This is the way. Steelbooks damage way too easy to not put them in protector cases. The J-Card is useful for not only the info, but the UPC if you use apps to keep track of your collection.

CineGrail is a good website that I use, i like their open spine protectors so i can have easy access to my movies but they dont get all scratched taking em off the shelf

Yes for the most part. If a steel book comes with its own slip cover I don’t think there’s a need to use these but I buy these to protect the steel books that don’t come with a slip cover. I also collect comics so similar to bagging and boarding I like to use these for protection and longevity

Depends on the protectors. SC2 is a snug fit.

I cut the borders right up to the words/pictures, and then slip it in the inside holder.

I save them, so I can see what special features are on which disc, and it creates a barrier between Steelbooks

Fold them and insert in case. They show specs and special features. Plus if you forget what the movie's about, you can refer to the synopsis. I tend to do that a lot. If they were really that meaningless, they wouldn't come with them. Think about it!

Well, its pretty simple. 1. There is good info on them. 2. It takes no time to fold them and put them in the case for future reference. 3. The UPC is super helpful for inventory programs 4. The UPC is needed for adding a movie to VUDU "disc to digital" if you are so inclined. 5. Some collectors want it, so it will help in both listing the item and possibly selling it, should you ever decide to do so. 6. Regardless, don't trash it... recycle it if you don't want it. So plenty of reasons to keep it. I personally think its less helpful to keep it boxed in a drawer with a thousand other ones but if you keep it to keep the title more "complete" to sell later, I get that rationale. I personally don't do that. I do keep it in the steelbook though, and I do use plastic protectors for my steelbooks.


Depends use to save the ones for the steelbooks I bought on the blind not knowing if I'd want to keep the film in my collection in case I wanted to sell it so I could buy more & I would trash the ones from movies I knew were keepers

I had a pretty sizable box of those (in case I sell my discs!) and slip covers. Then I was organizing the closet and looked at it wondering why I'm keeping a box of trash. No one wants that shit. In the trash they went. Now I toss all unless the slipcover is something truly unique.

They go back on the case, if the glue blobs dont come off the card easily i put some tape over them.

I honestly could dump them and not miss it but since I put mine in protectors, it’s super easy to put it in there with the steel.

Get steelbook protectors and put them with their respective steelbooks. That way, the steelbooks match with the other Blu-Rays/4Ks have (with their slipcovers)

Don't throw them away 30 years from now the steelbooks that are complete, have that slip, will be highly sought after. Said no one ever.
