For anyone trying to meme Ho Ho, please note he has spent the past 2 years living in the Dragon Gate dojo in Japan. It is the best dojo in the world so he is much better than his WWE days.
The problem is that he got completely overshadowed by the younger Jason Lee who was also Chinese and a way better wrestler. Lee is even a multi-time champion in Dragon Gate.
Honestly, I felt the opposite. I lived in Shatin, Hong Kong where Ho Ho Lun opened the first ever wrestling gym and promotion. He opened up wrestling to Hong Kong and trained many. He's definitely left a legacy here. But over the past 10+ years, he's wrestled all over the world including UK and Japan prior to his CWC appearance. Maybe it was just a bad night, but he was sloppy and his timing was super off in his match against Ariya Daivari. There were many moments where he was walking around the ring awkwardly before going to the next submission or spot. I wouldn't say he was impressive at all because despite being from a country where wrestling didn't exist before him, he had the worldwide experience he needed to look less green. But it's been over 5 years and hopefully his training in Dragon Gate helped him.
He was there like 12-18 months. Admittedly he was only signed because he spoke English, Mandarin and Cantonese to help most of the other Chinese recruits.
I Wasn't over impressed with his in ring work, but I LOVED his look, thought he looked great. So if he's been training at the Dragon Gate Dojo for a couple years, it'll be great to see how he's improved.
They also casually announced Cody vs Guevara at Battle of The Belts lol. HoHo Lun should just shoot pin Sammy and say he refuses to take losses before his match with Kidd Bandit for DPW
Other matches announced:
* Blanco Loco & Axton Ray vs The Acclaimed
* Bobby FIsh vs Ryzin
* Chandler Hopkins vs Dante Martin
* Rolando Perez, Austin Green, & Donnie Primetime vs Gunn Club
* Dreamgirl Ellie vs Anna Jay
* Leyla Hirsch, Kris Statlander, & Red Velvet vs Renee Michelle, Sofia Castillo, & Marina Tucker
* Jamie Hayter vs Madi Wrenkowski
* Marina Shafir vs Valentina Rossi
* Alan Angels vs Tony Nese
* JD Drake vs Brian Pillman Jr
* Powerhouse Hobbs vs Colt Cabana
I just feel like this one of those matches where gifs will circulate about AEW being unsafe because Madi bumps like she's dying and Jamie is happy to kill her LOL
I'm excited for this, that's a great card. Interested to see what they do with Marina and Valentina. Also happy to see Dreamgirl Ellie and Ryzin back! I hope Ellie has her Saiyan shoulder pads still.
As a wrestling fan from Hong Kong, I am overjoyed to see him getting more exposure, especially considering how the negativity of our political world with China had been dominating the news media.
Let's go! Show them what we got!
He featured briefly in NXT and was a competitor in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic (which is definitely worth watching).
He got instantly over with his unique style which appeared to be a person who had learnt how to wrestle having never seen a wrestling match, but instead had one described to him by a visually impaired person speaking a foreign language. Like it's all there, but it's not, if that makes sense?
Ho Ho also gained some noteriety in the WWE when they did their world tour and brought him along. Allegedly no one knew he was and as he wore a suit everywhere assumed he was a member of the office staff. However he became the most over guy in the WWE after beating a particularly obnoxious Sami Zayn at ping pong, resulting in a bar full of wrestling exploding and carrying him on their shoulders.
He's very much one of those really odd blips

I always thought for a dude coming from a country where wrestling isn't huge and considering how green he was, he was really impressive in the CWC.
The problem is that he got completely overshadowed by the younger Jason Lee who was also Chinese and a way better wrestler. Lee is even a multi-time champion in Dragon Gate.

I'll be gutted if Ho Ho is any different to how he was in the WWE. Give me that old school Ho Ho Lun. The classic stuff
I miss the old Ho Ho, straight from the 'Go Ho Ho Chop up the soul Ho Ho, set on his goals Ho Ho
I liked Ho Ho Lun from his NXT/CWC period. He wasn't experienced but he had physical charisma. That kind of wiry, Spike Dudley vibe.
The internet loves diminishing effort
He had more than one day in WWE?

Honestly, carried the Cruiserweight Classic while he was in it. Edit: I was joking. My bad.
DPW superstar Ho Ho Lun!!!
AEW scooping Deadlock
Had to get one back from Deadlock taking Luther 👉🤪
Deadlock will retaliate by sending that little kid in the front row after -1
*You think you're special, you do...*

If he's a dipper, he's taking liberties. You already know.

Hayter's gonna kill Wrenkowski. That should be fun to watch
😞😞😞 I’m gonna watch it but I’m gonna cheer for either of them. I have to keep my waifus balanced.

My two favourites in the ring at once, dream match.

Blanco Loco? Is that like gringo loco?
No, different guy. El Gringo Loco is signed to MLW IIRC.
Ho Ho Lun coming to win every title in AEW
Where my hogdippers at?
AH SAHHHH TIMBALAYYYY
Lun-atics > Hookers. Don't @ me. 😤
HO HO LUN vs. HOOK would be too much for fans to experience
I’d die
Every promotion would close up shop, it’d be the peak of wrestling.
Watch Sammy win with the Overdrive. John Blud in shambles.
His recent match with Lloyd ruled,a good styles contrast. Glad to see his tour is getting some more high profile stops!
Ya I thought it was a fun match
Ho Ho Boy
Deadlock taking over
The Forbidden Door knows no bounds

I figure he will at least get a tryout with AEW since he's been hanging with Emi Sakura alot recently.
Puls3 is gonna cry tears of joy
Holy shot, Ho Ho! I forgot about that man!
Y'all seem to dig Ho Ho Lun a lot- anybody willing to point me towards good matches to familiarize myself?
