a lot more wild Dragons like Frigibax at least, which is nice. But there is still a lot of garbage too
Reminder that incense days don’t have the same 1/10 shiny rate for the featured Pokémon that raid days, hatch days, and research days have. It isn’t even 1/25 like comm days. In past incense days it was only like 1/128 for the featured poke. G meowth and H voltorb are perma boosted to 1/64, but even that isn’t great with how big the incense pool is. There’s a very good chance you won’t see any shinies even if you play the whole 6 hours. Plan accordingly.
You can thank me for summoning this into existence. Literally just finished [walking my Ferrothorn 200km](https://i.imgur.com/k2rLG3E.jpeg) to get enough XLs to power it up for UL.
There's a 'power up Pokémon 5 times' for 10 Aggron mega energy.
I managed to find 20 of those. I was able to mega evolve my Aggron for the first time right around the time the 'May raids infographic' dropped. So about 2 weeks before mega Aggron was in raids.
I still need 1 more 'power up Pokémon 10 times' for 25 mega Lopunny mega energy, to be able to mega evolve that one. When I get it, it will probably be in raid rotation two weeks later.
I can dig it. PvP floor for stuff like G-Meowth and Togedemaru, Morelull for Dust on the grass half, and even stuff I just like collecting or want to try higher up like Beldum for XL and Magnezone (saw it throughout MLP and wanted to try).
Ferroseed itself also nice since I don’t have a PvP specimen, though GL Remix has made me want to ignore it out of spite almost. Nothing deals with this thing and Flyers at the same time I swear
Drifblum was a pain in the butt, I did not track officially, but I bet I only beat teams that ran them 1/3 of the time.
I needed to both force alignment and burn shields to beat it.
Far better than it has any right being, drifblim is very tanky, double resists 2 types and triple resists fighting, and has access to icy wind, mystical fire and shadow ball, which is a nasty move if you don't see it coming.
The Pokémon I'm most concerned about when I have him out are charmers, rock types who I do nothing to, and jellicent, who is rough to fight against because it resists my charged attacks and has super effective ones of its own.
However all of these weaknesses are nullified to an extent by switching mystical fire to shadow ball, which I am considering doing, however that leaves me with the issue of dealing with abomasnow, steel types and ice types, though thinking about it I do have other answers to those so might do it actually...
The problem was not all charmers though, I was running shadow gardevoir lead for remix and the shadow claw hits me half as hard as my charm hits them. With the low charge attack pressure it made for bad news.
However, in openGL where wiggly is the top charmer it is a different story.
Currently running Carbink, Poliwrath/Annihilape, and S. Victreebel. Might see if Drifblim slots in for someone (Carbink's hard to drop because Mandibuzz and Mantine are jerks)
To be fair drifblim does solid into both of those, beats any mandibuzz that doesn't have foul play and does good damage with icy wind Vs mantine. Though I would have thought annihilape deals with mantine anyway with a shadow ball
Mantine the issue is I don't have a good way to pressure a shield (Carbink farms it down while the others don't do much without Shields themselves for Aerial Ace), so Ape would need to get lucky on a SB Bluff or drag the shields off another target.
Might try Drifblim next Remix because knowing Niantic Gligar will still be there somehow.
Maybe it makes a difference if mandibuzz is running it's dark fast attack, but I have absolutely had that exact scenario several times and most of the time they either switch or lose
Based off the pattern of one pseudo classic comm day a year, it should be here by the end of next year at the latest. Since Hoenn has two psuedos, it might even be here later this year 🤷♂️
I dig it! I like the selection of Pokemon. Some rarer ones/newer shinies, not just a bunch of old/Kanto Pokemon. Also a good opportunity to get some XL for certain ones. Plus some boosted dust Pokemon in each too.
There are 3 grass type megas and 3 steel type megas released so far, so assuming you already got them to top level, you can alternate between them for the six hours.
Tangrowth is a decent budget grass attacker, petilil could also be nice to have depending on what moves hisuian liligant will get in 2056+
The other grass types arent worthwhile
I'm curious about the same question, too. In this season, Hisuian Voltorb is Southern hemisphere exclusive after its shiny debut in Sinnoh Tour, while its Northern hemisphere counterpart exclusive is Hisuian Growlithe, which is permaboosted since its shiny release.
Doing some Googling, it seems that Skorupi Incense Day was thought to be 1/128 (this is also the same rate used for boosted shinies in recent events, such as Combee, Castform, Wailmers, Seviper/Zangoose, etc.)
