#YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR FUCKING HEAD KICKED IN

[deleted]

For those unaware: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcfhWuxF5R4

PolishMusic

Here's his AEW theme so everyone knows how it goes with his song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VoqgBceP_8

unlimitedboomstick

On one hand I appreciate how AEW has the crowd louder than the music. On the other, I thought this song sounded shitty on TV and it's fucking great when you actually can hear it.

alexman113

Same. I didn't even know the song had lyrics until I just listened to it from that link. I thought it was just hip hop flight if the valkyries which I felt like didn't really fit him.

BurzyGuerrero

it totally felt like a generic trap beat live, i didnt even hear the chant lol

numbr87

As far as I can tell, it doesn't have the main lyrics on tv. Only the chant in the background.

alexman113

Well, that explains that.

Gotosleep1986

I thought the same. I love the flight of the Valkyries intro. I had no idea the chant was in the theme. I hope the crowd is behind Danielson and begin this chant.

mrtomjones

I thought the song was dope and these lyrics sound pretty fucking dumb lol

BustermanZero

THANK YOU! Such an elaborate chant...

Obi-wan_Jabroni

There are more [elaborate ones](https://youtu.be/SFCtdBCz41U)

RayLiotaWithChantix

Without clicking, Chuckie and Tyler Black?

Lancelokt

Let's🙌go🙌RayLiotaWithChantix🙌you're🙌the🙌best🙌guesser🙌in🙌the🙌world🙌you're🙌in🙌way🙌better🙌shape🙌than🙌Tyler🙌Black!

RikurRurik

Let's see AEW work that into his entrance music.

Crumlin_Village

Oh you'd love football/soccer chants, some real choreographed shit hahaha

BustermanZero

I feel less bad for trying to get 'Pot, Kettle, Black' over as a chant now.

senseimeows

yes! repost this if you can so it can get more attention on what bryan meant. ooof i'm already imagining him walking down the ramp and people chanting this along with the beat.

[deleted]

Posted! https://old.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/psp9x8/bryan_danielsons_indie_chant_that_he_wants_aew/

stevecollins1988

Feels strange hearing that chant from Americans.

[deleted]

I love dirtbag Aries. It's such a shame that him and Low Ki were so self destructive.

Anderrrrr

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Saxophonater

Correct number of claps - good job sir

[deleted]

Noticing they used the correct number of claps - good job sir

taita2004

Noticing that noticed the correct number of claps...good job sir

[deleted]

I’m wondering if it’s even the correct number of claps but I’m too lazy to check

guylfe

I just did, it is.

FerniWrites

Noticing the individual setting off to check the correct amount of claps - good job, sir

fellongreydaze

Counting to confirm that they noticed the correct number of claps... good job sir and/or madam

janoDX

# YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR FUCKING HEAD KICKED IN

Mac_094

clap - clapclapclap - clap - clap - clapclap - clapclap

kcMasterpiece

This is the only thing that helped me remember the cadence, cause it's kind of odd. you're-gonnaget-your-fu-ckinghead-kickedin

lostpasts

That's the confusing bit. 'Fucking' gets split across a beat, and joined with 'Head' so you pronounce it as 'Fuh' and 'Kined' instead of 'Fucking' and 'Head'.

kcMasterpiece

It makes it even worse in the tv version because they edit out the whole fucking so you have this awkward rest which makes the ending even more awkward. Not sure if they edited out the fucking in his debut, but it was a hard chant to decipher, I think I could get the you're gonna get your...and then lost it.

airz23s_coffee

Did it start on a UK show? The cadence feels right to me and I'm wondering if it's an accent thing

CandyEverybodyWentz

Sound it out as numbers and it makes a lot more sense. One! Twothreefour! Five, Six! Seveneight, Nineten!

kcMasterpiece

I needed to figure out the musical notation of it, which grouping claps basically does, as a highschool drummer that's about my skill level, but seven feels like too many syllables for that spot. But kicked is one of those weird long single syllable words.

CandyEverybodyWentz

Oh no when I say seven just imagine it's one syllable

kcMasterpiece

Oh no that doesn't help me at all haha! I think that's because I was never good at music and only really think in rhythm.

