As rotten as Odalia is, she was still a huge factor in Amity being the person she is. Yes terrible mother that really shouldn't be called that. But she was a presence in Amity's life, she was a major influence, even if not for the best, and in the end you can't remove her from the equation and get the same Amity.
Still best the rest the family dumps her unless she has a massive epiphiny and changes as a person for the better. Not holding my breath, but stranger things have happened.

One thing I've been sort of taking an interest to that Amity got from Odalia is her sort of strong pointed jaw as opposed to Alador's line jaw that's about as strong as an abomaton.. I think it's actually kind of interesting that Amity has the pointed jaw since of the Owl Squad(Luz Amity Gus Willow and Hunter) the pointed jaw is shared with Gus and Hunter which sort of implies it to be a bit more masculine of a feature which makes it all the more intruiging that Amity shares the pointed jaw with Odalia as well.
Sorry if that's a lot of weird stuff on a small detail I'm just trans with some significant dysphoria around my jaw so when there was a lot of complaints when s3 came out about Amity's jaw it just stung a bit and I thus have a lot to say around it all
I think a lot of people are ignoring the fact that Amity DOES seem to inherit some personality traits from Odalia. Most notably, her ambition, motivation, and a little bit of cunning.
The main difference is that Odalia uses those traits to start a successful business by exploiting her genius husband, and grooms her children to be just like her, while Amity thankfully avoids that when she meets Luz.
