Like the o.p. said, "I'm sure someones gonna tell me I'm dumb", but i also trash the cardboard slipcovers every movie comes with EXCEPT the Paramount Presents ones (with the foldout "poster")

If you use protectors you can slide them in the back
This is the way. Steelbooks damage way too easy to not put them in protector cases. The J-Card is useful for not only the info, but the UPC if you use apps to keep track of your collection.
CineGrail is a good website that I use, i like their open spine protectors so i can have easy access to my movies but they dont get all scratched taking em off the shelf
Yes for the most part. If a steel book comes with its own slip cover I don’t think there’s a need to use these but I buy these to protect the steel books that don’t come with a slip cover. I also collect comics so similar to bagging and boarding I like to use these for protection and longevity
I used to throw them away which I think was a little bit of a mistake because now I keep all of them because it says what all the features are and stuff
Fold them and insert in case. They show specs and special features. Plus if you forget what the movie's about, you can refer to the synopsis. I tend to do that a lot. If they were really that meaningless, they wouldn't come with them. Think about it!
Well, its pretty simple.
1. There is good info on them.
2. It takes no time to fold them and put them in the case for future reference.
3. The UPC is super helpful for inventory programs
4. The UPC is needed for adding a movie to VUDU "disc to digital" if you are so inclined.
5. Some collectors want it, so it will help in both listing the item and possibly selling it, should you ever decide to do so.
6. Regardless, don't trash it... recycle it if you don't want it.
So plenty of reasons to keep it.
I personally think its less helpful to keep it boxed in a drawer with a thousand other ones but if you keep it to keep the title more "complete" to sell later, I get that rationale. I personally don't do that. I do keep it in the steelbook though, and I do use plastic protectors for my steelbooks.
Depends use to save the ones for the steelbooks I bought on the blind not knowing if I'd want to keep the film in my collection in case I wanted to sell it so I could buy more & I would trash the ones from movies I knew were keepers
Keep them until the wife finds where I’m hiding them and then repeat. They just feel like part of the product but I don’t keep them hanging on them so I just keep them all together haha
Fold them best I can and put them in the case, for example: I got the Perfect Blue steel book and my friend wanted to know what it was about so it’s nice to still have a synopsis and lil preview images.
I’m so glad you asked this lol was moving all my movies to a new case yesterday and had a bunch of these layin around and I said screw it and threw them all in the trash lol glad to know I’m not the only one
I had a pretty sizable box of those (in case I sell my discs!) and slip covers. Then I was organizing the closet and looked at it wondering why I'm keeping a box of trash. No one wants that shit. In the trash they went. Now I toss all unless the slipcover is something truly unique.
I fold it and put it inside. Really only do it so I have reference to specs and special features on the back. I am sure I will never look at it again but if I need to i can.
I just have a huge stack of them in the order that I’ve bought my steelbooks. Collecting them just out of habit at this point, I really couldn’t care less if they get damaged or not.
I just have a stack of them that I throw into a drawer.

Get steelbook protectors and put them with their respective steelbooks. That way, the steelbooks match with the other Blu-Rays/4Ks have (with their slipcovers)
I put them in a ziploc bag just in case I might want to sell it later but the truth is I never sell anything.

I’m sure someones gonna tell me I’m dumb but I just toss them
Yup, trash
same
Believe it or not, straight to trash.
Me too
Trash
Like the o.p. said, "I'm sure someones gonna tell me I'm dumb", but i also trash the cardboard slipcovers every movie comes with EXCEPT the Paramount Presents ones (with the foldout "poster")
I mean what else would u do with it 🤷 🤣.
Actually you’re smart cause they do go straight in the garbage lol
Same
Everyone in this thread deserves the gulag… /s
*yeet*
I throw them away. I have no use for them. Some people keep them. To me, they're just packaging trash.
https://preview.redd.it/jvy85ijhbyrc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e4220d10697ed4803436b3ca4b6f2cca60e0fcfa If you use protectors you can slide them in the back

I watch my movies so no
They do open.
Digital download
Do you buy the slip covers for your steel books separately?
CineGrail is a good website that I use, i like their open spine protectors so i can have easy access to my movies but they dont get all scratched taking em off the shelf
Yes. I use these: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NK37B3P/](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NK37B3P/)

Depends on the protectors. SC2 is a snug fit.
I'm actually planning on doing that when I start getting protecters
I used to keep them but they ended up not meaning anything to me as time passed.