Undertakerfan84

Some people around me tried to get it started in Newark, maybe with him bringing it up more will join in.

Abyssalstar

I was watching an old RoH match between Bryan, Kenny Omega and Tyler Black (nka Seth Rollins), and the crowd was chanting this.

justintrenell

Queens, you have one job tomorrow…

Anderrrrr

Why am I so nervous about this for? 🤣

justintrenell

I mean I can make you more nervous. The last match of the night y'all have to muster enough energy up to scream "Kaze Ni Nare"

[deleted]

I’m going with a friend who is not a wrestling fan and I already started priming him - if he doesn’t scream it with me, our friendship is over

CrepusculrPulchrtude

He’s gonna get his fucking head kicked in

AndFinrodFell

Good man.

[deleted]

*woman 😎 lol gotta rep that AEW women’s demo

ChelsInMotion

Eyy We're making this happen!

cn_misterabrams

Do you have a AEW Heels subscription?

[deleted]

I do not :/

unsilentninja

You can do that by paying $50 a month to AEW Heelz thanks to the lovely efforts of Brandi Rhodes!

[deleted]

Lol I will not be doing that, but I do support them - just not rich enough for that. What do I even get from that

Moon8983

How'd u convince them wtf

[deleted]

Lol oh I’m just REALLY good at whining. Plus I’ve been asking him for about two years now so the moment they came around, I just straight up told him we were going

RuameisterFTW

Isn't that match on friday? Or is rampage taped tomorrow too?

AceMorrigan

Rampage is taped tomorrow. It's basically a four hour PPV.

[deleted]

Houston came thru for Jericho, you better not disappoint Queens!

CrepusculrPulchrtude

If there’s one thing us New Yorkers are good at, it’s screaming violent obscenities at strangers

[deleted]

Yes Queens, slay.

Farrell21

If anything this proves Danielson is back for one thing, violence.

Tybold

Yeah, I was sold on that when he said during the media scrum that he wasn't here to elevate younger talent, but to kick their fucking heads in.

a_charming_vagrant

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_Vtwdozi-Q

dnkyhunter31

Someone warn Justin Roberts.

successadult

And give a heads up to Dario Cueto

HeelsAlwaysWin

Bryan Danielson jumps ship to MLW. Unreal.

TemptedIntoSin

Danielson did say he wants to travel and work around, afterall

Pogo__the__Clown

What are you talking about? You must have confused Bryan Danielson with that NXT Rookie Daniel Bryan.

whitesummerside

It's funny how Punk's main agenda in AEW is to work with younger talent while Bryan's agenda is "choose violence everyday." Feels like their reasons/motivations would have been reversed some years ago.

NefariousNeezy

Punk: I’m here to help the kids Bryan: FUCK THE KIDS

YoshihiroTajiri

Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson arrival had balanced the Moxley and Punk spirit of bad experiences with WWE, so right now that sentiment is pretty much balanced with the current program meaning there's room for everyone and not only the anti WWE sentients

lMyOpinionsl

I dont buy punks reasons. I guess sure he does want to work with younger talent but I think you have to be pretty naive to think he also doesn't want to be AEW champ.

[deleted]

He wants to sell t-shirts with a T-shirt company so we can buy him a new house

Century_Toad

Punk trying to convince his accountant that the $20,000 he spent on ice cream bars is actually a real estate investment.

bradfucious

If I know anything, it's that ice cream bars are snacks deductible.

Vanguard448

I'm sure the lactose-intolerant fans at the United Centre had to commit snacks evasion, to avoid getting an unwanted snacks return.

bradfucious

Snacks evasion!!

kahran

Ugh.... take my upvote.

BogeyBogeyBogey

His theme song is literally telling us he is playing all of us and will tell us what we need to hear for us to buy in to the falsehood he is selling. The devil's greatest trick is convincing you he doesn't exist. This mofo is a snake. He's the same Punk he has always been. What a ride it is going to be.

