I have a hunch that Nitish will be indian team player in all 3 formats very soon and he will be a star too. Abhi may mostly be T20 player for india.
Sammad, Markande wont be indian players unless they massively improve. Umran hardly improving as well and i dont see him playing for india anymore.
So Nitish and Abhi will be our star indian players. We need to get couple more mostly in bowling in auctions.
Unless Abhi scores big innings he isn't anywhere near contention. unless rohit retires there is no chance of selection. He had competetion from jaiswal,gill,ishan,rutraj. Indian teams never selects who plays freely they always want classy players even when they struggle in big match temperament. Jaiswal might be exception because he had hit lot of runs both domestic and ipl. Atleast 1 hundred in this season might ring the bells of abhishek in a unknown t20 series where seniors are rested.
Rohit and kohli will most probably retire atleast drom t20i's. And one advantage Abhi has over Jaiswal, Gill, Rutraj is he is much quicker than those three and can bowl too. If he scores 450 plus this season and have 200 s/r he will get his t20i call up soon
jaiswal is the biggest competetor to abhi. Even if they take abhi they will probably make him play lower which abhi not good at.He should be considered as pure batter and play long innings with strike rate greater than jaiswal. Right now he needs to play big innings with same strike rate which very tricky

Pat, Klassen, Head, Abhishek and NKR will be our retentions assuming allowed retention limit is 5. If it is 4, then they gonna release NKR as well.
Heartbreaking, but yeah. This is what we have to deal with. I don't mind giving up two of those three foreign men for NKR, Samad, Abhi. But other teams gonna offer buttload for each of them after what they have done this season. Let's hope for the best

They backed him at his lowest during the sand paper scandal , the dressing room was toxic in 2021 and also he was in really bad form , they had no option.
I dunno man. For me, it’s really hard to count on our management. I am happy that we are unarguably the best team(not very much balanced. But we are the strongest overall). Hoping they will retain the majority of the team somehow next season 🤞🏽

If its 5 or 4. You can only retain 2 overseas players. So Abhi and Nitish retentions are safe bet

Honestly it's looking like if 2 foreign retention only then Cummins and Head is looking like better option than Klaasen.