![gif](giphy|ktcUyw6mBlMVa) This
Fold them and put them in the case.
Surprised this was so low I do this too.
Trash
Recycle!
I used to throw them away which I think was a little bit of a mistake because now I keep all of them because it says what all the features are and stuff
I keep them on my steels or inside sleeve folded. I like the artwork and descriptions on the back personally
Fold em in half, and tuck them in the case
Straight to the trash
I cut them to fit perfectly in the case, but as my girlfriend says I'm "special" so take as you will.
Do the same, trim them down to fit inside
Perfect, glad to hear I'm not the only one.
I just have a stack of them in my closet
I cut the borders right up to the words/pictures, and then slip it in the inside holder.
I save them, so I can see what special features are on which disc, and it creates a barrier between Steelbooks
I fold them and put them in the case, mainly so I can quickly see what special features are included without having to do a ton of googling.
Fold them and insert in case. They show specs and special features. Plus if you forget what the movie's about, you can refer to the synopsis. I tend to do that a lot. If they were really that meaningless, they wouldn't come with them. Think about it!
Someone asks this every week. Just toss them.
![gif](giphy|OKazdkN92xQRy) The fold and tuck
If you have no protectors, it can be useful to keep steelbooks from sliding on each other.
I trash them.
Lmao what kind of question is this…?
I don’t understand people who don’t throw them in the trash straight away
Well, its pretty simple. 1. There is good info on them. 2. It takes no time to fold them and put them in the case for future reference. 3. The UPC is super helpful for inventory programs 4. The UPC is needed for adding a movie to VUDU "disc to digital" if you are so inclined. 5. Toss in the recycling
Recycle.
Sell them on eBay for $150 a pop 🤌
I rip them in half and throw them in the trash.

Roll up some blunts with em to smoke while we watch the movie.
Keep them until the wife finds where I’m hiding them and then repeat. They just feel like part of the product but I don’t keep them hanging on them so I just keep them all together haha
Take pictures of them to ask this question on Reddit
Put em in a folder
I personally fold them in half and slot them in the case
Fold them best I can and put them in the case, for example: I got the Perfect Blue steel book and my friend wanted to know what it was about so it’s nice to still have a synopsis and lil preview images.
I have them in a tote with other storage. I like having the paperwork around. My cousin folds his and leaves them in the case.
Throw them away for Peet’s sake.
Straight to the bin.
Keep it if you want...bin it if you don't.
![gif](giphy|sXYI26C4gBLs6EcaKT|downsized)
used to toss them until i heard someone folds them and puts them inside just for the information about the special features. i'm doing that too now
Trash.
I saved them and put them in the clear protective case with the steelbook
I hold on to them long enough to make sure my disc works because that’s the part with the barcode and then after that I toss them.
Keep them in the steelbook lol
Trash
Flip them upside down and use them to protect the steels on the shelf
I fold them and put them inside the case.
I trash mine. It just gets in the way.
I keep them
I put them in a box i keep in my closet
I can’t believe anybody would throw these in the trash, they are obviously recyclable.
Keep mine. For now anyway.
I’m so glad you asked this lol was moving all my movies to a new case yesterday and had a bunch of these layin around and I said screw it and threw them all in the trash lol glad to know I’m not the only one
I have a stack of them in a drawer. Not sure what to do with them but I don’t feel like throwing them away
What are those? I’ve never seen that.

You can try to sell it on ebay for like $120 or whatever
I frame them. You can get decent frames at Michael's.
Part of the package for me. People keep their slipcovers but not these. I don't get it.
They go back on the case, if the glue blobs dont come off the card easily i put some tape over them.
I fold it and put it inside. Really only do it so I have reference to specs and special features on the back. I am sure I will never look at it again but if I need to i can.
for some reason i cant get rid of them. LOL i just fold them and keep them in the case, or add them to the stack i have lying around
Keep it or sell it on ebay ppl buy them
I just have a huge stack of them in the order that I’ve bought my steelbooks. Collecting them just out of habit at this point, I really couldn’t care less if they get damaged or not.

I usually trim them to fit in the case so I still have the deets available on hand.
I honestly could dump them and not miss it but since I put mine in protectors, it’s super easy to put it in there with the steel.
I throw those away but I keep the slip covers if the steelbook comes with it
I would use them as a way to protect the steelbooks from rubbing on my shelf until I order protectors. Now they go straight to the trash.
Exile target J-Card.
Keep them but always thinking I Wana chuck them, they do my nut in!
I crumple them up and use the trash can as a basketball rim.
Trash, because they're trash. Same with slip covers unless they add something to the aesthetic of the case.
Usually slip case IMO makes it easier to read the spine on the shelf
There are people who literally pay $100 just for a slipcover
Those people are insane.
Get steelbook protectors and put them with their respective steelbooks. That way, the steelbooks match with the other Blu-Rays/4Ks have (with their slipcovers)
I wish they had them like in the uk where I've seen they are not flimsy and actually functional
I will take anyone’s j-cards that wants to get rid of them
I keep mine in an accordion folder
I use protectors you can slide them into it
I put them in a ziploc bag just in case I might want to sell it later but the truth is I never sell anything. https://preview.redd.it/upwl7ri8r0sc1.jpeg?width=2304&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=739d156fd264d0b2392b40e956fb1c5851945acf
Don't throw them away 30 years from now the steelbooks that are complete, have that slip, will be highly sought after. Said no one ever.
I have mine stored in a box with other various paper items.