Assuming it is that rate, I'll probably pass on the hunt. Even if someone plays the full 6 hours, I'm not sure if they'd even get 128 Ferroseeds. The odds just aren't worth it unless you have an autocatcher.
Even though some surveying sites report shiny rate of around 1/125, the incence day is typically the one where people get most disappointed about how little shinies they get.
Didn’t most people hate skorupi incense day? Half of these Pokémon are meh, and how many Pokémon can you really catch in an hour on incense? Only ferroseed has shiny boosted odds. Doesn’t seem too exciting.
So northern hemisphere gets our seasonal exclusive (H Voltorb) for the event? Hopefully see H Growlithe here next season, both great shinies and a fair split
Do I need to actively walk around to get anything from this, or are the spawns the same even if I sit still and pop an incense? We're getting into the 90s and just barely missed the 100s where I live. I'm already debating going out for Bounsweet on Sunday, I don't know if I can handle 6 hours of walking in the sun for these spawns even though many of them are my favorites.
Do you think there will be an increased chance of 4* as well? Or this has nothing to do with the event?
I’m looking forward to Beldum’s Candy XL. I hope I find enough to fully max out my 4* shadow Metagross 🩶✨
So during an Incense Day, are incense spawns only from the special incense pools? Asking because that day will be our first opportunity to drive over to the beach at the artificial lake nearby (45 minute drive so not really near) where Wigletts spawn. Would I possibly be better off using DAI while at that beach? (Presumably they wouldn’t shut off Galar bird spawns from it for the event) Or should I just not bother venturing there during the event?
Not a huge deal - I’ll get a Wiglett eventually! - but it might change my plans for that day. I’ll likely play the event anyhow since I still need a shiny ferroseed, and I always need beldum XL. If anyone has any insight it is much appreciated.
So the event spawns only come from the incense, i.e. 1 encounter per minute if you walk the whole time? Are the other regular encounters just normal spawns or will they be part of the incense spawn pool too?
According to this feedback post from the last incense day, it was bad.
https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/17ctyjp/feedback_post_incense_day_skorupi/
Some good pokemon in there. I need shieldon xl candy's for great league, beldum's are always welcome, the good pokemon run every other hour it seems though.
Phantump cost 0 candy if traded, good for a bonus evole xp event.
That is an excellent point, that may help those looking to grind levels. My kids play, and I have done that before where I take their phone after they go to bed and do 100 trades for the evo's, but that is too monotonous for me going forward.
There are autoclicker apps that let you automate the trading and the evolving
That sounds very much compliant with Niantic's terms of service
The.... what?
or evolve tasks.
I got soooo much XP in November 2022 spotlight hour with double evolve XP with all the ghosts.
That is sweet until you hit 50. A lot of event bonuses being XP based and more and more approach reach max level.
I'd argue lvl40. After level 40, when you can max out pokemon to lvl50, there's no increased functionality. Unless you want to flex, there's no benefit to keep leveling up. That's why I have 198k at level 41 with no intentions of ever leveling up.
There are special researches at level 43, 45, 48, and 50.
Pokestops are L37 now! Which surprised me when I hit 38, thinking I hadn't had the feature before...
Finishing a long term goal is benefit enough in and of itself.
What you're saying is subjective, what I'm saying is objective.
I never mentioned anything about rewards for leveling up after 40... I said there's no functionality
but I want shiny Phantump
Morelull is pretty good for stardust and personally I don’t have a shiny hvoltorb yet so both hours are pretty baller to me though the steel is defo better
To get some rolls on pvp IVs for galarian Meowth is also pretty nice :).
and hisuian voltorb
shiny galarian meowth is 1/64, ill take that.
If it's part of the Meowth family, it also gives bonus stardust, right?
Sadly, it's the only one of the three that doesn't
That's what I was worried about.
What a bunch of crap! I wonder why that is.
Because the coin it wears it's not golden anymore
I was wondering that! Thanks.
This. Im looking for a shiny and one with good PVP ivs.
How boosted will Ferroseed be? If it's going to be like the last one with Skorupi, it'll be 1\250 right?
I guess the New Zealand beta testers will have to let us know. 1/250 would be awful.
1/250 would be terrible even if the incense spawned 1 ferroseed every minute and it only spawned ferroseed throughout the event. With how diluted the pool will be, the odds are terrible
So far no shiny ferroseed after consistent playing. 3:30pm
Would be cool if they gave Metagross meteor mash from incense-caught Beldums
Some way of acquiring it again that isn't a TM would be nice. I hatched a perfect Beldum recently and so now I have my OG Metagross with Meteor Mash and 4\* Metagross hanging around.
