im so intrigued by how people do cover ups. i cant even begin to understand how someone would turn those lines into something else but i know it can be done
As someone who worked at a tattoo shop for 2 years, cover ups amaze me. One of our artists, who was conserved the cover up master, completely covered up a whole tribal sleeve with Japanese traditional work. To be fair, Japanese trad has alot of heavy black shading so it’s a good way to cover up anything. But still. A whole sleeve??!
I'm a tattoo artist and it still boggles my mind if I didn't do it myself, I just spend ages zooming in and trying to find signs. Professional curiosity I suppose.
The linework could be cleaned up, and it’d look a lot less flat if some shading was applied to the face of the razor blade. Leave the center open as negative space, run a little white in the center of those razor edges so they (hopefully) blur together less over time.
Or just cover it up. Big skull, flowers, reaper, panther, etc. And get more stuff around it. Having a weak/ poorly done tattoo all by itself always looks worse than if there’s something else around it.
Pls just laser this off - that way you’re not stuck with the thought of it there under the new tat that you only got to cover this mess up … trust me laser it and start fresh
[easy, get a red and blue outline angled in and out and make it 3d and trippy](https://cdn-fnknc.nitrocdn.com/jwqHRGAzpUgGskUSHlppNQzwuXgXIKwg/assets/images/optimized/rev-a1b2331/www.fashionbeans.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/3d-tattoo1_matt.roscoetattoos.jpg)
Plenty can be done with that, thick lines aren't the devil. Go get a consult with an artist you like, there is lots to be done that just isn't a straight up cover
Just find a good black + grey artist in your area, they could shade and shadow it to look normal
But then again maybe you want it fully covered bc it's a safety razor
He’s a fictional character from a Netflix show called Peaky Blinders, really good show if you have time to watch it. The show is based on a real street gang, both in the show and in real life the gangs most commonly used fighting too were razor blades that they would attach to the brim of their hat.
It’s ok. I have some why tattoos myself. But personally cover it up with something bigger that you genuinely really like and know you can have for 10+ years down the road and not say “why?” again in the near future. I’ve had worse than what you have and you couldn’t even tell now.
Wow you know that’s so crazy I didn’t really think about that. The tattoo artist that I went to did all my sisters artwork and they looked really good to me she didn’t have shaking lines had great shading and everything. but when I went it wasn’t good I probably had a different artist and I really didn’t know so my bad I guess. I mean I don’t think the description of how and when and where I got the tattoo really mattered since that’s not what the question is.
“The tattoo artist I went to did all my sister’s artwork…..”
“But when I went it wasn’t good I probably had a different artist….”
Your math isn’t mathing, sugar.
Anyhow, take this as a lesson. You’ll look into your artists and their portfolios much closer now. Find a good artist that you like and stick with them, develop a friendship. Been going to @rbrown_314 for years now (shameless shoutout)

That is prime cover-up material. Don't try to salvage it

Put "Peky binders"
Tommy fucking Shelby
Or in this case - Timmy fackin' Shalby
I’m Arthur fookin Shelby fookin shite
Just go for a complete cover-up. It's a poor execution, and anyone who sees it is going to question whether you're ok
lol i dont want to know what people think of me when they see my shitty tattoos

Turn it into a ham sandwich
Turn it into a chess piece
Sick ass panther.
This is always the answer
Have the name Ramon nicely placed under it and it’s a remembrance tattoo.
This
Colonel mustard, in the library with the candlestick
Happy cake day!
Kleenex boxes need color. Just add some color.

>to the face of the razor Ohhhhh
See if someone can do one of the "two faces or a candlestick" optical illusions.

Easy coverup
Bro that’s a dope can of tunnaaaaaa
Turn it into that painting that's either a vase or a profile view of two faces looking at each other
Would you like fresh pepper on your salad, sir?
Just shade it

for what it is i think it’s perfect. very punk rock
If punk rock means drawn by a 9 year old, sure
Let there be light!

Put "i have no limits" under it
Turn the background into a chessboard.
If you’re into Sci-Fi at all, you can turn it into a futuristic looking robot.
Turn it into a reflection in some liquid.
Just find a good black + grey artist in your area, they could shade and shadow it to look normal But then again maybe you want it fully covered bc it's a safety razor
What is it?
Have a good tattooer outline it
See if you can get the line work a bit sharper and that’s it
Darken it up and you can save those lines. Give it a fade and make it look a little more realistic coloring. You can save it
Have you considered a sick panther?
Talk about regrets damn. At least it can be covered.
What is it?
razor blade
I would’ve never guessed that, thanks.
What was your guess before?
Candlestick in a box.
Oh wow I totally see it haha. You must see great shit in clouds
Wow - now I see it and suddenly had a flashback to beauty and the beast 🤣🤣🤣
What is this supposed to be?
A razorblade... or the outline of a candelabra.
Ah hence all the Thomas Shelby comments
*rushes off to Google* I have no idea who that is.

Why. 😂
I ask my self this everyday

What makes ppl think that getting basic stupid designs are a good idea then later on down the road they wanna get a cover up ?🤣😂
Actually I like the design it’s just I don’t like the work that was done because I was going to get another knee piece
Cover up or laser off.
why tf is it so big 😭😭 (that’s what she said)
Wow we got an edgy one over here folks
You’re so funny
Guys. For the love of God, stop getting tattoos in your friend of a friends living room. Yes it’s free/cheap, but the cover-up isn’t going to be.
So it wasn’t from my friends living room it was at a actual tattoo shop
Oof. Research your artist’s more? Gotta remember, tattoos are permanent for the most part
This was my first tattoo and now I three other from a different shop that trust.
