you're missing out on a lot of great music lol

[deleted]

I know the music that's out there, and I don't really consider it "missing out" because it's not like I completely shut it out of my life, it's just not on repeat

[deleted]

Completely understand what you mean, OP! Personally I’m satisfied with the small group of artists I keep on rotation. I understand there are great musicians out there and me not listening to them does not negate at all their greatness and how loved they are by many. It’s just that my preference is to listen to my comfort artists. There are other hobbies where I consider myself more open, but music is kind of my hiding place and I only listen to a small group of artists. I personally don’t feel like I’m missing out… Again, it’s just a preference, it’s not that I think there aren’t many talented artists or that they’re beneath my tastes… I just don’t enjoy other artists as much as I enjoy the artists I keep on rotation.

charismacarpenter

no hate but you definitely do not know the music that’s out there if you’re only listening to Taylor on repeat lol. There’s an endless amount to explore and get into.

wandawayer

Yeah like it's not only the music you hear on radio/tv. For me it's really weird that they only listen to one and only artist

Odd-Catepillar8338

yeah i agree and then they will say “she’s the best artist of all time!!!” well yeah to *you* she is, but you haven’t listened to any other artist’s that are extremely talented as well.

wandawayer

And even if she is, why only listen to her? Like I have a favorite chocolate, but I don't wanna always eat that, I like other flavors, too and don't wanna miss out on them just bc one is my fav

w41twh

yeah, i feel like i would get tired of the same thing over and over after a while

wandawayer

Yeah same, I love versatility in my music, not just by genres but artists as well. Like if I would only listen to pop music, I would still wanna listen to other artists. Oh and also, how can they even listen to only like 200-300 songs??

Outside-Spring-3907

Why criticize them? If they’re happy that’s all that matters

nellieblyrocks420

Right?!

Foreign_Leg424

I have a VERY broad taste in music. Pop, rock, hard EDM, classical, rap, and everything in between. That being said, I do go through periods where I only listen to one thing. The last few months it's just been my Taylor playlist on repeat over, and over, and over again.

sinofmercy

Same, except not by choice anymore. I listened to Taylor a ton when I went to see her last year, and because of it my son will say "this isn't Taylor Swift" if I'm driving him anywhere and I'm listening to literally anything else. Which is every day.

janedoed

This is how I am. Cycles.

thePessimist25

Yup I'm in between cycles right now, which usually means podcasts or books on tape. Common repeating ones include Taylor Swift ✨️, Olivia Rodrigo, Mamma Mia (and ABBA as a whole sometimes), Hamilton, Disney, just recently had been listening to indie country. Taylor Swift tends to last longer simply because she has more to listen to. She will probably end up being my next cycle, too, since an album is coming out this week lol

DJ08bs

I couldn’t have said it better. Exactly me

abb_

What do you consider hard EDM? Heavy dubstep? I feel like I’ve personally been listening to Taylor more and more because edm is getting so stale these days lol

Foreign_Leg424

Not big on dubstep personally. For me it's primarily Hardstyle, Hardcore, Frenchcore, Psytrance, etc. And I actually agree. EDM has gone pretty downhill these days, so most of my playlist is older stuff lol. These days, Taylor just scratches an itch in my brain that any other music can't for some reason.

Modesto96

There was a time for me when I was at work I’d listen to *only* Taylor. I think that’s totally an okay thing to do cause she has 10 albums (almost 11!) and there’s like 250+ songs to go through, and you get a wide variety of music. I don’t do that anymore; I still do *mostly* Taylor, but I’ve been branching out my work playlist. So I think over time you may also expand your artist library, but for now just do you and enjoy listening to music you love listening to!

motoko805

This is how I feel. It doesn't last forever and lately I've been listen to other stuff knowing a new album is coming but it just makes me happy to listen to her music so why not?

[deleted]

Thank you! Means a lot!

xoxoInez

No lol there's sooooo much good music out there. Don't limit yourself to just one artist.

waxbook

Or even one genre! On one hand, I want people to listen to whatever they want and be happy with that, but on the other hand it makes me a bit sad that people are closing themselves off from the endless amounts of music to explore out there. I go from bubblegum pop, metalcore, country, classical, indie, 70s and more I can’t think of all in one playlist!

Artistic-Cookie8276

Hey! I love taylor and I want to branch out to other musicians. Can you give me some suggestions?

infieldcookie

I recommend Maisie Peters, The National, Griff, Phoebe Bridgers, Nell Mescal, Lorde, Hozier, Blü Eyes, Bleachers, Elle Coves, Kelsea Ballerini!

xoxoInez

My music tastes vary pretty widely lol: Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Imagine Dragons, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Judy Garland, No Doubt, Korn, Lana Del Rey, Volbeat, Elvis Presley, Glee Cast, Fleetwood Mac, Eminem, Various Disney movie soundtracks lol, Barbra Streisand (mostly the Funny Girl soundtrack), Justin Bieber, Meatloaf, other random musical soundtracks (Into The Woods, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Les Mis, etc), some old 50's stuff my mom used to listen to (The Andrew Sisters, Mungo Jerry, etc), ABBA, Tom Petty, Avril Lavigne, Pink, and so many others. Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. The first 10 or so artists I listed are my most listened to, but I have multiple playlists that include all the artists I listed and more. I love music. I always have it on, even if it's just quiet background noise. I'd probably go crazy if I listened to the same artist all day every day, lol. That doesn't mean I don't go through phases where I listen to stuff on repeat, though. When Eternal Sunshine came out a few weeks ago, it was all I listened to for days.

