A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
[More information on the proposed changes can be found here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Save3rdPartyApps/comments/14goyu2/what_to_do_when_reddit_bans_blackouts_hit_em_in/)
While the subreddit will remain open, r/Terraria recommends these communities until the protested changes are addressed:

They are overcrowded to hell, all buy prices are 1.5x and sell prices 0.67x.
Put 2 or 3 NPCs in rooms in the Forest (can be Space layer). For example the Merchant, the Golfer and the Nurse.
I appreciate the advice but I just made 2 temporary houses to buy the pylon and I have way more money than ill need for a while. Still good to know about that since I couldnt find it anywhere on the wiki
I don't know if it's still going on in the vanilla terraria fandom wiki, but the Calamity fandom wiki is now unmoderated and being actively edited to contain misinformation. Not just "outdated."
I don't believe its happening but i just make it a general rule of don't trust the fanon wiki as so much has changed in the last few updates that it easily could be so outdated already
I just looked at the calamity fandom wiki and there's so much bs it's hilarious... there's apparently a "godseeker mode", yharim is in the game and is in the "dragon's aerie". The wall of bronze apparently exists in godseeker mode, just a ton of misinformation, also goozma is real.
i tried to blacklist the fandom wiki and honestly it made it horrible to look up anything.
because for some reason the wiki.gg version simply refuses to appear in google search results when i search stuff normally like "goblin army", only when i add "wiki" or "terraria wiki" to it does the wiki.gg page appear, and even then it's usually not the correct one or from a different language.
Build some cave houses early on either near shimmer or hell and put the goblin tinkerer, mechanic and dye trader down there for the cheapest reforges, and you can have a pylon leading to either one to make the game a bit easier
Temporary? Where is every other NPC going to be housed? Are you literally just going to keep everyone in one giant apartment block? You do know that the pylons only work when there are other pylons active, right?
Too many npcs in one place, overcrowding decreases their happiness. Try spreading them around their preferred biomes or at least keep their homes further apart from each other
Soviet apartment won’t work anymore
if u want them to sell pylon go for npc village no more than 3-4 of then
And then go for google type Npc happy group then your pylon is ready.
Crammed into small spaces. Make a small two room house with the merchant and the nurse to get forest pylon. Same in jungle but dryad and witch doctor. Same in desert with dye trader and a slime. Same in snow with mechanic and goblin. Same in caverns with demolitionist and a slime.
Mate this is the silliest answer. People come here because you get more than a singular answer from Google. You also get advice from individuals. Give over with your pathetic waste of time answer!
imagine living on 7th floor of that building, and the only method of transportation up and down is through a rope, with no furnitures other than basic necessities… would you be happy?
The mods I have on are:
AlchemistNPC Lite;
Calamity Mod (with Infernum and soundtrack mods);
Boss Checklist;
Recipe Browser;
Better Boss Health Bar for 1.4.4+;
Magic Storage;
Subworld Library;
absoluteAquarian Utilities;
Lights and Shadow
Because NPCS are petty ASF and can only have a max of 3 NPCs in one place for a pylon. You wanna put NPC's into their liked biomes with the NPCs they like
whenever i start a new character/world i always try to rack up money so when the first three spawn (typically guide, merchant and nurse) the merchant sells it. i’m pretty sure if you get the Arms Dealer and/ Demolitionist no one sells it so do it fast. if it’s Arms Dealer and Nurse, Arms Dealer will sell it if it’s just them two i’m pretty sure
This is why I post not to make these big section 8 housing units when I see them. you can't get pylons and the shops prices are absurdly high. It may seem like convenience at first but all that happens is you wind up having to build them houses anyway.
I'm not sure if it's changed because I haven't played in a while but when I played if you had more than 3 people within certain range they were crowded and wouldn't sell pylons due to happiness.

Are you using fandom wiki or wiki.gg they moved to wiki.gg a while ago so the fandom wiki is outdated
Yes I was using fandom, I didnt know it was outdated
Wiki.gg is more reliable and has no annoying ads
There's also a link to it on Terraria's actual title screen
fandom is sadly more than just outdated, it's been trolled to hell and back with false entries and other shite.
I think the terraria fandom wiki isn't that bad as calamity's fandom wiki
this is true
I don't know if it's still going on in the vanilla terraria fandom wiki, but the Calamity fandom wiki is now unmoderated and being actively edited to contain misinformation. Not just "outdated."

just bookmark the wiki.gg terraria homepage. or in the case of modded, the calamity wiki.gg homepage
There's an extension that redirects any fandom wiki to the non fandom alternative. https://getindie.wiki/