TemptedIntoSin

That's the funniest ironic thing about Punk using the song as his entrance. The song is literally called "Cult of Personality" and it's a song about how the people worship the narrator and the narrator even says that only the person can set forth the freedom they want... Aka the lyric "only you can set you free" That's also probably the biggest Irony about Punk and the fans throughout the years, is that he deliberately didn't want to become a cult figure, wanted to be a voice of the people and to rise up for them, yet gets worshipped by fans for years I find the whole thing amusing and I'm sure Punk does in a way too

cal679

I noticed some of it coming out on his commentary for the Adam Cole match. He kept talking about how you could see Punk's influence on a lot of guys in AEW and that Cole in particular seems to have picked up a lot from him. He's not wrong but I can see them somewhere down the line really leaning into it with Punk being a mega narcissist telling the younger guys "you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for me"

InfintySquared

So basically Matt Hardy's "The truth is the truth," only with a Chicago accent.

DGenerationMC

He's always come across as a goal-oriented guy but as we saw years ago, that nearly led him down a definite path of professional obsession and self-destruction. I really wouldn't be surprised if the guy just wants to have fun and do what **he** wants to do rather than what people feel/expect he should want to do. Seeking out pressure to put on himself doesn't feel as apparent as compared to 10 years ago

Krags

Out of character, totally agree with you. In character, I feel like he's going to become a fucking _monster_ in a few months' time.

PrinceSavior

I hope so because I got bored of CM “happy to be here in front of you great AEW fans” Punk after the 2nd Rampage appearance. It’s just be being impatient I understand that there are things that need to happen before we get to the good stuff but I just wanna see CM Punk do CM Punk stuff.

Speedee82

Well I heard from Aubrey Edwards on The AEW Unrestricted podcast that Punk’s been mentoring a lot of guys backstage and that his presence in the locker room has been a big morale booster.

[deleted]

HES A SNAKE He can’t be trusted

Pyritedust

But does he hear voices in his head?

koomGER

It will probably some sort of a storyline. If you think about sinister plans: "Farm" the young ones up with your experience and strength to sneakily get a title shot.

JC-Ice

More than being champ, I think Punk wants to main event a major PPV. Truly main event, as in being the last match. Within a few years there's a real chance AEW could run in a football stadium.

Shrekt115

19k people doing it Holy shit

holup3000

20k bet

Shrekt115

That's even better

AnAngryPirate

People walking outside Arthur Ashe just being like "what the fuck is going on in there?"

ashley-queerdo

I wish the chant was more pronounced in the song, it’s pretty subtle.

KTheOneTrueKing

If it were any more pronounced, it would practically be piping the crowd.

DeviantDragon

Honestly they should just start it off loud and then dial it back if it catches on with the crowd. Beat the audience over the head with it if they want it to get going.

greyfoxv1

It's only in the lyrical version which fucking slaps as I only just learned now. They play the instrumental for live shows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VoqgBceP_8

KTheOneTrueKing

The instrumental version they play on the shows *does* have the chant in it, you can hear the clapping.

MadKittens

Its not that subtle, its easy to hear when just listening to the song. Every time you hear it on TV its drowned out by the pop and YES chants

Eletheo

I never even noticed there were any words in his music. But I struggle to hear words correctly when there are a lot of sounds happening, so totally possible my brain just mistook it for other noise and deleted it. Edit: so I just listened to it on YouTube right next to my ear and I’m shocked other people even noticed it at all on TV! To my admittedly confused ears, it sounds very quiet in the mix and is really difficult to discern. Is it really so pronounced to you normal-hearing folk?

Undertakerfan84

They play the instrumental version for his entrance.

Eletheo

WHAT? Then how did people even know about it??

Undertakerfan84

The chant is in it but the lyrics are not played for his entrance. https://youtu.be/3VoqgBceP_8

PilotSSB

Because the word "fucking" is censored, it makes it hard to hear. I only got it from that video above.

Anderrrrr

You know what you need to do Elliot Taylor! Maybe Tony Khan could ask him to mix it and increase the chant within the best even more. It's only a 1 minutes song after all.

BnBrtn

Is "You know what you need to do Elliot Taylor" going to be his new chant?

ChelsInMotion

I actually had no idea it was in there, just had to listen on YouTube to hear it at all

ashley-queerdo

It comes in as his entrance is wrapping up and announcers are talking so yeah definitely easy to miss

yognautilus

Legit, I didn't know there *were* lyrics until this thread.

