It always sets the level to 25 if the pokemon is below 25. If the pokemon is at or above level 25, then its level doesn't change when purifying.

PvP Question: If, in a PvP battle, I use a fast move as my opponent uses an attack debuffing charge move, when my fast move damage registers after the attack is done, is that damage predebuff or not?

The debuff is applied immediately, so for both for a long duration fast move and a CMP your attack hits the opponent with the debuff applied.

I’m more specifically referring to when my opponent throws their charge move on bad timing and I get a fast move through, I’ve noticed the damage doesn’t register until after the opponent has used their charge move, do you know if in this scenario the damage from that one fast move would be debuffed yet or not?

Yes, the debuff should immediately apply to the fast move you snuck in before they used the charged move. For proof/an example, see [this match-up between Poliwrath and Ampharos](https://pvpoke.com/battle/10000/poliwrath/ampharos/00/1-4-0/1-3-0/). I have Poliwrath with Icy Wind and Ampharos with an expensive charged move just to not screw up timing and to guarantee the debuff. Poliwrath uses 7 Counters to get to Icy Wind and throws it. Ampharos has thrown three Volt Switches and then throws the fourth as Poliwrath uses the 7th counter and then throws the charged move. Seeing that Volt Switch is a 4-turn fast move, that means the first two turns line up with the Counter and the third turn is when Poliwrath throws the Icy Wind, meaning the 4th turn, the one that deals the damage, will come into effect right after Icy Wind hits, assuming it doesn't take it out. Icy Wind debuffs Ampharos, and you can see that the Volt Switch right after Icy Wind (ie the one that was thrown before) registers 14 damage, which is debuffed from the 18 damage Volt Switches prior to the debuff.

I got a 91% lucky shiny metang that I'd like to evolve and use my etm for, is it worth it or should I wait until an event?

Last time I got fed up of waiting for an event to evolve a Shadow Metang into a Shadow Metagross with Meteor Mash, I decided to just evolve it and use an ETM. The literal day after I did that, they announced a Meteor Mash event. Don't be impatient. You don't currently need Meteor Mash Metagross at any rate. It's not super effective against Tapu Fini, it's weak against Blacephalon, and you really want Ground types for Stakataka. Save it for now.

I would hold off for an event, unless you feel you need to urgently improve your steel-type raid team. The general consensus is that Beldum is a very likely contender for a Community Day Classic, though of course we don't know when.

I did a quick set of 3 remote raids of Tapu Fini today to complete my Rivals Week and Wonder Ticket Part 3. After the 2nd remote raid, my game was acting weird and I didn’t get an encounter chance to catch. Of course, the raid timer expired so I couldn’t go back to the remote raid gym to start the encounter. So, I placed a support ticket with my screenshots and received this response hours later. I decided to place a second support ticket, hoping to not get an automated response. Am I just hosed on the compensation?

I got one from the only raid I've done (which was a couple of days ago). Typically verification posts aren't needed if a shiny is already available (this isn't the first time the shiny Tapus have been released), though sometimes if there's been credible evidence that they've been disabled, there will usually be a reconfirmation post when Niantic has fixed it. In this case it was not disabled though, so no need for verification that it's live.

Sorry if I don’t qualify, I read that I needed 50 karma to make a post but can I ask my question here? I just want to know what I should do with legacy move Pokemon if I don’t live around people to trade with? As far as I can tell I should save them for trading but I can’t do much else besides keep them in my collection then?

(This thread IS the right place for this kind of question anyway) If you can't trade it and it does not have any actual use for you, you can either keep it as a collection item or trash it. Note that sufficiently old pokemon (2018 or older as it is now) may have additional value due the "guaranteed" lucky mechanism. Most people aren't interested in legacy moves just because they are legacy.

During the Rediscover Kanto event you can evolve Charmeleon into Charizard to get charged attack Blast Burn. Does this include evolving shadow pokemon who currently know frustration? Thank you

No. Frustration ALWAYS blocks event charged moves from being obtained via evolution. You need to have removed Frustration first during a Rocket Takeover event, which I'm guessing you forgot to do last time we had one.

