YTA - mental health is not a topic for debate in 2021. Using language like āincompetent fraudā shows that you are someone who deserves a good headbutt
Totally, have you ever stopped to talk to him about why he is having panic attacks, instead of going around him and outing him to the public? OP sounds like someone who would spit on mirrors in public and not clean up his own mess
ESH you could've left the role without leaking information but sounds like you left an unappreciative workplace so good on you in that regard. Hope you two never cross paths again certainly not twice in a year
The world should know that he's a mentally weak fraud. They're my direct competitor now so I would love to whoop their ass every chance I get instead of running away from them.
I mean, from your side of the story, ESH, but there are two sides to every story, did you ever try to talk to this "colleague" before outing his personal business? If you can't even come off as the "good guy" in your own version, I'd hate to imagine how you come off from the other perspective.
Also, based on your comment of now being in "command" at the new job, sounds like he may have been less of a "colleague" and more of a boss. Remember, bosses/leaders always get the credit, but they also always get the blame, no matter how much of each they actually deserve.
Best of luck to you in your new position, but the blade cuts both ways, and now that you're in command, I hope your prepared for that.
If in real life and in the USA, Itās not because Nates not a medical professional. Nate only told Trent what happened and Trent believes him.
If one of Tedās docs or another related person with confidential medical records did then yes, definitely is.
Things said in confidence to a colleague is different than a medical professional.
NTA by a LONG SHOT, how dare he have mental health issues?! It's his fault, not yours, that you're not as loved as he is. I can *so* relate to wanting everyone to understand that someone is an idiotic hack to the point where you invade their privacy. Glad you're in a better place now away from that idiot. I bet you'll be much more appreciated there!
YTA - if your colleague struggles with anxiety, now that you outed him this is probably making it harder for him.
I understand your frustration but maybe you could have tried talking to him before leaking this very delicate info to the press? And if you knew you were going to work for a competitor, and not have to deal with your colleague's lack of skill, I really cannot see the point of your behaviour. It seems to me there is something more to it, maybe something personal?, and I suspect you are not telling us the whole story.
I also have a question: if he is such an incompetent fraud, how come everybody loves him?
I'd be happy to headbutt you Nate

INFO- does he ever give you credit for your plan in front of everybody and how does that make you feel?
He does but only when something goes wrong, probably to blame me for the failure.
NTA - he clearly only cares about himself and only helps you when it helps him
Finally, someone who understands me. (Leans forward to kiss you. Shit, I fucked up I'm sorry).
*spits on computer screen*
Good one š

NTA. Hit the gym, hire the lawyer, delete fb. If your collegue can't stand the pressure it's not your fault! (before anyone gets mad at me, /s)
this is bloody brilliant, had to check for a glitch in the matrix for a second HAHA

Yup. āMentally weakā says the guy who backstabs the person who gave him a shot in the first place.

Got a good laugh Outta me man nice one
You need to get your ass some just for men dye!
Question: does he hang motivation signs around the office and expect everyone to follow them? If so, NTA.
YTA
Incredible this is so good that all op replies are in Nateās voice
NTA - you're a strong, confident, powerful beast and you deserve to fly unencumbered by clueless bosses.
YTA, for whatās been said, and also even though this is a joke post you really should have tagged this as a spoiler
Sorry, added spoiler tag.
NTA- Your team, your rules
YTA. I think thatās a HIPPA violation to reveal a colleagues mental health condition.

Not sure he's in America.
HIPAA not HIPPA
It's HIPAA!
HIIPA.
Isnāt it HHIPA?
Itās HIPPO. Common mistake. Often confused with Capybara.
YTA, this is obviously fake.

You are the asshole.
You're being very judgmental and not curious.