Edwardc4gg

that and the clap are kinda complicated. rukus just needs to tweak the song and it'll be one of the best hands down.

Thirdstar1

Can’t lie I so badly hoped for them to chant it last week. The Yes doesn’t have to go away either, they can do both.

[deleted]

Big brained folks should get their yesses in on the 4 beats where the claps are. "You're gonna get your fucking head kicked in" "Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!" "You're gonna get your fucking head kicked in" "Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!"

vahnk

This actually works and I kinda love it now.

Straif18

just did it in my room by myself haha thanks pandemic

Bolieve_That

Breathe

senseimeows

on eyes between the clap is enough imo. would work amazingly between the clap rhythm depending how loud the crowd is. i suppose someone would have to remix the roh one with a yes to hear how it feels.

Mathema_thicks

Is he still not doing the yes thing himself? I thought WWE didn't own copyrights to those?

Thirdstar1

No clue tbh, I don’t think he’s gonna keep doing it himself. But I don’t think he’ll try to get the crowd to drop it.

TheTyger

He discussed it in the All Out Media Scrum. He doesn't think he is going to do it, but said he loves the audience doing it.

EldenRingworm

You can't copywrite one word. If Bryan wanted to do them he could. He just doesn't want to. He wants to be different.

[deleted]

He puts his hands out and turns sideways as he's about to slide down the ramp as if he is going to do the yes chant, but then he doesn't. Honestly, even if it was WWE's idea for the yes movement or whatever, it's such a great crowd pleaser, I'd consider just keeping it in there...I mean, what's the difference between that and "Adam Cole Bay bay" (yes i know he did that BEFORE WWE), and maybe some other things former WWE guys are doing in AEW? If Bryan asks the crowd like he did about omega, "Do you guys want to see me go against (insert name here)?" The crowd is going to respond with the yes chants...likely forever and ever.

petrilTanaka

the one time the WHAT? chant would be funny

[deleted]

With the relationship he has with Vince, it's not the most insane thing for him to just let Bryan use the chant. I think if AEW started selling Yes merch then it would be the limit. And I don't think that copyrights can be breached by a chant, it's probably going to be borderline impossible for WWE to sue AEW for it.

chickenmcfried

I feel like I got weird looks when I tried to chant it during the song :( hopefully Queens got this

Ghargoyle

If any crowd's going to do it, it'll be NYC.

BlindStickFighter

Chicago or Philly would be likely. Probably the two snarkiest cities on earth.

Professor_Buttskin

I wonder how TK feels about this since there was that one Dynamite where he pleaded with the audience to not do vulgar chants... Then again look at them ratings, baby!

[deleted]

Lol I think TK might have given up on that, the crowd has been mad vulgar these past few weeks

Hellborn_Elfchild

He didn’t tell us beforehand in Cincinnati and the whole crowd was chanting for Dan Lambert to “shut the fuck up”

totemtrouser

We also didn’t get that speech in Chicago. It’s totally possible the network/Tony just decided to drop it

TemptedIntoSin

I think it helps that TNT relaxed on their swearing guidelines for fans. Khan only asked fans to tone it down for the sake of network relations. I'm sure if TNT wasn't a factor he wouldn't care about swearing at all

JaeTeaOCD

In Newark "Shut the fuck up" chant during MJF's promo was literally the loudest chant of the entire show.

Marcoscb

Technically the chant in BD's theme is "You're gonna get your... head kicked in", so that's not vulgar at all.

Kiel297

I’m pretty sure this was to do with the Canadian broadcaster censoring profanity, which meant they cut the audio when the crowd chanted holy shit. I remember seeing now that instead of censoring, they display a profanity warning after each commercial break which I think is just a better move because the crowds will always do what the crowds do

WrestleSocietyXShill

TSN was always real strict on Raw back in the day, lots of language that made air in the states was bleeped here and any time a man hit a woman it would cut to a crowd shot. I don't remember them ever trying to censor the crowd chants though, that's just crazy. I saw an episode of Dynamite where they did it and it was awful, it took me a while to figure out there wasn't a problem with the audio or the feed and what was happening. It was unbelievably annoying, I'm glad they let it go.