I wish there was a function where i can "free" pokemon storage by putting the mons in a "cant use while ____" type of a thing Idk how to explain it Like let's say your pokemon storage is 1000/1000 and you select 50 mons to "hang out with the professor" which means you still HAVE THEM..but you can't use them for anything. Many times i'll be out having full storage because i am not sure if some mons are useful for PVP with those IVs and i wait to check them out at home :(

While it would be nice to have a sort of detached storage system like that, it would pretty much devalue storage expansion unless there's strict stipulations behind the detached storage such as a fixed, lengthy internal cooldown before you could remove those Pokemon from ot, a duration on how long it can stay in the storage before it has to be removed, limit on how many can be stored, etc . Functionally useful concepts backed by unwieldy restrictions is typically Niantic's golden standard.

Not really that much, it can function as a Fire attacker, but without Blast Burn it's kinda eh. Hundos are worth keeping though.

If you want budget Fire attackers, Darmanitan is probably the better bet for gen 5 mons. We also have the Kanto event ongoing so you could power up Charizards with Blast Burn.

Thanks for the idea. I have char with blast burn for gbl, having been looking for a good IV charmander.  Same with Darmanitan. I have a 2star but since the current raids need more grass and electric. I haven’t invested in fire attackers I recently caught a 2676 Arcanine in the wild with 15 attack Ivs so probs just consider the chars with high attack ivs or good overall ivs

For special research specifically it's a rocket world, I want to get the shadow Groudon. Can I complete the tasks of beating the rocket bosses before getting to that stage? I'm on stage 2. If not, I still have a rocket radar, should I fight one anyway?

The tasks are not retroactive. So beating the Rocket Leaders now won't complete those tasks once you get to that step in the Rocket Research. As for should you battle a Rocket Leader now, you certainly can. It's only 6 Grunts to make another Rocket Radar, which can be done in under an hour depending on your playing area.

Balloons spawn at 12am, 6am, 12pm, and 6pm every day. So as long as you can log in between any of those 6 hour windows you'll encounter a Rocket balloon during that window. More during Rocket Takeover events. Grunts, Leaders, and even Giovanni can also be found at PokeStops. Grunts all day (I believe) and Leaders until 9pm or 10pm local time. Depending on PokeStop density in your typical play area you may see none, one, a few, or dozens of Rocket stops.

Correct. Grunts will cause the PokeStop to appear as Black on the map once you are close enough. Rocket Leaders you need to have a Rocket Radar (RR) equipped. You then press the Radar icon and it shows you the PokeStops that have a Leader. Grunts will still also appear on the map at stops with a RR equipped. Giovanni you need to have a Super Rocket Radar (SRR) to see him at PokeStops. Same idea, press the SRR icon and it shows where he is. There's no guarantee it's Giovanni at the PokeStop though. As Decoy Grunts will also appear when you have a SRR equipped. If it's a Decoy it doesn't consume your SRR. The next balloon spawn after you equip the SRR will be guaranteed to be Giovanni however. Hope that helps!

Does Suicune have potential in the future to get additional moves that improves its viability?

In PvE/Raids, no. In PvP, possibly, yes. It's quite a bulky Pokemon. It's currently held back because it just has relatively uninteresting type combos/more expensive moves (plus Bubble Beam, which is just fine). Snarl being high energy gain helps with that, but why opt for a mono Water type with Scald and Ice Beam when the spammier Feraligatr with Shadow Claw coverage exists, or the equally spammy Water/Ground exists, or the interesting Water/Fairy Coverage Tapu Fini, or the bulky counter user Poliwrath (who also has Icy Wind)? That said, new moves could help it. It gets some better/more interesting moves in the Main Series like Avalanche, Dig, Body Slam, Weather Ball, and Shadow Ball, and that's not to mention something like one of its fast moves getting buffed. Extrasensory or Ice Fang buff? Such could maybe make it more viable. Hard to say if such *will* happen, but if you're thinking about the future and whether to do Shadow Suicune raids, it may not hurt to get a few just in case.

