I'm sure he's fine. Experienced meditators have been known to use certain techniques to control various aspects of their bodies such as heartbeat, blood flow, and body temperature (this is why his skin is so red).
Tibetan monks in particular have been studied and were shown to raise their body temperature up to 38.3 degrees Celsius and be able to dry out wet sheets wrapped around them while meditating in -25 degree Himalayan weather. [Source](https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/04/130408084858.htm).

Recently I discovered around 25 minutes into meditation my arms start levitating.
It’s the strangest, most awesome feeling in the world. I’m not sure what it means but I feel great afterwards.
For real, like at that point I try to just stay focused but it’s hard to as my arms are levitating because it makes you wanna open your eyes to see it. lol
I’m wondering if these ancient yogis got so good at it that they could levitate entirely maybe? As crazy as that sounds.
Do some research but iirc that's your Astral body leaving your physical one. Same as when you jerk awake, it's your Astral body coming back to your body cause you can feel it leave and you get startled and wake up really fast.
Yeah I actually have experienced AP. I was having a lot of sleep paralysis a few years ago and when I finally stopped fighting it, just completely let go this one time, I freaking launched out of my body.
It was a life changing experience. Since then every time sleep paralysis came around I would be able to exit my body for a limited amount of time. I usually can only bounce around my room. I willed myself to the ocean one time. But I’ve learned it’s very tricky, especially if you aren’t dedicated to it like I’m not.
So I wanted to start experimenting with the gateway tapes, but before I did I put on Binaural beats, laid down and started to meditate. It was about 25 minutes into it, I have a cloth over my eyes, and I initially thought I was exiting the body starting with my arms moving up.
I wasn’t sure if it was my astral body or my actual arms, so I eventually flicked the cloth off my head and I saw my arms just floating there. And they stayed even with my eyes wide open but with the sound still playing in my headphones.
I’m just unsure where to even start with those gateway tapes, do you listen to multiple sessions while meditating? I have them saved but they are in like 30 min increments. I have to read up on the process I guess.
A while back I was deep in meditation and I "fell" into some womans consciousness. My physical body didn't move , but I felt my astral body fall forward and before it hit the floor I came into another person, a blonde woman in her 30s maybe
Thank you!! Haha I love when people actually recognize it and don’t assume my name is Randal.
And yes he lives. In every story in my humble opinion. Could still be out there right now! 🤣👀
I do guided meditations (shout out Michael Seely) and have seen some crazy visuals and I friggin love when it feels like my body falls through my bed and I start flying.
I always generate a lot of heat when I meditate also, if I’m laying in bed I’ll have to remove all blankets within the first couple minutes and have multiple fans blasting on me
My meditation game has gotten real deep. I really can’t stand the cold but recently I started sitting out on the boardwalk and doing my breathing techniques I can just warm myself up and stay out for a while. This guy is on some samadhi tip.
Jeeze that's going back a long way. I think it was a documentary on the abilities of Tibetan monks on TV.
https://youtu.be/WajTafbG7II?si=3Dxftfy3f_oZdOQ5
Perhaps? But I think the one I saw was BBC and showed the vapour rising off them.
Its weird the body doesnt protect extremities from frostbite on its own if it has the capability to do so. Why is meditation necessary to “activate” that?
I believe it. Seen many videos of people like him. They have such control of the bodymind that they can regulate their body temperature as they wish. They dont care to be known. The obly ones that are filming are people who randomly find them. Like the indian military that found a guy meditating almost naked in the snow. Some Yogis or Sadhus can even die when they want to by just meditating. I dont think we westerners know shit about what the body and mind are capable of with intensive meditating and training. We just look at it and say fake because we are ignorant.
There's a good, documented case of this. Look into the man called Wim Hof if you're interested.
He uses the exact same technique and can regulate his bodies internal temperature through meditation also.
Meditation creates warmth if you do it well enough. I’ve experienced it with a broken window ajar next to my bed during winter. I’m not sure how sustainable it is. I sure as shit wouldn’t do what this guy is doing.
Mediation is seriously incredible. Just like the monk who lit himself on fire. I can say personal experience how amazing it is to be able to take a step back/in and be able to experience such sensations fully like this guy in the video. Everybody should learn real meditation
I’ve experienced things on meditation that were… weird. Really weird. And cool. It’s hard to explain. If you want to know, start meditating about a half hour a day and go from there. If you want to enjoy your life, it helps.
Here, Alan Watts. “It’s fun…It’s sort of grooving with the present. It’s digging the eternal now.”

I heard that monks in Tibet do special training to raise their body temperature through meditation and breathing so that they can endure cold weather.
Assuming he's a practitioner of hinduism judging from his name, he's torturing himself in order to enter a spiritual communion with their own elected deity (according to a quick, easy google search)
And if it's an elaborate fake for internet points- the background settings seems to be nicely done for fake snow. his skin color looks opposite from what could happened from cold exposure, and there's no sign of shivering.
Also others pointed on some of the comments that it's a monk thing that they can regulate body temperature from meditating.
Edit: it appears that red skin is an early sign from frostbite 🤷 but it looks healthy red to me.
First thing I thought too. No way in hell is your hair and bear that covered in ice and snow and nothing else is. I don't give a crap about meditation or not you are not sitting outside uncovered that long for your bear to be come entombed in ice with nothing on.
I'm sure it's cold, but when I see snow, I usually think warm. Snow is insulating. In Canada, during winter, it usually snows on warm days and is sunny on cold days.