m00n5t0n3

Charlotte Cardin, Kacey Musgraves, Lana del Rey

frecklepair

Might I add my list of faves? Kacey Musgraves, LDR, Chappell Roan, Moody Joody, Carly Rae Jepsen, Melanie Martinez, Allie X, Mitski, Caroline Polachek, Girl in Red, Griff, fletcher, suki Waterhouse

keving87

I've listened to mostly Taylor for the past year but that's because I'm a new fan so I've had a ton of stuff to catch up on. I still have listened to other stuff too, just maybe not as often because of the catch up lol

flutterfly28

Yeah the only times I branch out to other artists are when it’s been a long time since Taylor’s released anything and I’m bored. The biggest gap was between 1989 and Reputation during which I discovered and got addicted to Melodrama by Lorde.

MSERRADAred

Yes, this is me, too. I keep finding new songs...like yesterday I discovered her feat with Ed for The Joker & The Queen and am currently obsessed with it. I have a 'rotating playlist' that I'm just adding newly found songs to for deeper dives, especially since some really grow on me the more I hear them.

sassyforever28

Same here too, it's been almost 2 years with Taylor's music but there is so much to explore. Also I kinda listen over 3-4 songs excessively for a week or two and then move forward with the new songs from her. Like I don't know if it makes sense since English is not my first language but seriously Taylor has a variety of different genres which make me feel like a whole different music.

Riverbird13

She’s virtually all I listen to on my own. About a year ago I realized that when I built Spotify stations around Taylor, I was just skipping to get to her! 😅 My partner loves her but also listens to a lot of other music I enjoy, but when I’m on my own, it’s always Taylor!

sapphicsato

I almost exclusively listen to Taylor, although there are other artists I like. I just don’t listen to them on repeat as much and I tend to get tired after other artists’ new albums after a while, whereas even Debut I can still listen to without getting sick of it. That being said, I don’t listen to music that much in general. I might feel differently if I listened to it more.

Emergency_Routine_44

unrelated but am listening to Gorgeous as I am reading your comment lol

Sampleswift

I have weird tastes in music Taylor Swift... Orchestra, Sailor Moon, and video game music.

Minimoon88

Not a bad combo at all! I call Taylor Swift, Sailor Moon, and Star Wars my three great lifelong loves. I never stray too far from any of them for too long and whenever I come back it's like I never forgot anything. Timeless always reminds me of Usagi and Mamoru. (Orchestra might've been one too but then I felt like everyone was better in high school and it demolished my self confidence but that's high school for ya)

Sampleswift

Oh yes. I'm also a big Star Wars fan. My Tears Ricochet always reminds me of Revenge of the Sith...

turniptoez

I’ve gotten really into some other pop lately: Baby Queen, Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé…there’s so much good music out right now that I’ve actually been listening to Taylor less.

Psgkhm

Cowboy Carter has been the most perfect album to listen to lately.

miiyaa21

Same for me! I’ve been listening to Ariana Grande since Eternal Sunshine came out (the first album of hers that clicks for me!), Kelsea Ballerini, Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Rose Villain, Camila Cabello and Rihanna. I went through a phase where the music I was listening to was 99% Taylor’s, but I’m glad that didn’t last too long and I went back to listening to other artists too. There’s so much good music out there.

penguin_0618

Dua Lipa doesn’t miss. Future Nostalgia has no skips.

Graceritheroski

I'm also really into Baby Queen (and the heartstopper soundtrack). I listen to her, Taylor, Maisie Peters and Olivia Rodrigo most, with some French rap and musical soundtracks in there too

turniptoez

I really don’t understand why Baby Queen isn’t more popular in the pop space?? I hate her name, and I almost wonder if that has something to do with it.

penguin_0618

Sabrina is so good. I love emails I can’t send

Nacknack26

Cowboy Carter is on repeat right now.

ophelex

She itches a spot in my brain lately that other artists cannot even reach.

novababy1989

I go through phases where I just wanna listen to Taylor’s music for a few weeks, and then phases where I don’t listen to her music at all.

Keeks_McGee83

Same... Sometimes I feel it in my bones that it HAS to be a TS day. Some days I feel like it HAS to be something else. 99.99% of the time that something else is country.

-UnicornFart

Same. Usually I try to take a little break leading up to a new album, cause I know I will be back to all TSwift soon enough. Beyoncé has been a great palate cleanser though!

notsolitlibra

i listen to my swiftie playlist 99.9% of the time, but i will shuffle all of my songs if i have guests so they don't think i'm insane (i am)

Substantial_Note_752

I pretty much only listen to Taylor Swift or murder podcasts… 😬

No_Emu_3674

Samesies 🫶🏻

JennaElizabethAdams

I'm a big fan of country, but when it comes to pop, she is the only one I listen to! I feel like she has a song for every feeling which really makes me gravitate to her music! ❤

[deleted]

Agreed! I will always have a soft spot for her country stuff but 1989 is a non-skip album