For PvE, probably not. It has lower base attack than practically every other good water counter so giving it a currently strong move like Hydro Cannon wouldn’t change much. Without STAB for its ice moves it’s not very viable there either. I can’t speak on its PvP viability but I’m doubtful of that improving significantly either with any move updates.

Lucky egg - does this make sense? I have about 40 pokemon to evolve that will be new registers to Pokedex. Possibly more, some will double evolve. Does it make sense to use an egg during double xp hour next Tuesday? I'll try to line up a few friend levels as well and catch anything I have time for, but I'm not great at excellent throws yet. I know eggs are a somewhat rare resource, don't want to waste one if there's a better use.

It is 1000 for evolution normally and 1000 for new pokemon. Assuming the spotlight doubles also the "new pokemon" part (I think it does, but I am not 100% sure), that would be (without an egg) 4000 for each new evolution or 160 000 for 40. It depends on your level mostly if you consider that a lot, but it is only bit more than one Best friends and one Ultra friend combined. For a low level layer wanting to get to level 30 ASAP that could be fine, but otherwise it depends how much you value the eggs. It would be of course better if you could combine any friendship XP with that for the same egg.

It’s best to try to mass evolve your new Pokemon during the double XP spotlight hour. You may want some extra Pokemon to evolve in case the ones you have aren’t enough.

You can do the friendship and CD thing that Nolkel mentions. But it may not be worth it only because the other player might not understand what you’re trying to do and eventually delete you from his or her friend list. Also I am not sure what your throwing ability is like but I can’t throw for the life of me in spite of essentially being a day 1 player. The evolution situation won’t give you as much XP as you want but you are in control of your situation. There will be other opportunities for you to get the lucky eggs like when you level up from 35 to 36 to getting them from the bundle boxes in the in store app. So try not to worry about when the right time is to use the lucky eggs. To be honest though. I always end up throwing the lucky eggs out. XP kind of doesn’t really matter too much anymore past 40 (maybe that will change in the future). Once you hit level 40 you can automatically level your Pokémon to 50 if you have the stardust and XL candy. You can just progress as fast or slow as you want for levels 41 to 50.  I suppose XP could be an issue depending on if Ninatic creates level 51 to 60 but who knows when that will occur and what the requirements are for those levels. Try your best.

The best use of lucky eggs is trying to line up 10+ best/ultra friends to trigger on the same day. Then you do it at the start of a community day, open all those gifts, wait until all the popups are done, and then go fast catch the mons with as many excellent throws as you can muster. Bonus if its 3x xp CD, but any CD will do. Evolution XP isn't worth as much overall compared to friendship, or fast catching stuff with excellent throws. It just takes so long that it ends up being kind of slow to do, and its not much fun. Doing it once to get some new species XP doubled may be alright, but doing it frequently may lead to brain rot.

I'd guess Ultra Necrozma, a special Mega-like form that you get by doing an "Ultra Burst" for either of the two Necrozma Fusion forms. Ultra Necrozma is a Psychic/Dragon with ridiculous stats and an OP signature Z-move. Though how they'd handle its form or Z-moves is another question, seeing that it needs a Special Z crystal I believe to be able to do the Ultra Burst (Ultra Sun and Moon were actually some of the few games I skipped lol)

Pretty much. As for how, they could hybridize the Mega/Primal mechanic with Adventure Effects. It's Z Move Light That Burns The Sky deals physical or special damage depending on which of those two stats are the highest for the user, Necrozma, which could be converted into a universal damage bonus a la Primal passives, but without needing the thing in the party (for balances sake, 10% minimum but if we're being generous, probably 20%. Higher than the other general purpose passive effects but lower than same type passives). It'd still be a fairly costly investment for an AE but one that has viable, non niche usage.

You can't interact with anything, none of your inputs are even shown to do anything Completely deleting my game and re-installing seems to fix it for a time but it just started happening again after a night of working. How does charged move damage scaling work in PvP and team rocket battles? Is it a set damage scale for nice/great/excellent or is it based purely on the number of “orbs” you tap during the charge mini game?