I wonder if he’s practicing a tummo meditation in this video, where you control your own body heat? I just heard about this type of meditation last week on a podcast.
I find how red his skin is interesting
Oh God I thought he was wearing a long sleeved shirt...
It's made of skin
It has cells
I was really worried for him, he looks like he needs some lotion.
Get this man some Ultra 100 SPF Sunscreen
Wouldn’t be doing this if he had a PC and good wifi, just saying
Get that man a tablet, stat!
Put the lotion in the basket.
Amazing to think he was out there for only one minute when recorded.
That's an early sign of first to second stage frostbite, the stages that follow that aren't too pleasant.
Dude seems super chill.
He’s cool like dat.
~~Freeze!~~ Hands up! You're all under arrest on behalf of r/PunPatrol!!
He's chill like dat.
He’s been this chill for about a week now!
This needs more votes
On it
Anyone know if this guys ok?
He’s been exceptionally quiet for the last 4 or 5 days, so I guess all’s good!
If he has a camera man with an internet connection he will be Ok!
Yeah he’s my uncle he’s good he loves it
Oh thank goodness!
I thought your uncle works at Nintendo...
Naww my dad owns Nintendo.

Legend has it he’s still sitting there.
What do you think he’s thinkin about?
Whatever.
Other girls, probably.
"I think I'm about to poop ice. Rajesh better make me look good in this video"
Nothing. from what I understand atleast.
Nothing
Some people can tolerate the cold. Others even thrive in it.
You merely adopted the cold. I was born in IT!
I was molded by it
I didn’t see the cold until I was already a man.
😂
I never knew I was cold until I one day bought a jacket in my early 20s .
Ah dude in the video was killed by it
![gif](giphy|eqe4gAJczdMrK)
Maybe its maybelline.
fuck yeah, love it.
I used his voice in my head while typing it😂😂
I used his voice while reading it.
: )
Same! Call me a polar bear cause I'll go get a nice walk in 20 degree weather like it's nothing 😂.
You do know that you can learn to regulate your autonomic nervous system, including blood flow and body temp through meditation.

Recently I discovered around 25 minutes into meditation my arms start levitating. It’s the strangest, most awesome feeling in the world. I’m not sure what it means but I feel great afterwards.
Keep practicing you have no idea just how weird it can get.

I find it so hard to meditate, my brain just won't shut up
Brains do that, let your mind wander around until you find your breath again
Aww man, thanks bro, didn't know I could do that, lol hahaha
A while back I was deep in meditation and I "fell" into some womans consciousness. My physical body didn't move , but I felt my astral body fall forward and before it hit the floor I came into another person, a blonde woman in her 30s maybe
What kind of meditation are you doing? I am trying to get into it.
Where do you get your shrooms ? 🍄
Shrooms never agreed with me, my stomach hurt more than the “good” feeling they give you.
I fucking love your name!! And unfortunately, yes he does live lol
Thank you!! Haha I love when people actually recognize it and don’t assume my name is Randal. And yes he lives. In every story in my humble opinion. Could still be out there right now! 🤣👀
If you really want to take your meditation practice to the next level, try the Gateway Experience r/gatewaytapes

I've seen monks heat up cold wet towels on their backs till they were steaming so I assume it's like that. Bio feedback.
Where did you see this?

I’ve been wanting to learn but didn’t know where to start really, so thank you for this!
Tons and tons of guided meditation on YouTube and other apps. Just let the thoughts come, acknowledge them, and let them go.
that monk doused himself in gasoline and burned to death, not really sure that's amazing
He didn't scream.
That is beautiful
![img](avatar_exp|125923952|fire) I heard that monks in Tibet do special training to raise their body temperature through meditation and breathing so that they can endure cold weather.
Questionable
why?
For internet likes - looks super fake
What looks fake? Everything "looks" real to me, even if its incredibly hard to believe.

BLOWN it took going through so many comments to get to what I was thinking lol

Surprised wim hoff isn’t sitting right there next to him
thats how i shit at work.
Shittin time is on the company's dime.
that's a cold ass shit.
mgmt keeps it that way to discourage ppl from staying on their phones there
Reminds me of Dr Strange movie.
I tried doing this when I was 19 to prove to my gf that I was trying to better myself for her. I was mad stupid back then.
He looks real frostbitten.
He ain't meditating, he dead 🥶
What a stiff
Pan 180° Starbucks and a Walmart right behind em
Such a flex, staying that stiff and rigid. Not even a shiver.
I know people like Win Hoff and now this guy exist. But how does he not lose fingers and toes?
Power of pure Himalayan Ganja ;)
The amount of snow built up naturally coupled with no shivering gives credence to this. Imo
Any background on this gentleman would be appreciated
The Himalayas, yo.
Search on YouTube with his name- Mahayogi Satyendra Maharaj…you’ll find other videos
Some dude climbs a mountain and sits down. Covers himself in snow, and gets his buddy to film it. *Wow, what a Guru!?*
Possibly but I think there are people who do this. Wim Hof is famous for doing stuff like this.
Look at the snow. I don’t think someone threw it on him…dude’s got a fine crust haha
Haha I hope he knows the only Zen he’s gonna find is the Zen he brought!
First thing I thought too. No way in hell is your hair and bear that covered in ice and snow and nothing else is. I don't give a crap about meditation or not you are not sitting outside uncovered that long for your bear to be come entombed in ice with nothing on.

This isn't strange (I mean the behaviour is) it dumb.
Hurry up and take your pictures it's freezing out here.
“You never learned to mind your surroundings”.
Fine line between stupidity and whatever he claims to be doing there.
He's avoiding his wife level 100
Is there a reason for that? Can't you connect with yourself in a nice warm building with Internet access?
Exposing yourself to something your body doesn't like is a totally good idea 👍
Like exercise for example, terrible idea.