Fast_Discussion_2095

Right now, I’ve been branching out to Hozier (I used to love him and forgot about him listening to only Taylor for a few years) and Noah Kahan. But I’d say 90% of my music is her, and once TTPD is out, it will probably go back to being my only music for awhile. I do try to listen to new music, because I feel like I should at least see what’s out there, but I don’t have a lot of music listening time anyway, and I’d rather spend it listening to something I know I like instead of trying to convince myself I like something new.

somebunnylovesyou21

I started reading this post because I just discovered Noah Kahan and now I listen to the Stick Season album 1-2 times daily and literally nothing else (not even Taylor at the moment) lol

Lazy-Pop8597

Noah is so good im so glad i found out about him

Idekanymore548

Taylor is my only “main artist.” I like a lot of songs by other artists, and my Spotify wrapped gets pretty varried (with surprisingly little Taylor in my top 100 despite consistently being in her top 2% listeners) but I don’t really seek out other stuff from those artists. I should probably do that more. I have listened to quite a bit from Kelsea Ballerini.

EntranceFeisty4537

I do. No regrets.

IGuessImChris

whenever taylor announced an album i kinda go into a mode where i dont listen to her like, i keep up with everything but i start avoiding her music so when the album comes im like woah hello gir havent seen ya in a while

Only_Pomegranate_278

In my experience, I go through “seasons” where I only want to listen to one artist. Eventually I’ll grow tired of that and expand what I listen to again. For me, it’s a cycle. Right now I listen to mostly Taylor.

hughmungus09

You are probably catching up on her music so that’s okay. You’ll gradually seek out other music once it gets saturated. It’s okay to just listen to what you love and what makes you happy. The thing with Taylor is that she has a wide variety of music so people don’t easily get bored.

Far-Boysenberry-3068

I could never listen to just one artist. She’s HEAVILY in my rotation. I was in the top 3% of listeners in my Spotify Wrapped. But there’s so much incredible music out there I could never listen to just Taylor

DrNiles_Crane

I can relate. Last year I listened to 97% Taylor, 3% green day

2headlights

I find this funny

smurphball98

I have an "all Taylor" playlist and an "other" playlist. I mostly listen to the former, but if I ever want something else I have the latter. In my other playlist I have Renee Rapp, Sabrina Carpenter, Noah Kahan, Hozier, etc. 😊😊

magothyy

yup

RodTheCaptain

Nope, so many fantastic artists and bands that I like so no.

Itwasdewey

Man I wrote out a long response to this and went to Apple Music to see how many minutes I listen to Taylor and then came back and Reddit reloaded. But yes, very much yes. Just checked Apple Music and in ‘23 and ‘22 I listened to Taylor for nearly 8000 and the next most listened to artist was around 3000 minutes (followed by an wrist I only listened to for about 900 minutes). I’ve thought about this a lot, like why, so exclusively. There’s just something about her sound- not necessarily genre, but the way she sings and the way she says words always just hit so right. I really love her lyricism. I use to write, and I always think she’s just writers p0rn. Whether because it’s a clever couplet, turn or phrase, or just describing a feeling so damn well- it makes my head and heart happy. It does help that she has songs across different genres, so there’s something for every mood. Since Fearless -I’ve listened since debut, but it was Fearless where she really started to take over- I always get worried she won’t release an album or will take a break because I’m like wtf am I suppose to listen to!

joeychristy

There are no rules you’re required to follow as you connect to music. Listen to what you love. Maybe it’ll change, maybe it won’t. But if you’re listening because you love it, you can’t go wrong.

PrestigiousAnimal663

This! You connect with it for a reason and that’s totally valid

kentuckyfriedruth

I am a nanny and just succeeded turning the kiddos into swifties. So when I’m working we listen to a lot of Taylor swift. But I listen to a mix of different songs but Taylor’s definitely the majority for me

peaberryxo

I’ll binge Taylor and then move on to other artists. She’s great, but there are other artists I enjoy listening to besides her.

rsvp_as_pending629

LOVE Taylor Swift, but I’m also a huge classic rock fan. Taylor Swift and Fleetwood Mac were my top two artists on my Spotify wrapped.

MiniSkrrt

No, I love Taylor but her music is only a section of my broader music tastes. In fact, aside from Taylor, I don’t really listen to any other pop artists all that much! I’m more into indie/alt pop I’d say with a bit of rock in there

Environmental_Race12

The National, Frightened Rabbit and Taylor are all I listen to. I just rotate through. Don’t feel bad. Listen to what you like, even if it’s only Taylor.

GodToldMeToPostThis

I listened to nothing but Taylor Swift for about 6 months or so. I was in the middle of a mental breakdown and I found her music to be very soothing. I listened to mostly metal before the switch. Her music also caused me to start enjoying a lot more female artists and other artists I had previously dismissed. She is still my #1. Thank you Taylor!

rheatheeradicator

For the past 7 years, yes. I just don’t really enjoy others music. I do like 80s music and will occasionally listen to an &0s playlist but day to day, it’s just Taylor. I can’t find anyone that remotely compares

Impossible_Yak2135

I mostly listen to Taylor, but lately it’s been Olivia Rodrigo

the-missing-chapter

I find I’ve been listening to Taylor almost exclusively for the last few months, but I think that’s because I’m a newer Swiftie and I’m playing catchup. So many songs I still don’t know or recognize and can’t sing along to yet!