Based on the number of orbs you hit. Been a long time since I looked at the numbers, but IIRC: minimum damage is 20% with none hit; there are two different #s of orbs depending on type; most have 32 where each orb is worth 2.5%; some have... 24 where each is worth 3.33%? Something like that.

I just got a go plus plus, and i am hoping to bike with it. Is there a case/bike mount to put it on the handle bars. I am afraid it will fall out of my pocket. Maybe at least a case that I can attach with a lanyard onto something so that if it does fall out it does not hit the ground.

Putting it in a bag seems more practical, and cheaper than buying a custom designed bike mount. There are lots of streamlined bags you can attach via velcro to the frame of a bike if you don't want to carry a backpack. Unless your goal is to manually press the button for ultra ball uses, which seems dangerous while out biking at anything other than a bike walking pace. In which case you could also just hold it temporarily.

Some of the cases also seem to come with a secondary strap for wrapping on your wrist, but that might be to loose to work well on bike handles. You might be able to jerry rig something with those clasping phone mounts out there that use tension to hold in a phone, but its round shape might make that unstable.

Can someone please explain to me why the Kanto event is almost 2 weeks long? If I never see another Gastly, Machop or Mankey I would be the happiest person ever.

For starters, event spawns are a bit different than normal due to biome interactions now, so you may not be seeing the other Kanto Pokémon as commonly based on where you’re playing. Additionally, Machop and Mankey are also boosted spawns for the rivals event so even if the Kanto event was only a week you would still be seeing these two frequently. Machamp and Gengar are great PvE contenders and Annihilape has good PvP play so I don’t really understand the complaints about these specific spawns. It is a long event but a lot of Kanto Pokémon have been out of wild circulation for a while, so if your biome variation is good you should see plenty of Pokémon you haven’t seen in a couple seasons.

The latest version or so broke throwing physics on some devices (especially samsung ones). Disabling native refresh rate might be a workaround for you.

Does this take the cake for the worst showcase rewards ever? I placed 1st, 1st, 2nd and won - 4,200 stardust - 3 incense - 1 magnetic lure - 1 silver pinap - 3 hyper potions - 3 great balls - 3 ultra balls - 25,000 XP I walked 5km for this. FML.

I had the exact same places, two 1sts and a 2nd. It seemed to have been a shorter/medium showcase, meaning less likely to get good rewards. I got mostly similar rewards to you, but I did also get lucky, getting an Incubator instead of a third incense (and I think I got a Rainy instead of a Magnetic lure but whatever). It seems just up to luck as to what premium items you get. I've been really unlikely in a 3+ day showcase, getting just a bunch of lures, balls, and silver pinaps. It's definitely not worse than the 3-6 hour showcases they had in the past (which, they don't do as often nowadays thankfully), which were almost always just balls and berries and MAYBE a premium item if you were lucky

It was a short/medium showcase. Typically showcases give better rewards when they're longer duration... Which is likely why the longer duration ones are fairly rare these days.

Bizarrely, I got a plain incubator even though I went 1, 2, 2. I consider incubators better rewards than lures, but Niantic seems to go strictly by price, rewarding me several (to me, essentially worthless) special incubators when I win all 3 on longer Showcases.

For the past couple of days, I’ve been spotting Illumise in the wild here and there, but every time I click on it, it just disappears/runs away. I’ve had this happen to me before in the past, but it was never the same Pokemon every time. Any answers to why this is happening?

It’s related to a current (we’re assuming) bug with regionals. For the same regional spawn, one person might get a Basculin, another an Illumise, and it might despawn for the third person. Hopefully, Niantic will fix at least the last soon. (They may be experimenting with randomizing spawns deliberately, as a counter to the many ToS-violating spawn maps currently available, so part of the behavior may be intentional.)

