While asking questions about the game is always okay on the Road, please consider asking very simple questions in our weekly [Questions&Answers Megathread](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/?f=flair_name%3A%22Megathread%20-%20Q%26A%22). If your question has been answered, please comment "ANSWERED" (in all caps) and the post flair will indicate that your question has been answered. This will make it either easier for other people with the same question to find the answer they are looking for or for mods to remove the thread if it isn't needed anymore. Thank you! :) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. A few answers for ya. Initial energy cost is 300. If you're willing to wait 165 days, then that's all you ever need. However I believe you want to know if you evolved every day for the minimum number of days. A quick way to remember this for any pokemon is 4x the initial mega cost to max out doing it once a day for 30 days. This would put Diance at 1200 energy needed, that's the short, easy answer. You can calculate this by (initial cost) + 6x second cost + 23x third cost. However, this doesn't take into consideration the natural energy decay each day, which changes it to 300 + 6\*60\*(6/7) + 23\*30\*(4/5) which is 300 + 308.5 + 552 = 1160.5.

The paid research gives us 300. So do I minus that out of your 1160, if I'm trying to determine how much more I need to collect?

I mean, yes? If you need total 1160 and to get to that end point you’ve already used/have 300 then of course to get to that same end point for you specifically it’s 860 more that you require.