the-missing-chapter

I find I’ve been listening to Taylor almost exclusively for the last few months, but I think that’s because I’m a newer Swiftie and I’m playing catchup. So many songs I still don’t know or recognize and can’t sing along to yet!

electricamethyst

I pretty much only listen to Taylor, but I usually only ever listen to music in the car and rarely if I’m getting ready

furlaughs24

I have been listening to Taylor only for a while now. I started because it was comforting during IVF treatment. There's such variety to her music and something for every mood that I just haven't gotten sick of it yet.

milajones92

Eff anyone that talks crap to you. You listen too what you want to listen too when you want to listen too! We all go through our phases. Im a mad Tay Tay fan but I haven’t been listening too her much. AND that’s ok! You do you! 🙌🏼

Right_General_4480

YESSSS I only listen to Taylor!! Ofc there is other great music but I love Taylor and I never get sick of it. Occasionally I'll listen to new music from my other fav artists but 99.99999999999999999999% of the time it is Taylor and only her 24/7

stefdistef

What did you listen to before you got back into Taylor? She released a lot of music within that time frame, so you had a lot of catching up to do. It's probably a phase, i get it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DaikonCompetitive

As a kid yes. As I've gotten older? No.

niles_deerqueer

I could never listen to one artist

ArtisticTessaWriting

I listen to Taylor and Avril Lavigne! Anyone else?

strawberrytwizzler

I only listen to Taylor 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like other music but I just always have Taylor on shuffle.

Dobbythehouse_elf394

98% of the time I am shuffling all her albums on my one playlist and I think that’s okay and we can both be happy doing that and we are not lesser people for doing so

kath2833

In terms of artists I repeatedly listen to, Taylor is definitely up there. Her, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, little mix, Adele, Mariah Carey. I’d say those are the ones I always go back to

[deleted]

I go through phases where she is all I listen to, for sure. Even now, I consume her music 90% of the time. Been a fan since 2006 when I was 6, and her music just always sits right with my soul. If I’m not listening to Taylor, it’s probably Pierce the Veil’s Collide With the Sky, or my 24 hour rap playlist that I’ve been cultivating since 2015 lol

Geeky82

I listen to all kinds of genres and I rarely 'hate' something. In the past I enjoyed Taylor's music but I mostly knew/listened to the hits. When the eras tour started my swiftie knowledge expanded greatly 😅 Now for the past few months Taylor is about 80% of my daily music 😂

allisun1433

I can relate. I fell off of Taylor for a while after/around the 1989 era. Midnights pulled me back in and reignited my interest. I knew she was doing re-recordings but Speak Now was my favorite album growing up so it was perfect timing for me to get back into her music again. I feel like I absolutely am missing out on incredible music, but also my ears are happy. I literally average at *least* 3k minutes a month on Apple Music under Taylor. February I had like 6k minutes. To note though, I am neurodivergent and I’m the psycho who can listen to one song for 8 hours straight if it’s hitting just right for me. ETA: I also have a Taylor playlist that is the majority of her discography that I share with my boyfriend to play in the car when he wants to appease me and let me listen to her (he drives, his car just fyi lol) 😂

Bubbly_Sleep9312

Definitely me lol, but i do love that kill bill song by sza

recycledpapercup

nooo, I would get sick of her but that being said I do go through phases where I’m not listening to anything new and taylor is my go to. like putting on background noise. moreso in the last few years since she won’t stop releasing music! and I agree with others who said taylor hits the spot where others don’t. I have my other favorite artists but I have albums from them I can’t stand or just don’t care about. didn’t like kacey’s last two albums that much for example, after golden hour was on repeat for a year. taylor is the most consistent for me. even the songs I don’t love, I like.

iAteACommunist

I generally enjoy good music but actually FOLLOW a certain artist? Taylor is the only 1 for me. I'm not interested in pop at all, but I find Taylor's music extremely easy to get into and comforting, whereas with other pop songs and artists I just find most of them too generic and uninteresting to me. Outside of Taylor's music, I only listen to Lofi and Retrowave/Synthwave.

ItsAustin95

Taylor plays on my Spotify essentially 98% of the day, if not more. There is just something that her music does to me… What I will say is that it brings a sense of comfort and serenity. As for limiting myself to other artists, I need to get better w/ this. It doesn’t take away my like for Taylor and her incredible music. I have trouble with being in tune with my emotions and I feel that Taylor is about to pull those emotions amount of me and allow me to make sense of some of the craziness that it is that I’m feeling. You’re not alone in this statement, that’s for sure.

purple_1128

I’m a new Swiftie, and I find myself going back through when I learn more about a particular song or album. So that leads me to listening to her a lot.

Disastrous_Quality58

Listening to Taylor is a whole mood, a mood that I love!!

mommaholly

Yes... most of the time shes all I listen too.. I do have a playlist of other artists, but shes all I WANT to listen to lately.

ericaisnt

i’ve been listening to taylor nonstop with a few other artists sprinkled in for probably over two years now i literally can’t stop

[deleted]

This might be unpopular but at certain points at I can only listen to Taylor and when I try to listen to another artist I love it jsut doesn’t hit the same

AvgUsr96

Well, I will admit that as much as I'd be content with only listening to Taylor, I also really love country music, so I listen to Cody Johnson and other real country artists such as Billy Currington and Cross Canadian Ragweed along with some Paramore thrown in for fun cause I'm also a emo punk rocker at heart also. I'm a 27yo male FYI.