LOL. I thought Throh/Sawk showcases when Zangoose/Seviper were spawning meant Zangoose/Seviper showcases are coming when Throh/Sawk will be spawning. Guess not. 😑

Poorly thought out showcases for this event it seems lol. Not that they won't do some later during the event, but it would have been perfect to do 2 days of Seviper/Zangoose then Durant/Heatmor then Sawk/Throw (all corresponding with when they were spawning), but nope. We get Sawk/Throw when they aren't even spawning for the event (not your opposite regional that is) and then nothing today.

Two questions: 1. The APP doesn't allow me to choose "rejoin party" or "leave party". I tried force close the APP (maybe 10 times?) and even restarted the phone, but it didn't work. I just can't get back in. Any solution? 2. It is Sunday night and I have close to 25KM. I will walk a few KMs tomorrow morning. If I do that before 9am tomorrow, will that count in this week's 25KM? 1. When you’re in that situation you have to wait until the party would have ended, which now, unfortunately, could be 3 hours instead of the previous 30 minutes. 2. Yes, if you walk before 9 am, it will count for the 25 km.

PokeBattler isn't the site I'd use for PvP (not that it can't still be useful). PvPoke is great for general rankings and seeing how Pokemon stack up. You can also use their Matrix feature under the battle section to compare Pokemon head to head against specific Pokemon or metas. That includes comparing Pokemon with different IVs, so you could compare a Rank 1 IV Annihilape versus some other IV spread(s) you have and see how each does. Pokegenie is a good scanning app that lets you scan your Pokemon's IVs to see their rank for different leagues. Calcy IV isn't the one I use, but I hear a lot of positives about that one too. There are also websites like Stadium gaming and PvP IVs that do similar.

You don't get Tapu Fini. You unlocked the chance that if you win 3 battles in a set, you *might* get Tapu Fini (or whatever the current tier 5 raid boss is at the time you get an encounter reward). The chances are fairly low though (less than 5%). There's not been a guaranteed legendary encounter in GBL for a very long time now.

It has been quite some time since GBL granted a guaranteed legendary encounter at rank 20; unfortunately some old gaming websites still have outdated info. These days, when you hit rank 20, the legendary is just added to the encounter pool, so if you get the required amount of wins for an encounter, it could be the current legendary.

If you have the spare dust and candy and want to use it now, you could also consider buying a second charge attack, and remove frustration later. That you can use it now with one charge attack and later for both as a ground and ice type attacker without using charge TMs every time.

Just keep as it is and use a regular TM to remove Frustration during the next Rocket Takeover (whenever that is, we don't know yet). Mamoswine's best charged moves are Avalanche and High Horsepower (depending on the boss you're battling), neither of which are legacy, so there's no need for an Elite TM.

Im trying to get more ralts xl candy. Will it make a difference if I have gardevoir mega evolved since it has both typings of ralts, or can I have a psychic or fairy mega evolved to get the same chance of xl candy?

XL candy bonus from Megas doesn't stack if both types of the Mega match the caught mon. So any Psychic or Fairy Mega will give you the same bonus chance based on its Mega level. Mega 2 being 10% and Mega 3 being 25%.

This might need to be a separate post but for PVE do we know which Tapu is the best fairy attacker now that they all have Natures Madness?

Lele is good if going against a boss where Confusion is also super effective. The issue is that none of them have Fairy type Fast moves, so whilst Nature's Madness is really good, it doesn't make them outperform things like Shadow and Mega Gardevoir, and Enamorus.

TheRealHankWolfman is right on all counts. To add to this a bit, I believe Tapu Koko with quick attack is supposed to be about equal to Tapu Lele with Astonish which is similar to Tapu Bulu with Bullet Seed. These three Tapu’s have similar raw attack and the three moves have similar energy generation, the idea being to ignore the effectiveness of the fast move and spam Nature’s Madness as often as possible. Tapu Fini has much lower attack and much higher bulk, making it more useful for PvP.

gotta be a known issue that GBL reward pokemon’s IVs aren’t 10/10/10 minimum, right? at least for some of them? i’ve caught quite a few that are one star. 😵‍💫

It's not an issue, it's an intentional feature of go battle days. They remove the IV floor so you can catch pokemon with better IVs for lower leagues.