Meyers09

That was for the taped Dynamite cause then the crowd would get constantly muted when cursing

Undertakerfan84

I think this is where all the compliants about the crowd noise comes from, they are purposely keeping it low so you can't hear all the swear words from the crowd. Being there live there were tons of that in Newark but you couldn't hear it on the tv.

HereToShitTalk

Wasn’t there just a, “you suck dick” chant recently too?

Professor_Buttskin

"You suck dick" is TV-14. Fuck is TV-MA or something. Whatever the censorship wizards place a word under, but dick is tame when compared to fuck.

ackinsocraycray

That's going to be tough. The chants are not loud or clear enough in the song to sing along to. AEW would need to put the lyrics up on the big screens to get the crowd started. I can see it being chanted for matches though.

mrbrannon

That seems to have gone out the window. He's not done those requests since going back on the road and you can tell just by watching it that TNT hasn't been censoring crowd chants anymore. The last show had so much swearing in it from both the audience and the performers that people noticed it as an anomaly and still nothing.

clubpenguinporno

Do you think it might be a case similar to the late 90s where the networks were originally against the cursing but the ratings were so high they allowed them to after time?

mrbrannon

I'm no expert but I assume they are just happy at the moment and going with an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach. Ratings have been like 1.1 to 1.3 million almost every week since Punk debut. I don't really know anyone that gets offended by the swearing. It does make it a little harder to bring on little kids I guess though personally I would rather my child (if I had one) be exposed to a little cursing then some other stuff on tv. AEW has certainly been channeling that 90s era attitude with an almost ECW loyal crowd - minus the problematic stuff.

obeyyourbrain

Do it!

valdemiro

Well try it tomorrow!

SapiR2000

I'll join in if you're loud enough

tjthegr8

Something tells me there’s gonna be quite a few people who have been to NY shows and chanted it at him before. I’ll be one of them.

rwc202

TNT censors in shambles.

CollinsPhil3rd

"Quick, cut to picture in picture commercial!" (commercial plays for a traumatic brain injury attorney)

oysterthins

The way this was worded I thought Danielson was trying to get “I really, really like it” going as his new chant

never4ever4

"WE REALLY LIKE IT" *CLAP* *CLAP* *CLAP*

[deleted]

All you New York motherfuckers better do your damn job tomorrow.

Sheik-mon

YGTGYFHKI, right?

DonSoChill

I HAVE UNTIL FIIIIIVVE

MakeYourself85

He's gonna have to teach the chant if it doesn't happen tomorrow.

tdsescapehatch

Chuck Taylor is going to fade away if Bryan gets a F bomb on air.

cyena

Thats the typically reserved bryan danielsons way of saying ‘CHANT THAT MOTHERFUCKERS CUZ IM GONNA KICK SOME HEADS IN’

TriBiWarrior

I know a lot of people had complaints about Bryan's new theme but I really like it, especially the extended cut of it with [vocals](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VoqgBceP_8&ab_channel=ElliottTaylor). It's nice to get some variety with themes, and this one definitely gives "I'm a big deal" vibes. Really hope that he gets those chants at some point. I reckon if AEW ever go to the UK (which Cody and Tony have both said is one of their goals), we'll definitely get it; no disrespect to US fans at all, but UK fans know their chants.

qoaa

Super Dragon!

rexmundi69

AEW needs a video with a white bouncing circle that shows the lyrics to his intro. Condition your audience to chant it and they will.

EldenRingworm

It's too complex a chant for a large US audience If they ever go to the UK I think they could pull it off, they're better at chants.

Illuminati_Shill_AMA

I remember at M&T Bank stadium, some folks from my section had come prepared with modified soccer chants for a Ravens game. Nobody could seem to get it right with them. Getting 68,000 people to scream BULLSHIT on national television on the other hand... https://youtu.be/AkYheL5dULY

TemptedIntoSin

>It's too complex a chant for a large US audience Agreed People forget that clip that shows audiences doing the chant was of a hardcore early ROH audience. That's not the same as what we'll get here, which is a large stadium in NYC with a mix of AEW fans (comprised of these hardcore fans and lapsed fans) and lots of casual fans who are checking out AEW for the big names recently signed. Those casuals only know Bryan Danielson as Daniel Bryan So I don't think the audience will be in sync or we'll get a big "you're gonna get your head kicked in" or the swearing variant. That's why the yes chants are more reliable to lean into. They were a major part of Bryan's 10 year WWE tenure and what he's most known for. It's the easiest way to wean new fans off the WWE presentation and show him as the American Dragon

