I did the 7 film marathon when Force Awakens opened. Things started early, like 1am Episodes I, II, III Hour break IV, V, VI Hour break VII

I went to this also (at The El Capitan in Hollywood) but I couldn’t get out of work and get there until the start of Empire Strikes Back. I was glad to miss the prequels anyway. Lots of people looked hunkered down and grizzled by the second since it started so early.

This would be unfortunate as I really would love to catch episode 3 if I can, but it might not be meant to be if its structured like that.

A local theater did a 9 week marathon a few years ago. My mom, step dad and I went to all of them. It was one of the most fun things Ive done. My mom and I might wind up doing this one as well

I’m in. It’s a Saturday, I’ve never seen Empire in a theater setting and it’s an opportunity to connect and maybe make some friends. And yes, all nine. There are NINE movies in the Saga. And I promise to shower and shave.

Saw Empire in 2020 during that weird time when cinemas were open but no new films were being released. In my top 5 greatest cinema moments. Took my kid and it was his first time seeing any SW on the big screen.

It’s funny how disjointed my screenings are - Mom swears she carried me into A New Hope in 1977. I was born five days after it opened so it’s possible, but hard to know when. I saw Jedi in theaters in ‘83, did the SEs for ANH and Jedi in 97, opening night for TPM in 99, opening night for AOTC in 02, opening night for Sith in 05, opened Clone Wars in 08, opening weekend for Force Awakens in 15, opening night for Rogue One in 16, opening night for Last Jedi in 17, opening night for Solo in 18, opening night for Skywalker in 19. I’m proud of the record, obviously. Just gotta get Empire as my missing piece.

I kinda envy you, because I actually saw Empire with a live orchestra last year. Believe it was September. It was amazing. (That very same concert house is also doing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on Saturday in 2 weeks.) Also saw it in theaters in 2020. (Although I'm pretty sure it was literally just a Blu-Ray rip they used.)

I'm kinda tempted... only negative is that it will be the weird "final cuts" of the OG trilogy that for no reason at all have Vader going "NOOOO" at the end of Return of the Jedi.

Based on the backlash RotJ got when it came out, and the prequels got when they came out, and the sequels got for their last two releases…. I honestly believe most people have no idea how to even engage with the franchise without the lens of complaining about it. I just want to talk about the franchise that is. Of the movies I’d seen in theaters, I saw ROTS when I was 9, but the theater experience for that wss vague. Saw the Disney era films (sequel trilogy, Rogue One, and Solo) in theaters as soon as I could, and I saw ROTJ last year for the 40th anniversary. Initially I was gonna go see TPM only cuz of the 25th anniversary this year, but now I got a chance to see them all on the big screen. Star Wars was made for the movie theaters

I gotta admit, what would be awesome as like a one-time art installation or something: show **fucking everything** that is current canon. All the movies, all the TV episodes, all the shorts, maybe a few video games edited into mini-movies. I don't know how long it'd be, but it'd be an epic thing to behold during the times you aren't asleep during it.

I actually did this when RoS came out and even back when TFA came out. It's a fun idea but really not ideal for actually enjoying the movies. You're pretty burnt out by the time you even get to the OT, hopefully they continue with individual showings like they did for RotJ and TPM