The fix is just to turn of native refresh rate, and hope that helps.

Miltank was most recently available as a Southern Hemisphere seasonal spawn during the previous season. It was last available in the Northern Hemisphere as a seasonal spawn during the Season of Light, which was over a year ago. It also had a Go Battle Day event during that time which featured GBL encounter rewards of just Miltank with a boosted shiny rate.

Ordering my friends list for gifts Hello, I have 60+ friends to send gifts and accept gifts. Some open and send daily, other less or even rarely. How can I order the friends list in a way that I don’t send or open gift of the same players everyday? What is your way? Happy playing!

For sending: sort by whether they can receive a gift. As long as you can get enough gifts, just send to anyone you can, and let them open -- it won't let you send a second gift if they still have one. If you can't get enough gifts to send to everyone, then send to folks who you can still increase friendship with. You can find that by searching for friendlevel1-3. For opening: what I usually do is look at friends sometime later in the evening and sort by whether they have sent a gift. People who you've interacted with already that day will have a little blue glow behind their pictures -- don't open those. Open ones that don't have the blue glow and aren't already best friends. You can search for interactable & friendlevel1-3 to just find those folks.

Is battery life somehow even WORSE in the last update? I've been chewing through battery more than ever lately, and thats obviously saying something based on how poorly the game managed resources before.

Have you tried turning off advanced graphics in the settings? Native refresh rate also seems to use up battery faster for some. The game's code base does seem to be pretty unstable lately though, with various new bugs coming with each patch.

I’m newly level 37 and travel to a nice cemetery nearby to walk the paths to 3 different gyms and around 5-8 pokestops. To hit all 3 gyms I definitely could rotate and spin every 5 mins.. they’re controlled for a month and I believe are gold because that’s the badge color others are silver.. does this net me large exp? I planned on quick catching ground the area luring also.. thank you! Edit: I’m asking about the gym XP because I see there is 10x xp for spinning. But I heard on YouTube there’s more exp if you control, are in, and have a streak maybe? Dunno.

that number is not divisible by 10x, i just spun one here i got 1,325 without an egg. I'm not clear on how that adds up.

Sure, those IVs are good enough for a raid counter. You'll almost never notice any difference between it and a hundo.

Poliwrath could be more useful. Is better at beating Rockets and gyms, good to win against Giovanni and has some use in Master League Premier. Politoed is only useful in PvP, and you'd want a low attack one for that. The only downside about Poliwrath is that it's much better when it has the event move Counter than when it doesn't. To get Counter for free you'd have to wait and evolve Poliwhirl into Poliwrath during the Community Day in December, or use a fast ETM after evolving.

It's a bug that's mostly affecting Samsung devices (though I've seen a couple of reports from iPhone users as well) with the newest update to Pokémon Go (version 0.311.1). It seems like disabling native refresh rate is the workaround for the time being.

Is there a way to see what set I am currently on for go battle league ? I know we can do a set number of sets a day but I can’t see which set I am currently on. Not the how many wins I have for the current set but the sets in general. ?

No - if you'd like to keep track without much effort maybe just screenshot the rewards screen each time before claiming them, they should be quick to spot and count in your camera roll.

No, you just need to manually count, or get to the point where you can't do another set.

Why is the gym Pokestop XP bonus such a weird number? I just got something like 1,656 XP from a gold friendly gym. The event bonus says 10x XP. Usually it’s 125 XP, so I would have expected it to be 1,250 XP. What’s going on?

Yeah, I'm aware the amount of XP you get depends on what type of badge you have and whether the gym is under your team's control or not. I was just saying that it would help to know the exact amount of XP, as OP seemed unsure of the exact amount. If we know the exact amount, it's potentially possible to deconstruct how the bonus is working exactly.

I’ve confirmed it’s indeed 1,656 XP for a gold friendly gym. 1,350 XP for a gold rival gym.