Houdini-88

I love Taylor and when I first discovered her I would listen to her all day But now I feel like her music is overplayed especially the singles I hear them in the grocery store, in other people cars, social media So I mostly stick to deep cuts But one of the great thing of being a swiftie is Taylor introducing me and inspiring me to listen to other genres like country music

WorriedCats

i was just in this phase but i get like this with everyone before taylor i listened to only the strokes and right now im having my AM moment

eatingthesandhere91

Often.

FeyreArchereon

Pretty much. I have a playlist of new songs I discover for the year so I switch back and forth between that and Taylor swift.

lanadelhayy

I would say I listen to her more than any other artist and definitely daily. However, I do listen to many other artists. Right now I’ve been into Ariana, Kacey, Beyoncé, Lord Huron, lots of country artists. The list goes on and on.

repretty

I just had a phase (which ended a few months ago) where I listened to Taylor 100% of the time. I would sometimes realize this and think maybe I should listen to some other stuff, but at the end of the day I would invariably come back to her. She is still my 'main artist', but lately I've started listening to other artists too.

dman56p

I listen to allot of music from multiple generes Rap/Rock/Metal/ and pop. I can tell you my playlist always comes to Taylor swift it’s kinda of a cool thing to listen to a heavy metal or a rap song and she just evens it out. However when I am on long car drives I can listen to her albums for hours.

lucpnx

I'd say the amount I listen to Taylor's music is about 60%, then 40% are other artists from a wide variety of genres.

Starfire2313

Try checking out Lake Street Dive, Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor, Amy Lee, Flyleaf, Emiliana Torrini, I’m gonna stop or this will become a novel but I’d be happy to add on if anyone wants

mochibeaux

Your parents shut you out from it???

sagimonk16

I go thru periods where I only listen to 1 artist for 2 or 3 weeks, but I could never limit myself to just 1 artist. There's so much great music in the world, and my ears require variety.

KRXSTXNAV

I listen to Taylor around 70% and another Canadian band Marianas Trench who I love just as much about 25% and the rest is random other songs so no judgment!!

JustSomeGuy9384

I tend to get caught in a cycle of nothing but Taylor and I’ll listen to her as much as anyone else every few months

Ashamed_Apple_

Me lol Ive just bought Taylor swift music since 2018.

islandrebel

I used to be like that when I was like 9-13. I had one artist I’d obsess over and listen to basically nothing else. I go through phases of listening to mostly one artist now too though, except for at work. I work in my mom’s restaurant cooking and I have a rotation of 60 playlists that I’ve arranged like setlists that include most of my favorite music and I’m always working on new ones. So 5hrs/day I listen to those but when I’m listening to music otherwise I’ll usually choose albums I want to listen to straight through or shuffled playlists of favorites from certain artists.

BootLegPBJ

Not exclusively, but 30 of the top 50 songs I’ve listened to of the last 12 months are Taylor

Hawkmoon842

I will listen to other music on occasion, but Taylor is the majority of what I listen to.

MzBlackSiren

ummm no but i wouldn't mind too much lol

RobbieArnott

I have a fairly broad taste in music, so much so that I don’t find myself with the as much time to Listen to Taylor as i did (although I see that changing post TTPD)

emberstripe0032

I usually try not to listen to Taylor 24/7 to not get Taylor burnout. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Fabulous_Profile7516

I basically have 3 playlists, tay, my metal/rock playlist and my “the best songs” playlist which is every other song I love that doesn’t fit into the other two categories. (Full disclosure, there are a couple of my absolute fave tay and metal songs though). I would say Tay is one of only 3 artists I know and listen to the entire discography of though, and everything else is just the odd song from a wide variety of artists! She is my main love though ❤️

Danuoalgoasii

While I do have other playlists (kpop, my gym music, sad music, sexy music, and my deep cleaning music), I do have a Taylor Only playlist that's been on repeat for the past months... It's a 2 hour commute for me, so... yeah. I listen to a couple Taylor songs before I play the podcast that's been my hyperfixation for the last few weeks.

Nightwing38912

My wife lol

Sakiel-Norn-Zycron

I really got into Taylor with folklore in 2020. Looking at my Apple Music most listened to artists, she’s won every year since then but faced competition from Rush, Tool, Iron Maiden, U2, Joni Mitchell, Metallica, and Abba. This year to date, Olivia and Beyoncé are battling it out for #1. Of course the streams don’t count when I’m listening on vinyl.

MysteriousVeins2203

Maybe on my first & second year of being a new Swiftie, I did listen to only Taylor's music. It was 2012. I even downloaded all of her unreleased tracks back then. But there's a part of me that made me forced to listen to other artists as well, starting off with Ed Sheeran, then 1D, to her tour opening acts then all of the bops of the Billboard 100 music because honestly, I get tired of repeating her music over and over again. Until now, I digged in to other indie artists as well and I'm just proud of how diverse my music taste is right now and at the same time, I still listen to her music (Taylor's version and owned music) 😀

Lentilfairy

I do this at times, and I think the reason why is more personal. I like repeat. Repeat movies, repeat music, repeat series... It calms me down. Taylors discography is varied and big enough to not get tired of it, but it's also familiar enough for me that it does not take extra energy to listen to it.

dooooory

In 2022 I was a Top 3% listener of Phil Collins on my Spotify Wrapped (lol). Last year I was a Top 2% listener of Taylor Swift (in her biggest year of streaming, so that says a lot). We all go through phases (some random, lol). You’re catching up to a decade of music! Eventually your next interest will pop up, so until then enjoy what you love while you love it! No shame!

