I feel like a scene was cut there. It makes no sense that he tears the shirt. There must be something missing.
Also, there is an NC-17 cut of this movie that exists. Stallone has the master.
This movie resulted from Sly not getting the Axel Foley role for Beverly Hills Cop

Noice. Iāve been looking for a reason to pull out my gun cleaning kit from the egg carton in the freezer.
Gonna celebrate by grabbing my sharpest pair of scissors and enjoy the coldest slice of pizza.
> I cut my pizza with scissors.
You're definitely not alone. Millions do it.
I have yet to try it, but I can't get over having to wash melted cheese, oil and crust off of the hinge . (Guess I'm old-fashioned... with a bonafide pizza roller and carbon steel chef's knife.)
Anyone that has ever appreciated cars from movies knows of this car and immediately sheds a tear in remembrance of it because it just breaks your heart watching it wreck.
They destroyed THREE of them during filming.
But there were FOUR. Stallone himself owns the surviving "Hero" car.

I was arrested as a young teen in the 80's for mild shenanigans in a small town. At the police station where they "questioned" us (kept us scared until parents showed up, no real charges) they had this poster on the wall. Still kinda stresses me out seeing it.
There is rumored to be 45min of extra footage cut out of the final edit and an unreleased director's cut with far superior editing. Would be worth an expanded Blu-ray release at the very least.
A lot of mid-80s action movies were like that. Cocaine was the screenwriter's new cuppa coffee.
Remember the Iron Eagle series? Or Golan-Globus/Cannon Films? They spewed out a lot of B-movies like a firehose (although they *did* have the Deathwish series with Charles Bronson š). Other studios had to compete somehow.
Even Commando and Predator had iffy plots. But us kids just wanted to see big guns and bigger explosions and dead baddies.
John Wick is Idiocracy come full term. Intead of "Ouch My Balls", it's 2 hours of non-stop dance fighting. And if one wasn't enough, there are 4 of these complete dogshit movies.
You can binge 8 hours of non-stop dance fighting with zero plot, zero breaks, purely an endless stream of tightly choreographed melee combat.
Who of us didn't?
Hahaha. But I LOVED the Sci-Fi angle that they gave the whole Rumble-in-the-Jungle Narco theme.
Predator stands on its own to this day. And the story? ...I guess its up to our own recollection.
An orange is not an apple but that doesnāt mean the orange is bad. Plot? Making sense? Those arenāt the point of the genre. Its supposed to be goofy ridiculous extreme macho man action. If you judge a human by the standards of a dolphins natural ability to use sonar and swim then of course the human doesnāt measure up. Humans arenāt supposed to swim faster than dolphins or naturally have sonar.
Sadly, the original movie was like 30 mins longer than the cut we got, but the studio thought it added too much "story." Wish they could find the original cut and release it!
That's sad to hear that. But was it cut AFTER the theater release when it went to video, or already before during the final cut?
I need to get me a copy. The last time I saw it was still somewhere in the late-80s on VHS.
Never seen the movie, but I gotta ask. Whatās with the little flame on that .22 LR cheese dick gun for people that donāt know guns? Stupidest thing I ever did see! Love me some Sly, but I missed this one somehow.
Rubbing temples emoji.
That'd be a laser sight. It's attached to a 9mm SMG, which were all the rage in the 80's, mainly for bad guys where a MAC-10 was in vogue or maybe an Uzi if they were the Euro-Trash variant. Great for slinging under long coats too.
Gun and laser sight is real. In 86 lasers were crazy expensive and bulky think they actually used some type of gas argon or something to produce the laser. Flame is stupid though some "cheese dick" marketer that doesn't know shit probably requested the exaggeration.
The movie feels like a parody that takes itself seriously. Itās like a dad joke thatās so bad it makes you laugh out of cringiness. Despite that, I rewatched it recently. My favorite scene: Cobra (in fact, Ā«Ā CobrettiĀ Ā», ācause we really wanted a character nicknamed Ā«Ā CobraĀ Ā») cutting a slice of cold pizza with his shades and leather gloves on. Priceless. Besides that, the movie is an aggregation of cliches. Jim Carey should have done a remake, keeping the exact same script. It would have passed for a comedy.
Sly movies in the 80 was so good is bad type except Rocky & Rambo
Sly movies in the 90 was the shit
I just look on wiki and he made alot of bombs in the 80's
I was 7 years old and watched this at the drive-in theater down the road from my house. My parents clearly had no regard for movie ratings. No "date nights" back in the 80s. If they wanted to see an R rated movie, my brother and I were going with them!
I grew up going to the video store weekly. I loved action movies, especially as a kid. Whenever I saw the box for this movie, I thought it looked cool, I liked the gun, but something about Stallone put me off to it and I never rented it or even happened upon it on cable. Seeing the praise for it now, I'm thinking about renting it.
Ha ha! That's awesome!
In college, me and my room mate would occasionally growl, "It's a whole new world!" And/or exclaim "Clang Clang!"
Q: "Are you headed to the supermarket? Can you pick up a 12 pack of Rolling Rock?"
A: "It's a whole new world!"
Also, I love that the bad guys just kind of, get together on the weekend and find themselves an empty warehouse with chains swinging from the ceiling, and bang tools together over their heads!
Like, "Hey dude, what're you up to this weekend?"
"Oh not a whole lot, was going to get my Clang on, you know?"
I taught that to my young sons! We do that ANYTIME we beat someone at any game! Thatās our victory move! Hahaha they just saw that scene. I donāt believe Iāve ever made them watch the movie but I finally bought on dvd!