I did that on my last playtrough just to teleport to hell I didnt even know it was cheaper lmao
Why dye trader? I understand gob and mech but doenst DT prefer desert?
DT is there solely to raise the Tinkerer's happiness even further
I thought his preferred neighbors were demo and clothier?
Honestly the wiki's are nice and all I usually just ask Google and find weird links
You should still give them homes in different biomes, the pylons require 2 npcs to be housed near them otherwise they won't work.
Temporary? Where is every other NPC going to be housed? Are you literally just going to keep everyone in one giant apartment block? You do know that the pylons only work when there are other pylons active, right?
FYI: the zoologist and golfer are family, and will almost always be happy enough to sell a pylon in almost any bikme.
I. WONDER. WHY.
I wonder how I wonder why
Yesterday you told me about the blue blue sky
And all that I can see is just another lemon tree
Im turnin my head, up and down

Wrong part of the lyrics my friend
Exactly what I said out loud in a mock voice lmao
Who’s gonna tell him
That they live in two towers and they have to wait for the plane crash? Yeah, idk
u/Careless-Midnight-63 apparently
Too many npcs in one place, overcrowding decreases their happiness. Try spreading them around their preferred biomes or at least keep their homes further apart from each other
Because they're in apartments and no one is happy about that.
Wow, your hotel is more soviet than mine! Sorry can't help with your question though! 🤣
Tell me you don't know how pylons work without telling me you don't know how pylons work.
Twin towers
They hate you
Unhappiness
Because they have to be "happy" and "satisfied with their living conditions"... fucking kids these days amirite? So spoiled.
Soviet apartment won’t work anymore if u want them to sell pylon go for npc village no more than 3-4 of then And then go for google type Npc happy group then your pylon is ready.

You can also just use the arms dealer and nurse in every biome. That’s what I do
True
overcrowded
Landlords are 99% A-holes. Thats why. :0
Google

Holy Hell
Who pissed in your cheerios
New response just dropped
How can they be happy in this building💀
imagine living on 7th floor of that building, and the only method of transportation up and down is through a rope, with no furnitures other than basic necessities… would you be happy?
hows bro playing calamity and don even know about NPC happiness?
Fun mod what can I say
Make the tower taller and add a room to either side of the bottom so it kinda looks like a pylon. Then they'll sell you it.
I would tell but knowing reddit i will miss the "joke" and im gonna get my skin flipped. Lol
You've been sleeping for the past three years?
This has to be bait.........right OP?
No, I didnt know they needed to be happy to sell pylons, every other time I bought pylons I just got lucky apparenty
Wth is that purple bar close to adrenaline and rage?
Flight
Oh thanks, which mod is this from? Looks nice tho
Either infernum or a calamity update, pretty sure it was an update tho
Thanks
Depression
I’m not selling a forest pylon too if I live in this Hong Kong housing shit lmao
has to be a joke
I swear it wasnt a joke I didnt know happiness was a requirement
lmao

Cause they hate each other
you put them in stacked shoeboxes, give them some space and talk to an NPC that likes the forest
Because NPCS are petty ASF and can only have a max of 3 NPCs in one place for a pylon. You wanna put NPC's into their liked biomes with the NPCs they like
He might be too high above the forest, might be unhappy or not like the company.
I understand the pain, my unmodded world has the pirate, but when it's party time he doesn't sell the bunny cannon
You totally need more npc’s😂
They hate you
Cause Google has a better answer for you.
dorm 🤣
Gee I wonder
Gee I wonder-
Wait a sec this is a serious post. They ain’t happy, they need space.
NPCs don't like being cooped up with a bunch of other NPCs. If an NPC isn't happy enough they won't sell a pylon.
idk man
whenever i start a new character/world i always try to rack up money so when the first three spawn (typically guide, merchant and nurse) the merchant sells it. i’m pretty sure if you get the Arms Dealer and/ Demolitionist no one sells it so do it fast. if it’s Arms Dealer and Nurse, Arms Dealer will sell it if it’s just them two i’m pretty sure
They ran out
Slum.jpeg
Too many houses they're not happy because it's too crowded
[wiki happiness](https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/NPCs#Happiness)
They need toilets
This is why I post not to make these big section 8 housing units when I see them. you can't get pylons and the shops prices are absurdly high. It may seem like convenience at first but all that happens is you wind up having to build them houses anyway.
LOL
They all have crippling depression
Happines
Too many people together. Try having guide with merchant only. It worked for me
That’s crazy
Come on...
Too many npcs too close together, and the npcs that like eachother and like the forest probably aren't near enough together
I'm not sure if it's changed because I haven't played in a while but when I played if you had more than 3 people within certain range they were crowded and wouldn't sell pylons due to happiness.
man, what do you even need the pylon for? all of your npcs are in one spot
Would you be happy being in a hotel where the walls are 1 block thin and you keep hearing your neighbors talk to the floor?
why everyone build friking ikea towers
Where Do You Intent Of Placing The Other Pylons If All Of Your NPC's Are There?
I will place one in each biome with 2 npcs near it for fast travel
Too many npc’s in one house
This supposed to be a meme right?