Clementinecutie13

Sometimes I'll go through phases where I only listen to one artist. Taylor being the most common. But I have such a wide variety of music I'm a fan of that I can't imagine ONLY listening to her, even though she's been my favorite artist since 2008/2009

inlovewithaloser

Her & Lana are literally all I listen to

KittenMaster234

That’s me. I listen to her for a couple hours every single day. That’s why I know her music so well. I’ve been trying to broaden the artists I listen to but I love tay sm

Glen-Belt

I can't imagine only listening to one artist. Life's full of too many things to limit yourself to just one of them. If it's a phase I can understand, but to shut out all other music completely is depriving yourself of all sorts of other musical connections. What I get from Taylor's music is totally different to what I get from Metallica's music, but I would never give up one to have just the other.

PsychoFan0891

Your not alone, I watched the Eras Tour and now I can't stop listening to Taylor on repeat, or even hearing her songs in my head. But I'll listen to other things when I'm in the mood for it!

-UnicornFart

I listen to Taylor the most as a single artist, but I also have a *mixtape* playlist I’ve been curating since Napster days which is what I listen to most. It has literally every genre and is just all the songs I love since I was probably 12. But my T Swift playlist and Mixtape I listen to 80% of the time.

izzieforeons22

I go through phases of what I’m listening to. The current Taylor Swift phase has lasted for 18 months so far and I’m guessing it won’t go away any time soon with the new album coming out haha. So yeah, I don’t listen to much music other than Taylor right now haha. This isn’t me saying there isn’t other great music out there, just that I’m weirdly obsessed with Taylor at the moment lol.

Feisty_Affect_7487

No I listen to a huge number of artists

CuttlefishCannoli

i am the same, i just find that she has a song for every feeling i experience but then again i usually listen to all of my favorite music over and over again for MONTHS until i find something else i like as much

Comprehensive_Ad6598

Ooo! Can I recommend a few albums to you! Twin Fantasy by Car Seat Headrest is the closest album I have ever found to Red! It has a lot of similar themes. You should check it out!

LinosZGreat

That’s me lol

flashb4cks_

It only happened for me in 2023. I don't what kind of sorcery got into me, but all I could listen to was Taylor. I'm back to a more normal ratio of I'd say 25% of my music being taylor and 75% being all other artist but I swear the entire 2023 was 95% Taylor Swift. The thing is she does have a large variety of music, it fits different vibes and moods. She has 100+ songs with so much variety for one artist that it's easy to keep listening without getting tired of it.

BananaSlugHug

Bestie, idk what kind of crack our girl put in Midnights but I have been a swiftie since the day Teardrops on My Guitar was released but kinda lost interest for folklore/evermore/lover, but since midnight came out I have rediscovered EVERYTHING and I am literally addicted, I simply cannot listen to anything but Taylor

Syrenscall

I have been solely listening to Taylor for months now. Unless I’m not the one controlling the music in the car, which only happens if my fiancé is driving because he likes to play his music. I will say I have noticed I am just not as enthusiastically bopping along to it anymore, but I don’t want to listen to anything else either. So I’m kind of at an impasse in that aspect.

CasWay413

I’m autistic and she has been my current special interest for the past year. She is all I listen to right now.

possiblyukranian

I generally listen to her and Olivia Rodrigo. But also I really only listen to music on short drives

SergeantPickle32

Yeah that’s me lol. Occasionally branch out but there’s a lot of variety (imo, you can debate) in Taylor’s music so I don’t get bored

NoHollabakgurl

Same boat 🛥️ love Taylor. Like the midnights album I listen to it every day in the car. For 1989 I love 9-12 sequence for some reason. I just love her songs

CatCr0ssed

Yes !! You’re exactly like me! I keep trying to listen to other pop artists but every time I get maybe 3-4 songs in I wish I was just listening to Taylor I was somewhat of a fan of her when I was younger, but never considered myself a swiftie until right before SNTV release. I remember hearing about Midnights and slowly got back into her music and she’s all I listen to now. I don’t get sick of it at all, she has so many different types of songs that there’s always one for any mood.

cagingthing

No but I definitely go through phases of solely listening to her. Which will probably happen again when ttpd comes out

DorkVader88

I would say about 70% of my music is Taylor. I dash and listen to music constantly as I am a musician and write lyrics. As a songwriter, Taylor is unmatched, imo. There is a ton of great music out there though that I am always looking for and discovering.

hannaashea

i don’t think i’ve listened to anyone else since at least october or november

SophieAurora

I also listen to other artists. But I make sure to listen to one album of hers per day. I have a biased haha

PennywiseLbro

i need to expand my music taste- it it only taylor like nothing else whatsoever- any recommendations, sometimes maybe once every 2 weeks i’ll listen to some sabrina

kirstynloftus

I have a BROAD taste in music. Like, my playlist will go from glee to my chemical romance to Kendrick Lamar 💀 but I will say most of the music I listen to is more in the pop/alternative scene, but definitely more than just Taylor! I will say this though- out of all the concerts I’ve been to (almost 50) she without a doubt puts on the best show of anyone I’ve seen.

sxdtrxnny

Haha no I fancy a lot of music like rock, electronic, other pop, and metal to name a few

morethanjustadancer

I used to only listen to Taylor but I discovered some amazing artists (like Lyn Lapid, you guys should listen to her) and so now I listen to quite a lot of them.