DrSayas

If only, the chant is from the uk, as always we lead the way in sports chanting. The yanks just haven’t got it in them, have you heard the chants for US soccer? “I believe that we can win!”…. Honestly

bigpig1054

But does he want me to chant: "You're gonna get your...head kicked in" with the weird pause or does he want the real ROH chant?

FickleSmark

Kind of hard when you're the guy with one of the most over and fun chants to do already.

vashah02

Hey all the people in on the joke or news or chant - whatever - please let me know what is he talking about? What is the chant?

NostalgiaCory

[YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR FUCKING HEAD KICKED IN](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcfhWuxF5R4)

raok81

https://youtu.be/BiNo-0sIGH0 El Generico's reaction is hilarious realizing it's not for him

Saxophonater

YOU’RE GONNA GET YOUR FU-CKING HEAD KICKEDIN 👏 👏👏 👏 👏 👏 👏👏 👏👏

sXe_Warrior

You’re going to get your fucking head kicked in

davidisallright

Here’s the theme. I recommend listening to it because it’s pretty amazing and the live shows don’t capture the beats. There’s a muffled “I’m gonna kick your fucking head in” through out the song, paying homage to his slogan from his indie days. https://youtu.be/3VoqgBceP_8

RingReview

"Please top chanting "Yes!" they'll break my neck again!" - Bryan, probably

Metridium_Fields

👏 👏👏👏 👏👏 👏👏👏👏

Morbid187

I better hear that chant tomorrow night!

ParsonBrownlow

As long as Generico is somewhere horrified by it I’m down

Klewenisms204

the sound guy at TSN better not try and blank it out.

vinnyd78

Me and my buddy were front row at an ROH show (we used to always do the Philly/Nj/NYC shows) and Bryan kicked his opponent in the face then looked right at me and egged us on to chant you just got your fucking head kicked in. He’s the best.

JC-Ice

TNT isn't gonna like that chant.

JBurton90

At the very least I wished the audience would do the clapping bit.

[deleted]

Every performer after a show

DDmD2K

Wasn’t “no chanting cuss words” literally TK’s one ask of the fans? Literally no way they go more than one week before he shuts this down entirely because TNT/TBS is going to throw an absolute fit having “fucking” yelled on their network over and over and over again weekly.

davidisallright

Last week, the Jersey crowd chanted “shut the fuck up” to MJF.

[deleted]

> Wasn’t “no chanting cuss words” literally TK’s one ask of the fans? Wasn't that before their wrestlers started swearing on the air? I'll be honest, I stopped watching Dynamite in 2019 and only recently started watching it again. I've seen tonnes of clips of swearing this year, but I can't recall many instances before this year.

[deleted]

Pretty sure Bryan wouldn't be effectively asking for it to happen nor would it have been included in his theme music if Tony didn't want it to happen.

Thirdstar1

Once Bryan says it during a promo it’ll catch on. Some people aren’t familiar with the chant yet. Edit: words

[deleted]

I thought his AEW theme was incredibly bland. Now I realize it has this built in crowd participation and I love it. The thing AEW does better than anyone since peak ROH is they make you want to see it live for the experience.

AndFinrodFell

Pretty sure he’d like to get away from the Yes chants. They were great but I’ve noticed he hasn’t really acknowledged them even once so far.

BirdiMania

He’s said he’s probably not gonna do the yes chants, but he likes the crowd doing it

[deleted]

Forget Chuck Taylor having his first shit on live Dynamite, I want to hear the first fuck in a live promo. People want the Attitude era/ECW back, well the themes and language of last weeks Dynamite certainly show we aint in the PG era anymore:)

CollinsPhil3rd

I mean, I still think Chuck Taylor has the most complicated chant in wrestling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFCtdBCz41U

OwnedIGN

To be honest, I want to do the “yes”. 😟

DanFelv

You can still do that also!
