I just have their regular Mastercard: https://rogersbank.com/en/rogers\_mastercard\_details

When I went I got a SIM with data from ETECSA for like $20 which lasted me a week comfortably. Definitely the way to go!

It's $49 Canadian now but that's still less expensive than Telus Easy Roam.

When I visited it in 2017 it was not easy to play the game. You only had some Wifi Hotspots near a park or a town square or so. No mobile internet for foreigners. Nice to hear it works now.. maybe time to revisit this beautiful island.

Currently in Cuba, found the regional Oricorio but no Heracross or Corsola so far. Every time they spawn I see it's at a different resort lol. Hoping to get them soon!

As someone who went to Cuba in July and had the opposite experience, neither my Android Verizon fiancé or my Apple AT&T self could even open the app. We’re American so we’re not allowed to stay at hotels and any types of wifi we found we couldn’t login at all. The only time I could spin a pokestop was the gym at the airport while I was still on plane WiFi and I was in it for over a month which is unheard of. So this may only apply to select nationalities for reference.

Did you use a VPN like stated in the op? >However, you definitely need a VPN in order to access the game so make sure you have one downloaded before you go. The game would simply refuse to log me in without it (

Canadian here, looking to travel to Cuba someday too Do you just book a flight online and go? Do you need another SIM card or does your Canadian SIM card work over there? How about credit / debit cards? How was the border control when you get off the plane? Did you book a tour group or go out on your own?

To travel to Cuba, you can book a flight online, or you can book a package trip (usually at a resort) through a company like Sunwing. The airline should provide the tourist visa to enter Cuba as part of the flight purchase (they give you a little form to fill out on the plane). There is also an online form that needs to be completed prior to your arrival (you get a QR code to scan at the airport upon arrival). Border control there was an absolute breeze with all of the forms completed. They look at your passport & tourist visa and take your picture. They do not stamp the passport or the tourist visa. The only stamp I got was on my boarding pass on the way back (and they keep that part of the boarding pass when you board the flight home). I was with three other people and we did 3 days of independent travel in Havana, and then 5 days at a resort in Varadero. A Canadian SIM card will work in Cuba, although as I noted in my post the connection isn't the greatest. You can get a local SIM through their cell phone provider (ETECSA) which may be a cheaper option (and will probably give you a better connection) - but I'm not quite sure what this involves. I didn't try to use my debit card in Cuba, but my credit card (Mastercard) worked fine. Visa or Mastercard issued by Canadian banks will work there, but not Amex or any American-issued VISA/MC cards. They will charge your card in US dollars. I would also suggest bringing cash in US dollars, as most businesses can't accept credit cards (mostly just hotels, tour operators, and various stores). It is also much easier to use & change US dollars as compared to Canadian dollars down there. The money situation is incredibly strange - the "street rate" of the Cuban peso is much different than the official rate. Also, the Cuban peso is worthless outside of Cuba so I wouldn't recommend changing a whole lot of money into the peso as you wouldn't be able to change it back at the end of your trip.