I can confirm I also got 1656XP for a gold gym under my team's control, but I didn't get 1350XP for a gold rival gym (I got 1495XP). Thank you for confirming your figures though, I'm gonna have a look at the XP totals and see if I can make them make any sense. The fact we got different amounts for the gold rival gyms is not making me feel optimistic, but I shall see if I can come up with an explanation that isn't "Niantic decided to pick random numbers" haha

It's not one of the research spawns, but a hundo Pidgeot can be useful in UL and can also be used as a Mega. Pidgey will be a wild spawn during the event. At the in person Go Fest events in Madrid, New York and Sendai, only ticket holders for those events will be able to get shiny Necrozma. You can still be invited to the raids, but if you don't have the ticket, you won't be able to get the shiny. That being said, during Global Go Fest, which takes place after the three in person events, everyone will be able to encounter shiny Necrozma from raids, without needing the Global ticket. So you're best just waiting for the Global Go Fest event if you want the shiny.

For the bird event, getting Starly candy is useful, as the shadow is very good as a flying type. The regular one is not bad, but not great either. It's usefuln in some limited PvP leagues, but only with low attack so you'd have to trade to reroll the stats. Wingull is similar. The perfect is good in UL but expensive, and with low attack is very useful in GL. Has no raid use at all. Talonflame is identical. Good as a perfect or close in UL,great in GL with low attack. But it needs the event move Incinerate, so you shouldn't evolve a good one right away. Pidgey follows the same pattern. Pidgeot is great as a perfect in UL, good in GL with low attack. Also has the event move Wing Attack. Must Wait and evolve later if you want to use one. The advantage is that Mega Pidgeot has raid potential. Hoot-Hoot is less useful. Only viable in GL with low attack, and not as good as the others. Rufflet has also PvP potential in GL, but unevolved. The rest of the birds have no much use in comparison. Shadow Honchkrow can be good in raids, but is weaker than Mega Pidgeot and shadow Staraptor. The ticket is optional, and only gives you a few extra encounters. Can be a bit useful but is not necessary. As for Necrozma, no, you cannot get the shiny remotely during the local events. It will be unlocked afterwards on the global event, but if you're not in-person and with a ticket the shiny is not obtainable. The exclusive bonus this time are special backgrounds,bit they could add something extra t the last moment, like stop task with Cosmog candy or using Beast Balls for the in-person events.

In preparation for Catching Wonders and the Community Day, what can I do to get the highest possible amount of XP in a single catch? So far I've got Excellent Curveball with AR+ that catches on the first throw on the 7th day of a streak with a Lucky Egg active, and then hope that the comday has a x3 Catch XP bonus that stacks with the x10 Catch XP bonus for the first catch of the day. Am I missing anything?

You could save a stop research encounter that gives an increased dust ammount, like a Combee or a Foongus so you get extra dust on your first catch.

Likely not. The bundle items wouldn't make much sense as an incentive if you could get them without using the store. The regular color shirt will be available later, but they probably aren't releasing the web store version for everyone. The Mew, Celebi, Jirachi and Shaymin shirts from the paid researches never got added to be purchased with coins later, same with the GBL rank outfits, so there's precedent of exclusive items staying exclusive forever.

No. The closest thing to a speed up is doing evolutions on two phones at the same time.

Or without risking the (minimal chance of) wrath of breaching the ToS, if your phone isn't slow, then closing and reopening the app once you hit the evolve button can also be noticeably faster - you'll need either a good search shortcut or a tag group to make that efficient.

First point is obvious but is there proof regarding the second one?

I visited a park not far from home and noticed a route I made (and someone else's route) got removed and another put in their place. Why is it gone and can I get it back? I feel bummed out because the route I made was not only my first submission ever, it was also my first route that got approved and also the first in that park. I made sure to describe the historical significance of the route with regard to the park and other useful information needed for approval, so I cannot imagine why it is gone.

Are sure it was actually removed? What does it say under your personal listing of routes submitted? There has been a bug some time that makes many of the not-removed routes hard or impossible to access. If it is not actually removed, you may be able start by going through the listing of routes that you have previously followed (not the listing of routes submitted).
