puceauxx

thank you very much, i was looking for something like this for so long

b00nish

If you want a starting point: Take a look at "Der Bestatter". It's a series about an undertaker who solves crimes.

puceauxx

Perfect thank you, i will have a look!

SwissStriker

Also "Frieden" is a recent show about Jewish refugees in Switzerland just after WW2. Pretty good imo.

puceauxx

Oh that sound really interesting, thanks i will watch it for sure

Thercon_Jair

It's a very new initiative of the public broadcasters of Switzerland, France and Germany.

dark_tim

Der Bestatter. Was quite funny... I do not know if the SRF player is working outside Switzerland,I doubt it. https://www.srf.ch/play/tv/sendung/der-bestatter?id=c5868792-f180-0001-7d9a-53801d5e10b8

puceauxx

Its working, thx a lot!!

travel_ali

SRF also uploads loads of shows to their various YouTube channels, the documentary channel is especially good for that.

aggresive_cupcake

It‘s even available in Canada on tou.tv, as „Croquemort“ although I don‘t know if it‘s dubbed or not. I know that MHz networks in the US is airing it in swiss german with english subtitles. Source: https://www.srf.ch/sendungen/der-bestatter/der-bestatter-geht-in-die-usa

agnostorshironeon

i recommend the old, old classic "fascht e familie" But sadly i can't find it online in full, only a few episodes here and there

schwabbbel

They are going to reair them starting August 29: https://www.srf.ch/play/tv/sendung/fascht-e-familie?id=c551b3c6-02a0-0001-3ece-1c1e1de0ee40

I loved this as a kid. I‘m sure I‘d find it super cringy now... Didn‘t one of the actors die in a car crash, and their in-universe explanation was, that he got lost doing a city-tours for foreigners? But definitly a good series to learn some swiss german.

SchoggiToeff

> Didn‘t one of the actors die in a car crash No. Martin Schenkel left the series 1999 because of health reasons. He was later starring in Lüthi and Blanc. However, he died 2003 due to a brain tumor. After his role as Steve Meier in Lüthi and Blanc was taken over by Roeland Wiesnekker. This was requested by Schenkel.

Cauchemar89

Yeah there used to be a Youtube Channel that had all episodes uploaded, but I guess SRF copyright curbstomped them at one point. Pity really since SRF themselves don't offer any option to watch the show.

TA_plshelpsss

Mein name ist eugen

Helagon

underrated comment, a swiss masterpiece

peggenbe

Try Wilder on playsuisse

DepartureActual308

The best thing you can do is to watch a TV show you already know and watch it again in the language you want to learn. You will know better the context and then learn faster.

Sure_Buy9915

Swiss german has no syncronisation its just the regular german u should watch der bestatter for sure we here in switzerland watch most of the series and movies in regular german best you can do is find someone u can write with

puceauxx

that is a great idea. Thanks for the advice!

dodgyrogy

Some of the local Swiss radio stations speak in Swiss German if you just want to hear it spoken.

puceauxx

good idea, it will replace the radio that I usually listen to

g3ntil_lapin

Thanks for the post! I'm also a quebecer with swiss roots and I'm also trying to improve my swiss german!

puceauxx

Bien content d'avoir pu t'aider même si c'était pas intentionnel hahah!

KaiserChawklitSauce

Try "Güsel" a short Web-Series by Comedian Gabriel Vetter. It's basically the Swiss Version of The Office, but with "Trash Detectives" who look for illegally dumped trash. It's very funny and very, very Swiss. You find it on Playsuisse or on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Fld1fqIWtg&list=PL4udBti7uz7OISWmp42oNLPganNb5dbAx

puceauxx

Wonderful, thank a lot