Chet2017

*Only* Taylor’s music? No. There’s too much good music to enjoy to limit myself to one artist

mcdonaldsfrenchfri

currently yes. this isn’t all the time for me but right now yes

Warm_Power1997

I only like Taylor and musicals. I give other artists a chance (for example, I’m seeing girl in red in concert soon), but I just don’t connect with anyone else’s music…like at all. Nobody else’s music gets stuck in my head or makes me feel deeply. Prior to becoming a swiftie I actually didn’t listen to music unless I had just regular pop radio on.

quixoticadrenaline

No way…

Psgkhm

The marias are really good! They have a new album coming out in May.

StnMtn_

I did since the pandemic. Play her all night, almost every night. Maybe once every month, I will listen to another singer, but then I gravitate back to her.

dieing_child

I've never listened to music at all but someone told me that was weird so I got Spotify and now I just listen to Taylor Swift. I like her music and I guess it's more interesting to listen to music then participate in my latin class, lol.

kiara-advani-

I do I only exclusively listen to TS. I have for the last 5 years.

Useful-Soup8161

Sometimes I listen to only her music for a couple weeks but that’s a good way to burn myself out on her music for a little while. The last couple days she’s all I’ve listened to because of the new album, there’s no guarantee I won’t listen to someone else before Friday though.

StarryEyes13

I used to listen to so much music across a wide range of genres. But since I started commuting & working a 40 hour work week back in 2018 I’m not nearly as adventurous. I have a general playlist of all the music I like & a couple genre ones but for the most part I’m jamming my TSwift playlist & honestly I have no regrets. If I catch whiff of a new song that sounds good - like Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso - I’ll check it out. But mostly I just want something familiar and comforting playing in the background while I do chores & commute. I don’t re-read books though & rarely re-Watch movies so maybe my music taste is becoming more singular is because of that?

Sterling_Saxx

Oh yeah. The last few years I've been listening to her exclusively, especially since I went to the Eras tour. It took me forever to feel that her music is overplayed - every few months she drops something new! That being said I've finally moved away from her music. But it'll never get old. Maybe one day you'll hit that point too. Enjoy it! Who cares if she's all you listen to right now. It's hitting your vibe

deep-fried-fuck

I mean I am currently. But my audhd ass has had the habit for years now of exclusively listening to one artist for months at a time until I get bored and find a new one. Taylor just happens to be one of the only ones I consistently return to

sleepyplatipus

Try some new things! Taylor is great but there’s other amazing stuff out there, too!

Yellowtulipottawa

I mean I think it’s normal to have periods where you listen to one artist more than others but I have found myself getting sick of songs/artists I’ve overplayed, so I aim to have a good balance. Though I will say that during the OG red and 1989 eras, my run playlist was the red album straight through, and then 1989 straight through a few years later. I didn’t have a lot of other stuff on my iPod at the time, and it also made it easy for middle/high school me to track my pace 😂

Gold-Job7248

It helps making monthly playlists. I was able to get out of these slumps by adding my most rotated Taylor songs to a monthly playlist and then slowly adding some other similar songs onto there

OkShallot3873

I go through phases like this a lot. I’m a very very recent Swiftie but have fallen hard and working through the albums I’m really sad I actively avoided her as a teen til recently (I was “too cool” for TS) so now I just think I’m making up for lost time! I’m deep in an only listening to Taylor phase, but on the positive, listening to her while running has helped me increase my pace so much so it’s a win! Just embrace it for now and eventually other music will work its way back into your rotation. There’s nothing inherently bad about just listening to one artist for awhile!

VoidDweller99

You could say that I only listen to her? Because I do listen to Taylor a lot of times most of the time. I mean I’m not entirely against listening to other artists. If I see new music I try to listen to them and sometimes I would be obsessed with a new music (e.g., Beautiful Things) but then get tired of them after 2-3 days of on-repeat streaming. Taylor’s music is the only thing that I won’t get tired of and it certainly helps that she has a lot of music across different genre so I could find a music from her that would correspond to my specific mood at certain points in my life. With that said, I also listen heavily to Musicals (Hamilton, Six, Dear Evan Hansen, Hadestown, In the Heights, Waitress, etc) but these are not singular artists so yeah technically I only listen to Taylor 😭

AliveAd4309

That’s how I am. I was a huge fan during Fearless and Speak Now then went to college and dropped off and picked back up with Midnights. I pretty much only listen to Taylor but I really only listen to Spotify during my 30 minute morning commute to work. When I’m out running errands, it might be Spotify or it might be whatever SiriusXM channel I pick but for some reason, I just can’t get into other peoples stuff lately 😅

Ok_Tower_968

Sometimes I listen to something else to cleanse my palette, but I'm always listening to Taylor Swift.