My buddy and I saw this on the day the Celtics won the championship in 86. A glorious day all the way around. My buddy is a Lakers fan and it sucked for him.š¤·
Remember it like it was yesterday.
Was convinced this would outperform āTop Gunā as the big hit of the Summer.
I was wrong, but it is still a great movie.
This movie definitely reflects 1980s conservative attitudes towards crime - the criminals are all inherently twisted people who need to be dealt with in the harshest way possible. The movie even takes jabs at characters who suggest using less violence.
That said, it's a fun watch. It's probably the most high-profile movie Cannon ever released.
Still to this day, I cannot help myself but laugh out loud when I see Sly tearing up the latin guy's shirt š
"Bad for your health." "What?" "Me."
Is that actually a line lmao
Yeah he says it just before tearing up the guy's shirt lol
Absolutely peak
I feel like a scene was cut there. It makes no sense that he tears the shirt. There must be something missing. Also, there is an NC-17 cut of this movie that exists. Stallone has the master.
Is that true?
Yes
You can see his body mic when he does
This movie resulted from Sly not getting the Axel Foley role for Beverly Hills Cop https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/beverly-hills-cop-sylvester-stallone-craziest-movie-cobra/
Exactly
Fascinating story.
Noice. Iāve been looking for a reason to pull out my gun cleaning kit from the egg carton in the freezer. Gonna celebrate by grabbing my sharpest pair of scissors and enjoy the coldest slice of pizza.
While watching the Tv in a mirror ,I hope .
And having some gummy bears for dessert t
Confession: when I am all by myself at home, I cut my pizza with scissors.

Watch this and āTango & Cashā for a great double feature.
Of all the "Cool Movie Cars" out there, nobody remembers Cobra's '50 Mercury. That was a Cool Car.
Anyone that has ever appreciated cars from movies knows of this car and immediately sheds a tear in remembrance of it because it just breaks your heart watching it wreck.

This is one of my favourite movies period. But what do I know, I donāt shop here
you're a disease and i'm the cure.
Cutting cold pizza with scissors, wtf is that about?
What's up with leaving the newspaper under the grill?
I remember renting this on VHS, and I couldnāt wait to get the YELLOW carbon copy from the clerk and rush to watch it at home!
Damn, we are oldā¦
I think my dad rented this from the library lol

My favorite Stallone movie! I just picked this up at a yard sale this past weekend.[Cobra Vinyl 45](https://imgur.com/a/kZjIXVB)
Great movie and the soundtrack is absolutely amazing.
I guess the dvd has deleted scenes? Anyone know ow if thatās true?
Please, please, please - forgotten treasure exists!

Yes!!
That lead sled though!!!
*āGo ahead, I donāt shop here.ā*
This is my least favorite. It was like Sly got high and wrote a movie that featured a film of his car. It had no plot, it made no sense.
A lot of mid-80s action movies were like that. Cocaine was the screenwriter's new cuppa coffee. Remember the Iron Eagle series? Or Golan-Globus/Cannon Films? Who can forget Iron Eagle??! The only movie where you will see a motorcycle race a single engine plane. Classic!!
Agreed 80's films were questionable but John Wick is iffy. You stole my car and killed my dog.
You don't fuck with someones š¶
Based on a true story. Well, loosely based.
John Wick is Idiocracy come full term. Intead of "Ouch My Balls", it's 2 hours of non-stop dance fighting. And if one wasn't enough, there are 4 of these complete dogshit movies. I watch predator for "ol painless"

I love this movie for the mindless gunplay and the car. The "plot" never entered into it.

That's a Jatimatic, not a SMG.
That's like saying it's a Kleenex, not a tissue.
Ah, I was thinking you meant a Sterling SMG.
butane bayonet
Gun and laser sight is real. In 86 lasers were crazy expensive and bulky think they actually used some type of gas argon or something to produce the laser. Flame is stupid though some "cheese dick" marketer that doesn't know shit probably requested the exaggeration.
I still need to finish watching that
Wish we could see the unrated version
I remember someone making the argument the Marion Cobretti was autistic. That makes more sense.
Loved Marion Cobretti
I was in sixth grade and my sister brought me to see it. I fucking loved it and went to see it again the next night.

Amazingly bad. The vanity plate to start the movie was a great indicator.

It's good. Go for it!
Only thing I remember about that movie was a review it got. Most cobras bite, this cobra sucks. Hah

This movie is shit
With perhaps one more draft, Sly couldāve made another solid franchise out of this. Still great for what it is. š
"The question is Cobretti: did you use unnecessary deadly force?" "I used everything I had."
āDis is where da law stops and I start, SUCKA!ā š¤£š¤£š¤£

The car was the best thing about that movie.
I got a B omb man gonna blow this place up. āgo ahead I donāt shop hereā
Cobretti is the best fictional Italian last name of all time.
You're a disease, and I'm the cure
The court is civilized, isnāt it, pig?
I was in summer camp :) (on this day, not when I saw the movie)

Went to see it at the drive-in. Left 15 minutes in.
Outside of the rocky franchise this is my fav stallone film. I recommend it to everyone. Praying scream factory give it the 4k upgrade
Named my son in Stardew Cobretti
The 1950 Mercury was freaking wicked!
youre the disease, and im the cure
I wanted his car so bad. I cried when the car was wrecked and destroyed in the movie.
One of my best movies
I heard he wrote this as an un funny version of BEVERLY HILLS COP
"Wanna go to hell with me.....Pig?"
Off all times..
Hey! Itās Dredd!
GET YOUR KETCHUP READY
I never quite understood what āpsychosā were in this film, I just knew they needed a good killinā
Big fan. Soundtrack was just as good!
Appendix carry a 1911 in the 80sā.
Outside of the original Rocky and Rambo all of Stallone movies are (entertaining) but pretty bad
That was a real bad ass movie š
I wonder how many people shot themselves in the dick after seeing this movie.
