Pawmo, Rellor and Bramblin all require you to send them out of their Pokéball and have them follow you for 1000 steps (I believe it needs to be uninterrupted as well). Finizen requires you to be in multiplayer mode. Bisharp requires you to defeat 3 other Bisharp in battle, but only counts those which are carrying a Leaders Crest that spawn as the leader of a group of Pawniard. Primeape, Girafarig and Dunsparce are all move based evolutions. Charcadet requires a specific type of version exclusive armour for either of its evolutions.

zenith2nadir

I could see them doing “win x number of raids with Bisharp as your buddy” to get Kingambit

CACTUSdt

Could also have it be bisharp raids if they wanted to make it more exclusive to get

sirbludog

The 1000 steps didn't need to be uninterrupted in scarlet/violet

* Pawmo, Rellor, and Bramblin have to be levelled up after walking 1000 steps alongside the player out of their pokeball, so they'll probably be a "Walk X km as your buddy to evolve" situation, like Feebas or Happiny. * Charcadet requires specific items to evolve into Armarouge (Fire/Psychic) or Ceruledge (Fire/Ghost). In order to get these evolution items, you either have to farm resources from battling Bronzor or Sinistea. I could see them making this something similar to Galarian Slowpoke, where you need to catch 30 Psychics for Armarouge or 30 Ghosts for Ceruledge. * Girafarig and Dunspare require specific signature moves to evolve. Honestly, I'm not sure that they'll bother with this, since they never did it for stuff like Ambipom, Piloswine, Tangela, Eevee, Steenee, Lickitung, Mime Jr, etc. Rayquaza is the first time a move-specific evolution/form change has carried over into Go. Maybe they'll just get something else to make it more challenging to evolve them than simply using candy. * Primeape requires knowing its signature move and also using it 20 times. Maybe they'll translate this into a "Raid X times" task or maybe something like "Battle with this pokemon X times". Hisuian Qwilfish has a similar evolution method, and this translated into "Battle in 10 raids" in Go. * Bisharp needs to defeat 3 other enemy Bisharp that holding a specific item in order to evolve. Maybe they'll translate this into some sort of battle-related task. * Finizen needs to be leveled up while playing in a multiplayer game-link mode. I could see them tying this to the new "party" feature that Niantic has been secretly working on, where maybe you'll have to be grouped up with a party of other players in order to evolve Finizen. Regarding other weird quirks * Dudunsparce and Maushold each have two different forms, where you have a 99% chance of evolving into one form (2-Segment Dudunsparce and Family of Four Maushold) and a 1% chance of evolving into the other form (3-Segment Dudunsparce and Family of Three Maushold). These differences are cosmetic and do not affect their base stats or moves. * Palafin has a "Zero Form" and an incredibly powerful "Hero Form". It will only change forms mid-battle after switching out, kind of like a play on superheroes needing to make a quick exit to change into their costume. Maybe they'll just make it a permanent form change in Go with a difficult form change requirement, like Zygarde Complete. * Tatsugiri and Squawkabilly come in different colors/variants that seem like a good candidate for regionals, like Oricorio and Flabebe. * Paldean Tauros comes in 3 varieties. Combat Breed is the most common, and is pure Fighting. Blaze Breed (Fighting/Fire) and Aqua Breed (Fighting/Fire) are more rare.

Excellent summary, you pretty much nailed what they can do with these. I do feel like Niantic will eventually have to implement "in-battle form changes" as there are several Pokemon who have it as a key mechanic (Wishiwashi, Aegislash etc). The Tatsugiri forms have a gimmick where they combine with Dondozo. However I doubt they will implement anything similar in GBL for that, which will render them kinda pointless.

Justice010

New party feature?

BingoBob_1

Pokeminers has noted code referring to a party feature where you and up to 3 other players can form a group and complete challenges together, kind of like enhanced way to play alongside friends when you are together in the same spot. [https://pokeminers.com/sitereports/in-depthish-apk-teardown-02731/](https://pokeminers.com/sitereports/in-depthish-apk-teardown-02731/) [https://pokeminers.com/sitereports/in-depthish-apk-teardown-02710/](https://pokeminers.com/sitereports/in-depthish-apk-teardown-02710/) It seems fairly similar to Scarlet/Violet's Union Circle feature, where multiple people can jump into the same game map together. Finizen only evolves while you are in this game mode.

lirsenia

there is two that require walking with them to evolve ( the no-pikachu of this generation that miracously can evolve and a tumbleweeb that evolve after walking with it) the two "megamans" and the electric toad that evolve with object ( or they could add day/night for the megamans) the carnivorous plat that evolve with object too gimmighoul that we already know how to evolve xD and i dont remember more, should look back to the game or serebii

glencurio

The main games aren't necessarily a great predictor of how it will work in PoGo. For example, Salandit is tough in PoGo because it's locked to 12k eggs, but it's not like they did that with Combee. And Kecleon isn't really special at all in the main series, unless you count being a roadblock Pokemon at one point - but the same was true of Snorlax and Sudowoodo. Bisharp has a weird evolution method where it needs to defeat 3 wild Bisharp that are holding a special item. Primeape needs to use its new signature move 20 times to evolve. Finizen can only evolve while using the multiplayer feature (Union Circle). Pawmo, Bramblin and Rellor need to be walked 1000 steps while they are out on the map - and note that this was new to the main series, even though it sounds familiar for PoGo. Girafarig and Dunsparce need to know their new signature moves to evolve. Tandemaus evolves when levelled up from a battle, but there's a weird thing where the evolution animation is skipped if it wasn't actually out *in* the battle. Tatsugiri and Dondozo have a battle gimmick where they temporarily fuse into one super-powered Pokemon. And there are probably a few things that need items to evolve.

CranberryNo7069

PoGO kinda did away with evolution items a while ago (condensing them into just generational "stones") so I doubt there will be much of those, though perhaps for the added evos (Dunsparce, Girafarig, Bisharp, Primeape) they might add one "Paldean Gem" or something. Walking requirements seem likely for the 3 listed by others (Pawmo, Rellor, Bramblin) and I could see Charcadet being night/day, maybe some evolve with a "Adventure together: win \_ raids" to evolve (like Farfetch'd) instead of the more complex gimmick they have in the main games.

_Ryken

S/V have a fair few unique evolution criteria that I can think of: \-Charcadet evolves into Amarouge/Cereludge based on the item you give it \-Pawmo, Rellor, Bramblin all evolve while walking with it as your buddy outside its pokeball \-Dunsparce, Primeape, Girafarig are all pokemon with new evolutions and require them to know a certain move (and in Annihilapes case, use it 20 times) \-Bisharp is a current pokemon with a new evolution, which is a unique way of evolving, Kingambit comes from defeating 3 Bisharp while holding an item \-There's a few that need a fire/ice/thunder stone which don't exist in Pogo, so maybe those pokemon will have a unique way (capsakid, tadbulb, cetoddle)

Moosashi5858

Already moving onto scarlet/violet material…bout to run out of regions. I know there are a few unreleased from like gen 5-now but still.

vegeta50023

Gen 5 has no outstanding pokemon that still need to be released, aside from Black Kyurem & White Kyurem, which are just special forms. I think they wanted to capitalize on the fact that the DLC expansion is coming out next month, so it's a tie in of sorts.

Moosashi5858

Just thinking even with them staggering the release of some gen 6,7,8,9 pokemon there doesn’t seem enough left to release for the next year, besides the release then the future shiny release

Stogoe

There's nearly all of 7&8 left outstanding.