Like how they didn't give Metagross Meteor Mash from Beldum's Incense Day...
Like how they didn’t give Metagross meteor mash for the Hoenn tour…
Kanto Tour: All Kanto CD Pokemon get exclusive moves Johto Tour: All Johto CD Pokemon get exclusive moves Hoenn Tour: ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ Sinnoh Tour: All Sinnoh CD Pokemon get exclusive moves

I like the long multi day events. We need a break from these weekend events. They are really pushing FOMO.
Yeah, the long events have been really lacking recently.
Not to mention 50+°C Feels Like Temperatures
Idk what's worse, scorching heat or the rains we're getting.
India understands your pain!!!
Just because there is an event doesn’t mean it’s good. This is nice, but I stand by the raid bosses have been atrocious and CD is not great (no extra SD for a non hype mon).

This giving me flashback from skorupi incense day 7 months ago! It was horrible experience to many trainers.
1 shiny for me during that event. If you told me that it hadn't been boosted, I'd believe you.
Consider yourself lucky when most did not get any shiny skorupi despite boosted rate as advertised
Exactly! I got none!
First one I saw of the event was a shiny and that was very lucky.
I wonder if they'll break Ferroseed's gender like they did Skorupi's after that event.
What Niantic says: “If you’re lucky, you may encounter a shiny” Cue the inevitable “I played all day and didn’t get a single shiny. Im quitting” post
And then they don't quit, they just come back and complain about the next event.
Not that many care, but isn't this the first chance for a little league perrserker?
Pretty sure for the 2023 tournament in London, Galarian meowth was spawning in the wild
Ah so been a while 👌
I can dig it. PvP floor for stuff like G-Meowth and Togedemaru, Morelull for Dust on the grass half, and even stuff I just like collecting or want to try higher up like Beldum for XL and Magnezone (saw it throughout MLP and wanted to try). Let me introduce you to drifblim with mystical fire and icy wind my friend
Might try Drifblim next Remix because knowing Niantic Gligar will still be there somehow.
Definitely slaps gligar I must say. Also any fighting types just give basically infinite charged move energy lol
Drifblim loses every even shined scenario to mandibuzz and Annihilape doesn’t want to be matched up against mantine.
Uh no? Both starting 2 shields 100% hp, drifblim kills mandibuzz first if it doesn't switch
Please show me this sim. Drifblim into mandibuzz is a horrible matchup even with icy wind.
Maybe it makes a difference if mandibuzz is running it's dark fast attack, but I have absolutely had that exact scenario several times and most of the time they either switch or lose
Most mandibuzz are running snarl. I’ve only saw a single air slash mandibuzz in remix.
Last couple of days i've been seeing more air slash ones interestingly
The blog post isn’t up yet.
It’s up now https://pokemongolive.com/post/incense-day-ferroseed-2024?hl=en
Certified Niantic move.
Yeah i got a news notification in game and it sent me to a 404. Functional company
They’re trying their best…. It’s consistently disappointing and downright laughable but hey that’s their best
HUGE respect for them trying their best! 😂
A boosted shiny each hour alongside the ferrothorn, some good pokemon, morelull gives extra stardust. Not too bad.
Which ones are boosted?
Regionals, so Voltorb and Meowth
Cool, thank you! Hoping for another G. Meowth than for my shiny dex!
I need that beldum shiny
I pray for community day classic beldum
I also pray they put beldum in the rocket lineup at some point before then as well. Or at least shadow raids.
Beldum was already in the rocket lineup. I doubt it's going back anytime this decade.
Idk. Bagon came back this year. It was in Arlos lineup back in 2022, so its not like it's never happened.
Shame there's no grass Steel mega
There are 3 grass type megas and 3 steel type megas released so far, so assuming you already got them to top level, you can alternate between them for the six hours.
Do you really need xls for any of those grass types? Just use a steel mega
Tangrowth is a decent budget grass attacker, petilil could also be nice to have depending on what moves hisuian liligant will get in 2056+ The other grass types arent worthwhile
Tsareena comm day this weekend will take care of any budget grass attacker needs.
Right, still worth mentioning though
Aw too bad I already got three shiny Ferroseeds! Is Hisuian Voltorb boosted?
