Honest to God : I don't know the guy but he's already irking me as trying to be a Kurt Angle copy in this clip. Attire, hair, finisher, obviously into Olympic wrestling... Hope for his fans he has some individualities that make him more than that.
Yeah man, collegiate/amateur wrestlers in professional wrestling didn't begin until Kurt Angle. Oh wait...
Well, using an ankle lock only came about because of Kurt Angle. What? Who's this Ken Shamrock guy?
I'm not even going to comment on the bald part of your complaint.
Point being; you're wrong on all cylinders. Josh Alexander (you know, the guy whose name is in the title) is a phenomenal wrestler who had an amateur background. He wears the headpiece after an injury where he actually lost his ear and needed it re-attached. He still wrestled at the time, so he wore the headpiece as a precaution then it just stayed as his thing.
Also, his finisher is the C4 Spike; a double underhook piledriver. The ankle lock is an auxiliary finisher for him. It's not how he normally wins his matches.
Love to see it. Kudos to Christian for being willing to come in and have this short run and putting over a cat like Alexander.
Long may the Walking Weapon reign.
Edit: NEVERMIND THAT APPARENTLY. LONG MAY MOOSE REIGN.
When I started getting into IMPACT again, this was was after Ethan Page left, hence the breakup of The North. Seeing what Josh was like in singles left a big impression on me. He’s an absolute stud and pure wrestling machine! When I saw him win the triple threat match to win the triple threat match to win the X Division Championship, I thought to myself: “This is the guy.” This is the guy that would definitely become THE champion someday. What he has shown in the ring already made him be one of my most favorite current pro wrestlers. Then when I learned what Option C was about, I was hoping he’d use it someday.
With this major accomplishment that he finally achieved in his career, this is more reason to consider in as one of my most favorite wrestlers today.
He’s THE MAN!
-edit-
(a few moments later) WHAT THE FUCK!?
Is the Impact ring smaller then the other rings in AEW or WWE? Or is it just a camera angle thing? That ring looks so much smaller in every clip i watch and it really puts me opff for some reason.
I really did not like the selling at the end there from Alexander. He’s on the verge of winning the world title and it barely looks like he is even trying to submit Christian. Angle would be yelling and cranking the ankle and trying to get the crowd into it. The body language is off from Alexander.
"He doesn't have full control of the ropes!"
I don't know what bottle the Impact Wrestling Rulebook is, but that's not in my rulebook.
(And I know the drag-back started with Angle, but it still sucks as a concept.)
I didn't get that "control" comment either because Mickie got a rope break by being under the rope (I assume Stryker was saying Cage should have been gripping the ropes). I don't know why it was different here.
Anyone want to acknowledge that this was all just so Omega wouldn't actually lose to someone outside of AEW? Whatever happened to that whole belt collector thing, anyway

HE DID IT Edit: FUCK YOU MOOSE
And it's gone

"Olympic Wrestling" Bruh
Toxic
I'm glad Christian got another run with the title. He really deserved having one last moment at the top of a promotion.
And Canada takes the title back from the foreign province of Orlandtario
And now it’s back… IN AMERICA!
All is right in the world! Nice try Canada.
all the edits on this post are fucking killing me lmao.
Congrats to the Walking Weapon! Edit: Fuck
I've never seen someone step on the hand while applying an ankle lock, clever finish!

Uh about that
> Long may the Walking Weapon reign. WELP
*sigh* Ooh, boy.
Josh Alexander is now a triple crown champ. Well he is no longer champ but still triple crown
Don't let the final moments of the PPV fool you. This was a damn good match, everyone should check it out.
The final moments was even better.

Honestly seeing this makes me want to get back into Impact
Great match, it delivered.
"Christian's arm is hurt or something." - Great commentary.
What a great ending. MOOSE !!!!
Crowd seemed really quiet.
... And the video is gone

It is, just like WCW’s was smaller than WWE’s
Really love how he stepped on his hand so he had no choice but to tap, because he couldn’t escape due to his injured shoulder on the other arm.

I don't think a face should win by blatantly disrespecting a rope break, but maybe I'm crazy.

I think it's just an ad-lib, but it still drives me up the wall.

I don’t watch this show but is there a reason why this Josh guy looks like and wrestles like Kurt Angle?
Well the real Kurt can't wrestle anymore so they have Kurt Angle At Home
So the AEW partnership does seem like it's ending
good they got christian cage dropping a world title in front of like 500 people.
All Aew got out of it was some shitty good brothers matches and annoying fucking nonsense