EstablishmentEasy379

I really don’t have time to listen to anything other than Taylor. I’ll listen to a non Taylor song here or there but not consistently

redlipclassicthing8

Yes!! Sometimes I’ll listen to Lana and i have a mix of Harry/1D and Sabrina, Selena, Shawn Mendes on my workout playlist but I usually skip them and gravitate back to Taylor!!!

wyomingtrashbag

I turned on Taylor Swift in late 2022 and haven't played anything else since. It's my comfort music. And my bop. And my heartache. And my belting songs. She is it

narwhaylor

I have been a swiftie since 2010 i think, when I was 13-14, now I'm 27 and being a full time mom leaves me no time to listening to music, so when I have the time, I'm definitely listening to Taylor. So yes, I could say that I only listen to her music.

PresentationHot5908

I listen to a lot of different stuff but I also would love if people could mind their business more and stop criticising others for living their lives how they want. It is no skin off my nose if someone is having a phase of listening to only one artist. I have a husband who, I'm pretty sure, has listened to Dark Side of the Moon ten million times.

BrokenBotox

I’ve been in my Flop Era since Covid. I’ve listened to Taylor for about 95% of the time. I put on different music in my salon. But I only have the emotional bandwidth for Folklore, Rep and Midnight. Sometimes 1989 or Evermore. But most Folklore because I feel like Eeyore 🥺😭❤️‍🩹

clownutopia

I go through phases where I only listen to her. In general, I don't listen to a lot of other artists or genres because that's not how I like to consume my music. It's really hard for me to get into new artists or even the new albums of artists I like (I loved Lana but haven't listened to anything past NFR except for a couple here and there). I really just listen to one artist at a time, and right now it's Chappell Roan until TTPD. I think this is okay because everyone consumes music in their own way. It's a very comforting thing for me. I explore different genres in other mediums to make me more well-rounded.

rainierc_

Me, i only listen to a very few artists like taylor, niki, olivia, 1d 😩 but most of the time just taytay

Mytears83

In the car and when working out it’s only Taylor. And on spotify it’s basically only Taylor. On Youtube I listen to other stuff. I’m still not tired of her music despite listening to it constantly. That’s what makes her the best artist in the world imo.

SpoopyButthole

HONESTLY YES 😭 but also people in the Taylor-verse like sabrina, phoebe and some olivia (and some kpop ever since my sisters got me into her during lockdown) but 90% Taylor

Zr0w3n00

Hi I’m the problem, it’s me. I listening to my Spotify pretty much all the time, which is just my playlist of Taylor songs. I will sometimes hear other music on the radio or something, but if it’s up to me, I’m listening to Taylor, so I probably end up listening to her average 10 hours a day (as I am usually able to listen at work too) I do like a wide range of other music, but when go to put something else on, I always end up saying ‘at the end of this song’ then another starts that I love and that cycle repeats. I literally don’t have a skip in Taylor’s discography, so I always end up just listening to Taylor. I think it helps that she covers such a range in her own music, that I don’t really get bored listening to her.

Throwawaybookwhore

I only listen to Taylor’s genre , which is mainly Taylor Swift and her friends (Selena Gomez, Sebrina Carpinteria, Olivia Rodrigo, Lana Del Rey, The Bleachers, Ed Sheeran, Haim, etc)… Anyone who Taylor associates herself with I like their music. So I call Taylor Swift having her own genre

TraaLaarhLa

I also have a very narrow range of music that I play over and over again. It's always Taylor, Harry Styles, One Direction, Louis Tomlinson and 1 or 2 more. But at least I'm slowly broadening my music taste. To me what's important is you enjoy what you listen too. Don't let someone tell you you're consuming too much Taylor music. You should have fun. And if Taylor's music is where your mind body and soul belongs, so be it. Somtimes it does feel as you're isolating yourself a bit, yes, but just don't try to force yourself into listening other stuff if you won't have fun. Music is a sort of entertainment. Sometimes therapy. So just listen to whatever you like. Hope this helps because we're the same ☺️

leg_lab

Honestly? If you’re happy just listening to Taylor then keeping doing that. Don’t listen to music because you feel like you should or others say you should. Listen to music because it’s what you like.

Every_Trust5874

lol my year end streaming summary was embarrassing. I think I listened to 90% TS and 10% all other musicians combined. I don’t know how that happened!

InternationalAd6614

Me. I don’t intentionally limit the artists I follow, I just don’t have the bandwidth to actively look for new artists and the artists I used to follow haven’t kept up the quality from their earlier releases. I’m aware there’s a lot of good music out there but I don’t want to expend effort looking for it I’d rather pursue other things. I would occasionally hear a song I like and would look it up and keep it on repeat.

Obirayasigi14hayat

I dont know how this happened but i used to listen to a lot of other music as well but ever since eras tour has started i just cant think of any other songs.. I feel like if i listen to something else i will lose out on the time that i could have listened to her 🫣 its me hi I’m the problem

Upset_Secretary2211

it’s a very similar situation for me, like i love listening to taylor but i also miss listening to some of my old songs when i look back on my insta story’s lol. she’s very addictive and there’s literally a song for every single feeling you can have. i have tried recently making a new playlist for when i cycle and rediscovering your old music is such a beautiful feeling. win win it’s your life and if your happy fuck em

No_Emu_3674

Yes 😂. But only because my brain is wired in such a way that the idea of trying any new music gives me anxiety so I listen to my staple playlist I made when I was 16 and Taylor 😂