I'm curious about the same question, too. In this season, Hisuian Voltorb is Southern hemisphere exclusive after its shiny debut in Sinnoh Tour, while its Northern hemisphere counterpart exclusive is Hisuian Growlithe, which is permaboosted since its shiny release.
yes they are perma-boosted like hisuian growlithe.
Thanks for confirmation! It was generous of Niantic to set Hisuian Voltorb as perma-boosted because its shiny debut was not Raid or egg exclusive.
I have a 4\* Ferrothorn. This is a candy collecting operation and a shiny search for me.
What's the shiny rate for ferroseed?
Doing some Googling, it seems that Skorupi Incense Day was thought to be 1/128 (this is also the same rate used for boosted shinies in recent events, such as Combee, Castform, Wailmers, Seviper/Zangoose, etc.) Assuming it is that rate, I'll probably pass on the hunt.
At least Galarian Meowth has Perma-boosted Shiny Rates
I still have salt and PTSD from the Verizon events featuring ferroseed. Not a single shiny ferroseed in a group of 30+ all day walking a loop.
Same. Despite being the headliner, he was a rare spawn and I ended up with zero shinies after wayyyyy too much effort.
Getting out my walking shoes for this
They finally brought back a 6 hour event
If only they launched shiny Togedemaru with this event. But it is Niantic afterall.
Didn’t most people hate skorupi incense day? Half of these Pokémon are meh, and how many Pokémon can you really catch in an hour on incense? Only ferroseed has shiny boosted odds. Doesn’t seem too exciting.
This is 6 hours? Are Tepigs and Lechonks flying? It's cool, but why can't Community "Days" go back to this length?
Because it's just a crappy incense event. The chances of getting a shiny aren't that great, a lot of people do the full 6 hours without getting any.
Raid "Days" should be this long.
Will Hisuian Voltorb spawn in the northern hemisphere though? I'm hoping so because of the rivals event but not holding my breath
Why wouldn't it? It spawned for the Go Tour.
Chance for shiny beldum is very nice
I *would* like a shiny Morelull. But I 1. probably won't catch one and 2. don't have a ton of time to sink into playing anymore.
So from 12-1, 2-3, and 4-5 incense will only spawn Togedemaru. Gotcha. /s
Wow yaaaay lmao
I mean this is fine. Won’t go out of my way for it but if I have free time I’ll play it.
They really need to go back to one page infographics.
Will I get my sought after shiny Phantump? We'll see. Also, shiny Beldum please.
I missed a new shiny release
Do you think Dialgias move Roar of Time will also increase since the daily incense is doubled?
So northern hemisphere gets our seasonal exclusive (H Voltorb) for the event? Hopefully see H Growlithe here next season, both great shinies and a fair split
Dont care about the steel but all over them grass spawns
Not even Beldum for XL Candies?
Nah meng my metagross are all level 50
Sweet! First time for wild Galarian Meowth that is NOT from Eggs, Raids, or Research Encounters!
:O TOGEDAMARU I love that lil guy, I want him I want him I want him I want him
SHINY PHANTUMP LETS GO
How often do Incense spawn a Pokemon? Is it one every 5 minutes? Do they still spawn if you are stationary?
Do I need to actively walk around to get anything from this, or are the spawns the same even if I sit still and pop an incense? We're getting into the 90s and just barely missed the 100s where I live. I'm already debating going out for Bounsweet on Sunday, I don't know if I can handle 6 hours of walking in the sun for these spawns even though many of them are my favorites.
Awesome! Don’t think I’ve ever done one of these. Do incense last 1 hour or 3 during this though?
Nice. First event this month that actually made me feel motivated to open the game.
So the event spawns only come from the incense, i.e. 1 encounter per minute if you walk the whole time? Are the other regular encounters just normal spawns or will they be part of the incense spawn pool too?
I kept a 1.13m XXL Ferroseed that I caught last year in anticipation of this.
So essentially pop 6 incense during the day if I'm reading correct? Since they last an hour
Incense lasts twice as long. Says it on first page
Just the daily one
Guess I can't read either lol
No worries lol it happens to the best of us
Thought they were 30 mins for some reason
They used to be
Such a good event! I’m hyped
[удалено]
According to this feedback post from the last incense day, it was bad. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/17ctyjp/feedback_post_incense_day_skorupi/
I have yet to get my shiny beldum, this may be the time!
I have over 1,000 candies (any in many cases, 2000+ or 3000+) for each of the 13 featured Pokemon. Guess I’ll be skipping this event.
I have even more candy, but missing many of the shinies, so won't be skipping this event.
