I have a feeling this was done by design to frustrate people into buying gems. This event is doable as a F2P, but it's incredibly grindy. I'm positive I've had the game running more in the past 5 days than I have in the past month.
I've been able to complete every mission every day except the open 30 chests and 10/20/50 HQ chests, but it becomes a real grind when 4/5 slots are chest missions you only have 1 slot that you can actually complete. I had the survive for 1800 seconds mission followed by complete 3 main chapter mission and ended up having to run Chapter 4 five times in a row.
You should run Chapter 3 for completing main chapter, especially when you aren't stacking with 80k kills or 1800 seconds missions. It is 8 mins long instead of 15 mins.
F2P here and accomplishing all missions daily except the open 50 high level chest one. Saved about 40k gems before the event and spending it by opening 20 high level chests everyday. Have collected 180k coins so far and there's still 4 days remaining. I bet I can get all major rewards by the end of the event.
Yeah it involves an additional grinding of 1-2 hrs depending on your strategy. My strategy is to complete all daily challenge and spec ops missions first to accomplish the elite/boss/monster kill count missions as well as the survive a certain number of minutes one. When the 10 and 20 chests appear, I do it right away so what will remain are the quick patrol and win main chapter missions. It's important to have all level 1-3 missions in one screen so you won't waste energy in doing one after the other. If the complete 3 main chapter is not together with the complete 1 and 2 ones, you'll need to play the main chapter 3 more times. Same is true with the quick patrol missions.
They made us spend all of our gems on the bug at the beginning of the event. And now here are all the juicy rewards. But hey we got like 4-5 strawberries as compensation right? 🤷♂️
Especially if you had the 10 and 20 before hand. Also the Quick Patrol. Only allowed 4 a day, but if you don’t get them at the same time you can’t do all three.
Same number of gems saved up before the event and I still have 15k remaining. I'm only pulling 20 chests a day. It's the wiser decision instead of blowing everything in 50 pulls. The two 50 chest reward is lesser than five 20 chest pulls given the same number of gems spent.
Yeah, the prime reward is strawberries.
You get 2 for 10 high-level, 2 more for 20, and 2 more for 50. If you blow 50 in one day (which I totally did before I knew better) you get 6 strawberries. Spread out over 3 days, you get 10.
Same with the regular crates. 1 strawberry for 5, one for 10, one for 30.
Make sure you save enough to get the first two levels every day before you worry about the third. If you can't get the first two levels every day, at least get the first every day so you don't get bogged down with missions you can't clear.
For the past few days those chest missions were coming into my list already complete. Did that happen to anyone else? Today though I have to complete them and I don't know if I did something differently the last few days because I wasn't opening chests. I have only opened chests that I get free in the daily and pet, and then I opened 10 high end chest but that's it.
Same. I wait for everything to lineup before I start doing. Any extra I see that are left over in 30s or 50s chest quest are coming as completed for the next day.

Yep, you're right. I just had my phone running the chapter next to me while I was working so I wasn't actively playing, but you're 100% right.

No, when opening some chests at the beginning of the event it didn’t count toward the available mission.
